  1. By actual creation goodness I don't understand why you would do otherwise.... (I closed your extra topics; how did you manage a triple post?! )
  2. I really love these sets. While they aren't the MOC-in-a-box I hoped for (that is, I wanted a single ship), they are all great designs. I especially love the rover and the robots. But... I have to join the chorus of people who feel that these sets are a bit too expensive. It is a shame that Lego have decided that they would not sell well at retail as with the greater volume the price would probably be better. As it is, I will probably have to give these sets a miss... :'-( Thanks for the great review Dunamis! *sweet*
  3. Nice discovery! :-D I often know A, and B, but have trouble realising A+B... :-$ In this case I have replaced a Fabuland head (I prefered the older walrus head), and I knew that the technic guys had similar heads, but I never thought that they would be the same. Unfortuantly I only have 5 technic guys and I don't want to risk damage so I won't be doing this at home. (When I replaced the walrus head the neck came off the head making the swap much harder. I've been scared ever since!) On the subject of your customs, I love them! *sweet* I might be having nightmares tonight though! X-D (Is that one of the old Lego trees? )
  4. Did you read the link you gave for the definition of "Shenanigans"? It says; Yes, I realise that it is only part of the full meaning, but how am I supposed to know what you mean? Since you provide the like it implies that you want the primary meaning to be used. As for being hypocritical, could you provide an example please. I'm hoping you won't be using my example MOC as a reference as if you read the rules, you would have noticed I gave a part count. If there was any confusion you could have asked... How else can I make rules clear? Some people don't come here enough to read entire competition topics, so that is the best way to give notice. What honestly perplexes me it that I am being attacked even though I allowed the entries that broke the rules in the vote. What would have happened if I didn't? But I see moderator editing of posts a lot on other forums and blogs. I can provide a few examples if you want. This one instantly springs to mind, and I don't see it as rude at all.
  5. Hey! You beat me to it! I'm still waiting on my Green Grocer and I had a major hard drive crash last night and I may have lost a year of Final Fantasy downloads but I think I'm in a better mood than you!But on topic, I don't think the PS4 will replace Lego. I have a PS3 (which I love) and I'm considering buying a 360, but I still buy Lego.
  6. I think it's a mistake. I find it hard to believe that the USD price is the same as the AUD price. I wouldn't be surprised if this error happened the same time as the Green Grocer one. I'd expect $200 USD, but I think the AUD price is correct though.
  7. Yes. It's being discussed here and you can pre-order it here.
  8. Done! *sweet*
  9. I'll do as you ask. If you are missing any ask me and I'll see what I can do; I have about 5 GB of instructions....
  10. Great work! I agree that this set is very under-rated. (I have it too.) You have done a great job in re-working this set, and I like the figs too! I especially like that at a casual glance it's seems the same, but the more you look at it the more you realise that almost everthing has changed. The prison is probably the biggest improvement; I liked the look of the original, but it makes no sense! :-D Interestingly one of my projects is rebuilding my police station so it looks like the old one but still fits in next to Green Grocer...
  11. Interestingly the same point was made last year! X-D But aren't we all sinners? Ooops! That sounds like a religious discussion.... ;-)
  12. We already have stopped. This is nothing new...
  13. This conversation is tiresome... and it has been done many times before. Honestly, as an Australian I don't like it either, but it is not just a simple matter of comparing prices and exchange rates between countries. If you want Lego to listen, just don't buy their product. That is always the best way to make a company know that you don't like what they are doing. I personally have decided to buy less full price sets this year. But discussing the issue over and over achieves little... so I'm closing this.
  14. Well, this has been discussed before, and the decision was no.
  15. :-$ I just realised what I did; I added an entry called "City and Space" instead of "Landlubber". In hindsight, that's pretty funny! :-D ...I think I need more sleep.
  16. It was my contest and I can change the rules as much as I want. I didn't change them at the end anyway; the edit date is just for the list of entries which I kept updating thoughout the contest. You might notice that I accidently missed your entry in that list. Mentioning it earlier would have been helpful, mentioning it now is almost useless. I am sorry that I made a mistake, but it's done, and aside from re-starting the poll there is little I can do about it. But what I have done is added you to the poll and gave you five bonus votes. For the record, the baseplate rule was there from the start, and has nothing to do with your exclusion. The rules that I changed was; I clarified what is minifig, added the monkey line, and I added the category list as I had no idea what entries would be popular until they were entered. You're twisting my words. "Try" referred to making it like Lego does, and "don't" referred to the baseplate. Please don't accuse me of being dishonest. This contest took a lot of my (and others) free time to organise and I don't think I deserve it.
  17. It's not that simple. The boat hulls are pretty big, there are sails and two small boats.
  18. There is no place for religious discussion on EB. The same usually goes for politics. For one, the simple fact is that people have opinions, and in most cases they wont change. Thus you usually end up with people insulting other peoples opinions... and this never goes down well. But ultimately this is a Lego fan site, and religion and politics are off topic anyway. Incidently, I just checked your post and IMHO you didn't go too far. Thanks. *sweet*
  19. No, not yet. I'll be eagerly awaiting it tomorrow... just like I have every day for the last week or so... *wacko* Thanks for the news though! *sweet*
  20. Strewth! You sound like you need a hug...
  21. I hope not. The smarter thing for Lego to do would just be to change the age rating. The M$g^ Bl!ks proucts are only a problem as they are aiming for 6 year olds... and in some cases even 3. *wacko* You think so? I think he is saying the opposite
  22. Thanks for the review. It looks beautiful. My father was a backhoe driver, so understandably I used to drool over this set in the catalogs. I never did get it though as Lego was so expensive in Australia then; I had around 2000 pieces and I thought I had loads! :-D Anyway, last year I bought 8455, which I love; it works great with a compressor I made too! *sweet* I wish mine had a real cab though... :'-( Do you have 8455 as well? I'd love to see how they compare side by side... It looks bigger than 8455 but I don't own any of the big old chuncky tires so I find it so hard to tell. By the way, I have been reading all of your reviews but I have been a bit busy of late so I haven't had time to comment. I hope you have more planned; any chance of a supercar one?
  23. According to Peeron;
  24. The more I see these sets the more I want them... but I fear a $40 AUD pricetag... :-/ Oh my computer is fast enough, but even fast internet in Australia is slow. :-| Thanks very much for going to the huge effort of re-uploading the pictures. *sweet* Yes, I have a few of them. Great pieces too! *wub*
  25. Strewth! That's a lot of white... I can't wait to see it finished.
