LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
MKJoshA replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well the past 3 pages have been pretty off topic. But the fact that you all have managed to have this deep a conversation and keep it to only 3 pages is impressive. As long as we can keep the conversation this civil and profitable you all may continue till it gets out of hand, someone complains, or we get actual news about new sets -

This is incredible! As soon as I saw your bartender I knew you were pulling from Outcast. Great reference I also really love that you've pulled in the Fallanassi EU story. Can't wait to see more. Your lighting really sets this MOC apart. Your builds are hitting amazing new levels. -

Nice build. The bright green and yellow really stands out and makes your MOC pop. Nicely done. -

Every time I leave you all alone for a couple days! I seriously love the talk about EU material and hearing from those who like the sequels. But it is off topic, let's keep that to the Media topic please. -
MYSTERIES: Introduction and Rules

Thank you for catching my errors and @Yperio_Bricks for the links. I've added the bonus 14 XP to your entry. And the single scores error on n1majneb's entry was a copy-paste error. I've fixed it too. The rest of the team wasn't ignoring you, it's that they were being overly patient with me. I should have fixed the error weeks ago. Buying a house has eaten up a lot more of my time than I expected. I'll have keys in about a month though so I'll soon be able to focus on other things. The Light Side currently has 89 points on L9. Whoever gets to 100 first will gain control. The Dark Side has access to L9 via the Hydian Way. So their entries are all legal. There are some outstanding entries to be scored which I will work on this week. Based on a fast look at the entries though I think it's safe to assume the Light Side will be taking it. Personally a little competition doesn't seem like a bad thing to me. Though I can understand feeling like the "attack" is unwarranted. I hope you can tell by the player's reaction that no hard feelings were meant. My goal is to have 2.0 ready by the end of Jan at the latest. That will give every team more goals to strive for besides just trying to take P10. That will help even things out I hope. Everyone, I love see all your MOCs and am glad for the community of builders we have. Thank you again for your patience with me. -

Just wanted to give a quick heads up that I'm looking into all this. If the Lightside took L9 first through points that will be accounted for. I'll get back to you all within 24 hours. Another thing to keep in mind, with the upcoming 2.0 there will likely be changes to where points are. Regardless, whatever you build now will help not matter who takes what square. -
1) I'm sure you could make a title crawl work after the opening, but to me that's not very Star Warsy 2) I agree with CloneCommando, Luke's Jedi Order would be the perfect place for someone like Ahsoka. 3) Purple. Mara's lightsaber should be purple.

Another big sorry for the long delay in responding. I'm closing on a house right now and the extra meetings + paperwork is intense! But that means I'll have a dedicated Lego space by Christmas So more builds and faster response times coming soon I promise! I checked your Aurora Squadron entry and it already had the extra 5 XP added. Maybe Thaum took care of that since you posted but I'm actively seeing it. You mentioned 2 inconsistencies, what was the other? -

You're entitled to your opinion, but so are the others. Perhaps a better way to put it would be "I would say you're wrong." Personally I disagree with your argument. I think the Rebels had uniformed portions, but overall were ragtag. I don't know about most people, but when I think of a great Rebel battle pack I think of the Rogue One BP with clearly ragtag soldiers. Sure, the Alderaanian soldiers had uniforms. And a battleship like the Phoenix One would need to have uniforms for their crew. But the nature of a rebel/gorilla group of fighters is a need to not stand out to the enemy. Clear-cut uniforms would be a dead give-away to the Empire. Sure, you need rank plates when you've got forces gathered together like on Hoth or Yavin. But there's no way the Rebellion could have required a uniform for most scenarios. Just my opinion and built on years of reading the EU books. Overall a fascinating discussion. And while technically on topic, it's taken up a lot of pages in the past few days. Feel free to respond to me comments, but let's give it a break for a little bit after that shall we? -

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

Just FYI, it's actually not okay to share direct links to leaked photos. We don't want traffic to be coming from EB to leaked photos that Lego takes down. That could jeopardize our relationship with TLG. You can tell people what to go looking for, but you can't link it directly. Thanks. -

I know the QC comments are technically off topic, but it's a soap box of mine so they are allowed I have these same feelings. I've overlooked issues in the past (which were far less frequent). But with increased issues and increased prices I feel like Lego is really missing the mark. Yes, Lego has a monopoly in some ways. But brands like Megablocks have really improved in the last 10 years. Hopefully that competition will force Lego to step up their game. They've done it before. Other brands are doing it now. It's possible! I think we all need to keep reaching out to CS with issues and be polite but very insistent that they hold to their own company motto: Only the best is good enough. -

Depends on your definition of "good." I still have brown break more than any other color. It's better than it was, but I wouldn't call it "good" yet myself. Wow. I have missing pieces in almost every new Lego set I get, something that never used to happen to me before. But getting a piece that hasn't been released yet is a new one. -

I'm really surprised the Sail Barge is already sold out in Europe as well as the GWP Lightsaber. I did not buy the set and don't plan to. Too expensive for not enough. But apparently plenty others decided it was worth it.
