MYSTERIES: Introduction and Rules
MKJoshA replied to MKJoshA's topic in Mysteries: A Star Wars Role-Playing Game
We have officially updated the map and rules! A few things to note. 1) We are now officially a Legends/Expanded Universe game! For everyone who loves the EU and its stories we are now a welcome home for you. Want to include Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade, or Natasi Dalaa? Mysteries is just the game for you! Love the new Disney content? You are welcome to include references to things like The Mandalorian or Bad Batch. But details that specifically contradict Legends events should be avoided. One big detail that we're using from Legends is that the New Republic keeps its Navy active instead of disbanding it. And Hosnian Prime will not be the galactic capital. But most things you'd want to include from the Disney timeline are probably fine. 2) We tweaked the map rules. Access rules remain the same, but we've added the rule that if your team controls a sector along a main Hyperspace Route you can access the rest of the route too. 3) We're working on some Mysteries specific tags for your EB profiles. We hope to have those ready very soon! We're excited you're part of the Mysteries RPG! -
It is a time of turmoil in the galaxy... The Empire has suffered defeat at Endor but is not willing to admit failure. The newly formed New Republic is still trying to assert control over the galaxy. Smugglers, bounty hunters, and mercenaries all try to navigate these changes. Intelligence is key. Stationed near Hosnian Prime, the old Republic space station Valor has become a hub of information gathering. Clandestine meetings lead to vital intelligence being passed along to New Republic, Imperial, and Mercenary leaders. But secret rendezvouses are not always safe. A zealot looking to make a public statement blows up a part of the space station. Each faction lost a key intelligence asset that day. While looking to fill the hole in their intelligence, each team learns of an information broker who might be willing to help them... for the right price. Armed with the knowledge that this broker can be found on Rorgam in the Terr'skiar Sector each team sets off to find him or her. Welcome! Welcome to Mysteries. A Star Wars RPG run by Eurobricks. Our goal is to provide a fun place for Star Wars builders to meet each other, grow in their building skills, and have fun playing the game. Mysteries is a story driven Lego SW RPG set during the time frame of The Mandalorian. Players choose 1 of 3 teams to join as they seek to assert their influence over the galaxy and solve its mysteries. Each team has access to different parts of the galaxy and different bonuses that can be applied to their member's builds. Freebuilds can be any size and are allowed any anytime. Special challenges happen regularly and will have building requirements and provide bonuses. Episodes happen as teams meet the requirements for each episode. Solve the Galaxy's Mysteries! This RPG is set roughly during 9 ABY. You will join one of three teams, each looking to exert influence on the galaxy. All three teams hope to make their mark on the galaxy. The teams are The Light Side, The Dark Side, and The Mercenaries. The first mystery will be solved by reaching Rorgam in P10. The first team to reach P10 by controlling P9, P11, O10 or Q10 will trigger the first Episode Challenge. We will have smaller challenges between now and the first Episode. A Brief History Lesson The Clone Wars ended in 19 BBY (before battle of Yavin) The first Death Star is destroyed in 0 BBY/ABY The second Death Star is destroyed in 4 ABY (after battle of Yavin) Operation Cinder begins in 4 ABY The Battle of Jakku happens in 5 ABY - this is the end of the Empire as the ruling force of the galaxy and the beginning of the New Republic The Mandalorian discovers the Child in 9 ABY Star Wars Mysteries is not part of Star Wars canon and therefore liberties will be taken in regards to characters, timeline, and stories. But we are going to use the canon timeline as a base from which to work. Getting Started Choose a team and announce it in the appropriate team thread. Once you choose a team you won't be able to switch so choose wisely! Create your sig-fig and fill out the Character Form. Your sig-fig will be used to keep track of your stats within Mysteries. We encourage using him or her in your MOCs for storytelling purposes, but it's not a requirement. Read up on the Core Rules here! This subforum, Star Wars Mysteries, is used for this game. As such, you should only post your entries to Star Wars Mysteries here. When posting a build for your team please include a prefix following this format [Grid-Team]. For example, [P7-LS] New Republic Forces for the Light Side, [M10-DS] ISD Bridge for Dark Side, or [S10-MC] Cantina Brawl for the Mercenaries. After you post on EB make sure to fill out a Submission Form so your builds can count toward your team's points. A sheet with all the public data from those form can be viewed on the Public Sheet. Teams There are three teams to choose from, each with their own perks. The Light Side This team is made up of those who call the Jedi allies and friends. The New Republic, CorSec, Rogue Squadron, etc. Within this team there are a number of sub-factions. You can build for any of your teams aligned groups at any time. Each group has a different bonus that can be applied to your builds. When you fill out a submission form for your builds you can choose 1 bonus per entry. If the judges feel your build does not include the bonus chosen we will remove the bonus. The New Republic: Include a senator in your build and get +2 XP CorSec: Include an intelligence agent in your build and get +3 XP Rogue Squadron: Include a one to two man starfighter in your build and get +5 XP The Dark Side This team is made up of those who call the Sith allies and masters. Imperial Remnants, ISB, Sith Cultists, etc. Imperial Remnants: Include an Imperial officer in your build and get +2 XP ISB: Include an intelligence agent in your build and get +3 XP Sith Cultists: Show a Sith artifact in your build and get +4 XP The Mercenaries This team is made up of those who look to profit from the highest bidder or have other values that don't fit nicely within the doctrines of the Jedi or Sith. Smugglers, Syndicates, Mandalorians, etc. Mandalorians: Include Beskar in your build and get +2 XP Smugglers: Show the smuggling of something in your build and get +3 XP Syndicates: Show a bounty hunter for hire in your build and get +3 XP Team Details Each team will work together to win challenges, access more parts of the map, and accomplish its own goals. The team is led by the Team Leader. To begin with the leaders are: @Stuartn for the Light Side @Professor Thaum for the Dark Side @Jody Meyer for the Mercenaries As the game progresses the leadership team will consist of the players with the highest XP. The Faction Leader will be the player with the most XP in his/her team. The Co-Leader will be the player with the 2nd highest score. Those two players may appoint further deputes to assist with leadership decisions and communication as necessary. If Faction Leader is out scored by another player, but is still an active member of the team, they will be allowed to continue to help with team leadership if they so choose. The team with the fewest total XP points may also gain a perk during challenges. Player Details To join a team you must create a sig-fig. Post your sig-fig and introduction in your team's thread. Then fill out a Character Creator form. You do not have to include your sig-fig in every build. You may only choose one team and will not be allowed to switch so choose wisely! Keep in mind that you are allowed to build any kind of aesthetic. So if you join the Light Side you can still build Imperial style MOCs. Each player builds for his/her team. As they build they will earn XP. The sum total of a team's player's XP makes up the team's XP. The Map Each team has access to different parts of the Star Wars galaxy. We are using Henry Bernburg's map with his permission. Reference that map for questions about specific locations within the galaxy. As you build for your team you will earn XP (Experience Points). Every XP will get placed in a grid on the map. If you build on any planet in M11 including Corellia or Bellassa you will earn points for your team in M11. If you build on Kashyyyk or Trandosha you will earn points for your team in P9. Every team starts out having control over 2 squares. You can only build in a grid your team owns and the ones immediately touching it. You have to build across the map to access new planets and squares. For example, the Light Side controls H16. Any Light Side player can build in a planet located in H15, H17, G16 and I16 as well. A team needs 100 points to control a grid. In the case the 2 or more teams have earned XP in a square control is granted to the team that reaches a 100 point milestone first. For example, if the Mercs and the Imps both build in O7 whoever earns 100 XP first will gain control of the square. If the Mercs reach 100 points first, the Imps can take control by earning 200 points before the Mercs do. Judging Every build submitted for Mysteries will get scored by at least 3 judges. The criteria by which your MOCs will be scored is 1) Storytelling, 2) Aesthetics, and 3) Technical Ability. You can earn up to 10 points in each category for a max total of 30 points per entry. Storytelling will be judged by how well your MOC communicates a story. Written dialogue or background can assist with this. But the emphasis will be whether the Legos tell a story by themselves. Aesthetics will be judged by how "good" you MOC looks. Do your colors clash? Have you used textures well? Do the minifigures fit the contest? Etc. Technical Ability will be judged by how well you use building techniques. SNOT, NPU, and movement are all elements of this category. People to Know This game is being run as a part of Eurobricks. If you have forum questions you can reach out to any of the Eurobricks' staff for help. @MKJoshA Is the Star Wars Moderator and Game Master for Mysteries. Reach out to him for specific Star Wars or RPG questions. You can also reach out to the current Team Leaders, @Stuartn, @Professor Thaum or @Jody Meyer.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
MKJoshA replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Lego has been changing the system constantly. But they stated it should take 3-4 months on average for new parts to be listed after their initial release in sets. Figure parts are often available for non-licensed themes. But it's never a guarantee. -

And I get that these things happen. But I feel that they should be more up front about wait times. Rare has been the time I've gotten an order in under 3 weeks. It's happened, but it's not normal. And I'm okay with waiting, just give it to me straight. I wait 8 months for LUGBulk. I can wait 2 months or more for PAB. Just tell me that's what's going to happen. -
Wow, is that a new cockpit technique !?! Great work all around.
