  1. Hey guys, here's an upcoming MOC from me:
  2. The Map The game map utilizes the map created by Henry Bernberg with his permission. His map will be used to decide which sectors planets and hyperspace lanes are located in. The map below is a snapshot of his and can be used for general reference: There are 5 main hyperspace routes: Perlemian Trade Route, Corellian Run, Corellian Trade Spire, Rimma Trade Route, and Hydian Way. All other routes are treated equally. There are three ways to access different parts of the galaxy: planet control, sector control, and hyperspace routes. Planet control: If your Faction has IP on a planet, you may continue to build and gain IP on that planet. If you control a planet, you may build on any planet in that Sector. Example, if you gain #IP on Tatooine during an Episode or other contest and your faction would not have access to that planet otherwise, you may continue to build on Tatooine. However, you may not gain IP on Geonosis or any other planet in R16 until you have controlled Tatooine. (You may not use SoNE IP to seed the galaxy with planets to build on. SoNE IP is meant to be used in full or in whatever quantity is needed to control a planet.) ***Rule clarification 10/21/19*** Sector control: If you control a sector, you may also build in all 8 adjacent sectors. Example, if you control O7, you may also build in N6, N7, N8, O6, O8, P6, P7, and P8. Hyperspace routes: If you control a planet located on a hyperspace route, you may build on any other planet located on that route. If you control a sector that a hyperspace route passes through, you may build in any of the other sectors that the route passes through. A route is considered continuous for as long as it keeps the same name. Example: If I control the planet Trellen (M11), I can build anywhere along the Trellen Trade Route up to and including Kashyyyk (P9). However, I cannot build on any of the routes beyond Kashyyyk, because they all have different names. I also could not build on Gorse (O10) because it's not located on the Trellen Trade Route. But, if I controlled Trellen's sector (M11), I could build on Gorse or any other planet in a sector that the Trellen Trade Route passed through. The only exception is unnamed hyperspace routes (routes that are labeled "no data" when you zoom in and hover over the route. Unnamed routes are considered contiguous until they change direction from (mainly) north/south to east/west. For example, the unnamed route leading south from Columex (R6) could be considered continuous until Nimban (S10) when the unnamed route turns west. I also could not use the unnamed route running east/west through Boonta (S8) because it travels a different direction than the one I'm using. Another example, in Sector O6, the Braxant Run ends at Bandomeer. So if you control M6, you could build on O6, but you could not use that route to access the entire Hydian Way. Also on O6, there are two angles on the Celanon Spur at Drackmar and Botajef. Therefore, you could not use that route to go from M6 to P6. In the case that sector has no clear hyperspace routes entering the sector, you can access it by being adjacent to it. For example, the planet Jedha is found in sector H10, but has no visible hyperspace lanes. A faction may access it by controlling G9, H9, I9, G10, I10, G11, H11, or I11. Another example, Lothal is in U7 but only has a hyperspace route entering from above it in U6. If a faction is blocked from that hyperspace route, they could also access Lothal in U7 by having control of any of the sectors which are adjacent to U7. Factions have access to the entirety of the 5 Main Hyperspace Routes, regardless of angles, if they control a sector along the routes. Be sure to zoom into the Galaxy Map to make sure, or ask MKJoshA, LucasLaughing, BEAVeR, or goatman461 for a ruling before your team starts to build. Factions can block other factions from earning IP on planets that would otherwise be accessible. If the opposing faction must travel THROUGH a sector under the blocking faction's control, the blocking faction may post an interdictor and stop all ships from moving through the sector. (Opposing factions can still earn IP in the sector being blocked and builders can still post builds on inaccessible planets without earning IP for their faction. The 5 Main Hyperspace routes may not be blocked.) To block another faction, the blocking faction must: control the sector; build and post a 50+ stud-long interdictor in the blocked sector (does not have to be the Imperial design, build what you think an interdictor should look like, part of your points will depend on how much the judges agree with your concept); declare the blockade in each faction's pinned topic; post two new builds in the blocked sector every month (blockades will be discontinued if new builds are not posted between and a new 50+ stud interdictor must be built and posted) Controlling the Map Once a faction has earned 25 IP on a planet the planet is considered explored. Any Holocrons or other bonuses on that planet are discovered and visible to that faction. Once a faction has 50 IP on a planet, that planet is under their control. Opposing factions can take over or retake a planet by scoring 25 IP more than the current faction. Controlling 3 or more of the planets in a sector puts that sector under the faction's control. If more than one faction controls 3 or more planets in a sector, control is decided by who owns the most by simple majority. If there is a tie, the faction that controlled it most recently retains control until another faction gains the simple majority. If a sector has fewer than 3 planets, all planets must be controlled to control the sector. If a sector has no planets, the only way to control it is by placing a Space Station in the sector. Space Stations can be purchased by Factions under special circumstances that will be unlocked later in the campaign. Initial Map Set-Up We will give each player a couple weeks to choose which faction they want to join or create. After this initial period we will begin claiming territory. Set-Up began by each faction choosing 1 planet to be their starting point. The starting factions gained 50 bonus IP for that planet and thus gains exploration and control status of that planet. Order for picking will be based on total team XP from the previous round. After this the game begins and each faction can start building across the map.
  3. Yes! That is a brilliant technique and one I will have to borrow sometime.
  4. This is correct. Lego has not made non-printed LBG dual-molded legs.
  5. This is a beautiful build and certainly fits in Mitgardia! Your miller looks a lot like my sig-fig, but I'm sure that hairstyle is popular across Mitgardia.
  6. Thank you all for your kind comments! This was always intended to be a simple build, but I'm happy that it achieved the desired effect of detail in simplicity.
  7. Ask and you shall receive! I like your take, it's really hard to get her legs right.
  8. I didn't realize the book cover came in black. What's the part number? Here's what I've found recently:
  9. Introduce yourself, get to know your fellow players, and talk in general about the Factions game here. The game will officially begin once the 6 factions have been introduced. We are still waiting for a few of our faction leaders to finish up some real-life stuff before they are ready. So in the meantime ask questions and start building! We should have all the factions announced next week.
  10. No, that's a good tutorial, but I was specifically thinking Ecc had one for his version.
  11. Thanks SK! I've been wanting to build my own version of his tree and this shows the steps so it'll work.
  12. Hello fellow guildsmen. I'm looking @Ecclesiastes tutorial on spiny trees. My searching has produced nothing. Can anyone point me to it?
  13. Very excited for this year! I don't mean to be a bother because I really appreciate all your work on this. But I still haven't received my prize from last year. Any updates on 2017 prizes?
  14. This is not the thread for buying or trading. Please use the appropriate thread or take this to a PM
  15. I think the praetorian BP has two legs and 1 skirt. Anyone else seeing that in the picture?
  16. This is a perfect example of a post that does not belong in this thread. It should go in the general question thread. Please use this thread to talk about 2019 sets, not wish list items.
  17. AS @Balrogofmorgoth stated. This is not the place to discuss costume opinions. Please stay on target.
  18. Thank you for following the rules. @everyone else, time to calm down. Please act like responsible, respectable adults. Please don't get this thread locked.
  19. Ah yes, well as you can see, stories of Sinbad's demise were over rated
  20. Well since it was so long between MCRAs, I technically never left.
  21. With some minor modifications, Sinbad had the Komodo Dragon II built from the same plans as the Komodo Dragon. -- -- --
  22. Fantastic! If you're taking requests I'd like Zeus to raise a SR Island in zone 9, 10, 11 or 12.
  23. Yeah, not a fan. But they seem to be on a roll for re-designing helmets. Maybe this is just the new mold.
