  1. Hello everyone. I've updated the Character Index with all the XP from freebuilds and the last contest. Please look it over and tell me if you see any errors. This is the info we'll use to set-up SoNE 2.0.
  2. Character Index updated!
  3. Well, there's nothing stopping us from continuing to build in the AG world. Want to do a mini-collab with me to add to the Kawa story?
  4. Love the brickhead and I'm so glad to hear you'll be building SW again soon! You'll have to checkout SoNE 2.0 which we hope to launch in the next couple months.
  5. Which works great if you're a law abiding faction looking to be traders. For someone looking to use the black flag rules to their advantage, the rules weren't clear. The problem is this game has evolved in countless ways to accommodate trading mechanics but in very few ways to allow the Sea Rats to balance pirate activity (the reason most join the Sea Rats) with staying alive in a game that only rewards traders.
  6. The rules are starting to make sense, but the part you quoted is not what is happening. The ships in question, Sea Rat and Prio, were never registered as Black Flag. According to the rule you quoted it doesn't say who does the registering so it comes across that the ship owner has to do the registering because according to the rules the Black Flag form is the only way to register it as a Black Flag. Both sets of ships committed piracy, but they didn't commit piracy and were registered as Black Flag. If an act during the MCRA gives a ship Black Flag status, I think it's only fair for the owner of the ship to be notified of the status change. You can't assume they know because sometimes errors are made on the form. Telling a player they can find the information on the 2nd page of a webform, when it's updated correctly reminds me of a quote from Douglas Adams: “But the plans were on display…” “On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.” “That’s the display department.” “With a flashlight.” “Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.” “So had the stairs.” “But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?” “Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”
  7. But where was this stated before now? Clearly the entire SR team, leadership included, did not realize this was how the rule worked. The form allows a person to raise or lower the black flag. This led me to believe the status was changeable only by the player, not GM decisions. What my team is trying to tell you is that it doesn't seem reasonable to treat an NPC with more favor and grace than a player run team. Why were these ships never notified of their status change? Nowhere can one see what status their ship has.
  8. Found a site with UPC and DPCI numbers for those that like to use Brickseek. None in my area, but maybe you'll get lucky. 9. OoC: I'm looking at this from a game mechanics point of view. Please keep in mind that the incident in question happened very early on when the Black Flag option was introduced. Give us some leeway for learning the immense complexity of all the added rules. The rule you quoted just says the ships are considered Black Flag. It doesn't say their status is changed on the forms to Black Flag. So which is it? As an aside, where can we see which ships are marked Black Flag vs not? Still OoC, my argument is assuming a legitimate nation would take legitimate channels to deal with grievances. Prio is doing that now with LoM, but they started with an act of Piracy. Even if it was against pirates, game mechanics wise they committed piracy themselves.
  10. First off, we are not surprised at all. We fully excepted Prio to show their nasty colors and they have. The Sea Rat ships were not flying a Black Flag. You can't just consider them to be flying it because you want to. Either they were or they weren't. And they weren't. As such, that means Prio marked their forms to attack non-Black Flag Sea Rat vessels. That, according to the current rules, is an act of piracy and therefor makes the two Prio ships not innocent. Oh, those ships aren't going anywhere until they've paid their tab. And with 8000 DBs in their coffers, that should be no problem, right?
  11. Is it possible that not having his account setup would cause the license form to route somewhere different? He told me he submitted it both months, but that was before his account was created.
  12. May I remind you that from the Sea Rats' point of view, everything was settled when we left Jamestown. The port authorities didn't detain us and we went on our way. Did an unfortunate event happen during which a Prio ship happened to end up in the hands of a Sea Rat? Yes, an unfortunate mistake in paperwork handling on my part. We could have given the ship back in good faith, but then again we are Sea Rats so what do you expect? And we MOC'd the vessel in question so really we did the whole Brick Seas a favor by adding another MOC'd vessel to replace the horde of unMOC'd ones out there. So, with that first event over and done with we must look at what happened with the Peacock and Pearl. They actively attacked Sea Rat vessels who were not flying a Black Flag. Regardless of what happened before, that is an act of piracy and aggression. Even if you want to declare the actions regarding the Palmetto as wrong, you cannot say that Prio's attack on our innocent vessels was called for as 2 wrongs do not make a right. The Sea Rats, understanding that there may be some ill-will as we are still in possession of the Palmetto decided to only request Prio to pay their Bar Tab before leaving. And over that simple tab they have declared war and offered LoMs against us. I cry foul!
  13. I compared Mardier's stats to Prio on the July Account sheet. Mardier has 49,477 DBs from the start of the month and Prio/Romanitca only has 2,268. Mardier has 12 ships, Prio has 6 (and I think 3 of those are gone now). So your illustration falls short. Mardier does look much more powerful than Prio. I hope Prio's invented stats will reflect this.
  14. Thank you for all your responses. I think this information goes a long way to helping the Sea Rats understand the situation better. For the record, we aren't looking for a fast solution. We were hoping we'd get something a little more than DBs out of this. We just want it to be fair, not skewed against us. We do want to be able to raid settlements. It's just unfortunate that it's coming out when LoMs are being issued against us. It doesn't help the stigma that this game doesn't care about the Sea Rats. We're a quiet bunch and I know we have some blame because we haven't voiced our opinions as much. All I can ask for now is that the game masters allow the Sea Rats to be the rogue faction it was meant to be. Don't shoe-horn us into a check-box on a form.
  15. The Sea Rats certainly claim responsibility for trying to play things out. But to say this is our fault is uncalled for. Prio got feisty. We asked them to pay DBs and it's gotten pretty out of hand from there. And why in the world are NPCs a driving force? In a game that proclaims to be all about building pirate MOCs out of Legos, that is contradictory. Our problem is that the precedent is for crazy changes to come out of nowhere so we are reasonably worried about it happening again. This all depends on your definition of "everyone." So far the actions of the game masters has leaned heavily toward improving or advancing rules for traders. And only now, when people have a reason to want to attack Sea Rats, are the land combat rules being fleshed out. As a Sea Rat, that comes across as incredibly convenient for everyone not a Sea Rat. If the sheets don't show the nation's power then how is anyone supposed to play the game with them as an active force? Can we just come along and say we are buddies with the Moleki (spelling?) empire and that they have hundreds of ships sailing the seas right now? Where are the lines drawn? Please know that I'm not trying to pick out any one game master. I know a lot of work is being put into this on the back end. But it comes across as though the game masters have been busy making sure traders can build their own little DB empires. The Sea Rats saw a chance to have fun with something more than just trade value calculation. The Sea Rats have had little to no help in being unique as a faction in what actions they can take. The only thing that has been done is to allow Black Flags which really just means all the other factions can be a Sea Rat. So rather than help the Sea Rats, the game masters have neutered them. So please understand why we are hesitant now that all the game masters are jumping on us saying we've poked a bear and have to live with the consequences.
  16. Found it interesting that this pieces was available: WALL 1X4X6, NO. 1 Element 6210807 Design number 34732 Unit Price USD 0.65
  17. It's from the Justice League movie Aquaman.
  18. It's been a long winter. All across Mitgardia there is a constant vigil kept. The Algus, have been kept at bay but only because loyal Mitgardians have guarded the North. Wyndor and his men are some of those faithful warriors. Winter may have taken its toll, but Summer is here now.
  19. @Legostone @Capt Wolf I just licensed a ship but only put 3 instead of 4 crew. It's pulling the error that I entered 1 fewer stat point than I was supposed to. The ship is Warped Wood. Can you fix that for me?
  20. IC response: Ah, captain Mesabi perhaps you should have been a Sea Rat. Or perhaps all of Corrington has less honor than a faction of pirates. Stop your yakking and release our ships! The Strychnine will take effect soon, you don't have much time. Maybe you should have planned better, if I don't give the order to release you before I'm dead, what will you do then? Try to shoot your way out? You are guests now, but that could change very quickly. I know what I'm doing. If you did, you wouldn't have used Strychnine. You see, I spent that last few years building up an immunity to Strychnine. What!?! And while you've killed my guards, you didn't count on the 8 other captains and their crews docked here next to us. All the captains: So now you need to negotiate the release of your ships, and how you're going to pay for the damages done to the docks of Bastion. OoC Response: @LM71Blackbird I have considered your plight and your offer. I am going to hold your ship for this MCRA. That will be payment enough. After this one, you are free to sail away as long as you refrain from attacking any Sea Rats, Black Flag or otherwise for 3 months. If I happen to capture the Lightning during those months, I will release it back to you. If I sink it, you will receive my deepest apologies. @Mesabi I was going to consider letting your ship go after this MCRA. However, you now have damages to pay for destroying part of the dock and killing some of my men. Not to mention attempting to kill Sinbad. Your ship will be free to go after this current MCRA if you agree to pay 150 DBs for damages and promise not to attack any Sea Rats, Black Flag or otherwise for 3 months. If I happen to capture the HMS Red Angel during those months, I will release it back to you. If I sink it, you will receive my deepest apologies.
  21. Way back in Oct 2016, the Sea Rat Faction captured a ship, the Godfreed Faulk which is a class 2 vessel. It was un-MOC'd and so has not been in use before now. I built a small barge for a collab for Brickworld this year and intended to take pictures of it after the show to use as the MOC for this vessel. Unfortunately, I forgot about that plan until after I had already dismantled the ship. I have a couple pictures I snapped of it on display with the collab. I'd like to use these photos to license the ship. If there are any objections, please let me know now as our faction would like to sail it this MCRA.
  22. No worries about not being able to afford 5000 DBs. Bartering is part of the fun! Let me think about your offer. No harm no foul! (Yet!) I promise you both an answer tomorrow!
  23. Thanks Legostone, how do I apply this?
  24. I think you're referring to the A-Wing flaps from the Star Wars line. Are the black ones in stock? When I called a few weeks ago they wouldn't give them to me.
