Unless Promobricks has updated their info, what they said was if a Kaminoan was coming it could come in the Obi-Wan starfighter. Pretty sure that rumor has not been confirmed. -
MYSTERIES: Introduction and Rules
MKJoshA replied to MKJoshA's topic in Mysteries: A Star Wars Role-Playing Game
The Map Each team has access to different parts of the Star Wars galaxy. We are using skud14's map with his permission. Reference that map or Henry Bernburg's map for questions about specific locations within the galaxy. As you build for your team you will earn XP (Experience Points). Every XP will get placed in a grid on the map. If you build on any planet in M11 (and have access there) including Corellia or Bellassa you will earn points for your team in M11. If you build on Kashyyyk or Trandosha you will earn points for your team in P9. Each team can only build in grids controlled by the team and the ones immediately touching it. You have to build across the map to access new planets and squares. For example, the Light Side controls H16. Any Light Side player can build in a planet located in H15, H17, G16 and I16 as well. The exception are grids that have one of the 5 main hyperspace lanes running through them. If a team controls a grid with a hyperspace lane, they can build on any other grid that lane runs through. For example, if a team controls S3 they can access any grid along the Hydian Way. If another team controls M7 they can also access any grid along the Hydian Way including S3. A team cannot access adjoining grids of a hyperspace lane they have access to unless they control that grid. For example, if a team controls S3 they can also build in S2, S4, R3, and T3. But they cannot build in M6 (which is adjacent to, but not part of, the Hydian Way) unless they also control M7. A team needs 100 points to control a grid. In the case the 2 or more teams have earned XP in a square control is granted to the team that reaches a 100 point milestone first. For example, if the Mercs and the Imps both build in O7 whoever earns 100 XP first will gain control of the square. If the Mercs reach 100 points first, the Imps can take control by earning 200 points before the Mercs do. All 5 Main Hyperspace Routes are viewable here: Judging Every build submitted for Mysteries will get scored by at least 3 judges. The criteria by which your MOCs will be scored is 1) Storytelling, 2) Aesthetics, and 3) Technical Ability. You can earn up to 10 points in each category for a max total of 30 points per entry. Storytelling will be judged by how well your MOC communicates a story. Written dialogue or background can assist with this. But the emphasis will be whether the Legos tell a story by themselves. Aesthetics will be judged by how "good" you MOC looks. Do your colors clash? Have you used textures well? Do the minifigures fit the context? Etc. Technical Ability will be judged by how well you use building techniques. SNOT, NPU, and movement are all elements of this category. People to Know This game is being run as a part of Eurobricks. If you have forum questions you can reach out to any of the Eurobricks' staff for help. @MKJoshA Is the Star Wars Moderator and Game Master for Mysteries. I bought it on sale last year. It's a good set. But still overpriced even on sale. Grevious sets have been overpriced as a rule though so I'd say you're right to just bite the bullet and get it now. -
MYSTERIES: Introduction and Rules
MKJoshA replied to MKJoshA's topic in Mysteries: A Star Wars Role-Playing Game
Teams There are three teams to choose from, each with their own perks. The Light Side This team is made up of those who call the Jedi allies and friends. The New Republic, CorSec, Rogue Squadron, etc. Within this team there are a number of sub-factions. You can build for any of your teams aligned groups at any time. Each group has a different bonus that can be applied to your builds. When you fill out a submission form for your builds you can choose 1 bonus per entry. If the judges feel your build does not include the bonus chosen we will remove the bonus. The New Republic: Include a senator in your build and get +2 XP CorSec: Include an intelligence agent in your build and get +3 XP Rogue Squadron: Include a one to two man starfighter in your build and get +5 XP The Dark Side This team is made up of those who call the Sith allies and masters. Imperial Remnants, ISB, Sith Cultists, etc. Imperial Remnants: Include an Imperial officer in your build and get +2 XP ISB: Include an intelligence agent in your build and get +3 XP Sith Cultists: Show a Sith artifact in your build and get +4 XP The Mercenaries This team is made up of those who look to profit from the highest bidder or have other values that don't fit nicely within the doctrines of the Jedi or Sith. Smugglers, Syndicates, Mandalorians, etc. Mandalorians: Include Beskar in your build and get +2 XP Smugglers: Show the smuggling of something in your build and get +3 XP Syndicates: Show a bounty hunter for hire in your build and get +3 XP Team Details Each team will work together to win challenges, access more parts of the map, and accomplish its own goals. The team is led by the Team Leader. To begin with the leaders are: @Yperio_Bricks for the Light Side @Professor Thaum for the Dark Side @Jody Meyer for the Mercenaries As the game progresses the leadership team will consist of the players with the highest XP. The Faction Leader will be the player with the most XP in his/her team. The Co-Leader will be the player with the 2nd highest score. Those two players may appoint further deputes to assist with leadership decisions and communication as necessary. If Faction Leader is out scored by another player, but is still an active member of the team, they will be allowed to continue to help with team leadership if they so choose. The team with the fewest total XP points may also gain a perk during challenges. Player Details To join a team you must create a sig-fig. Post your sig-fig and introduction in your team's thread. Then fill out a Character Creator form. You do not have to include your sig-fig in every build. You may only choose one team and will not be allowed to switch so choose wisely! Keep in mind that you are allowed to build any kind of aesthetic. So if you join the Light Side you can still build Imperial style MOCs. Each player builds for his/her team. As they build they will earn XP. The sum total of a team's player's XP makes up the team's XP. -

There's a lot of negativity regarding TLG's decisions and people's opinions about them right now. For health of the forum and its members let's take a break from talking about the quotes sets and TLG's decisions for making them. Everyone take a breath. Don't post right away. And come back to the discussion at a later point. -
May the 4th 2021: Star Wars Concept Art Contest
MKJoshA replied to MKJoshA's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Hello all, wanted to poll the audience real quick. Over the years the May the 4th contest has gotten less and less participation. For this year's contest I want to make sure we get better participation. Do you all have any feedback on the contest format? Do you think we should keep it simple with 1-3 categories? Would there be enough interest to run a contest like Summer Joust and Space Jam over on Flickr if we had a prize for every category?- 58 replies

Talking about TLG's business methods in great detail is what is off topic. That conversation thread is no longer about what pieces are available, haul shots, or about the B&P site. -

Tell that to arm-printing Vader that was only in 2 sets. -
Nice work! If you're looking for ways to improve it I'd say the back section could be wider. Beef it out a little and maybe add some greebling.
-
I love your TIE Phantom, both the OT and First Order versions! The cockpit shape is perfect. And the greebling is spot on.
-
Thanks! The bush/tree is a an @Ecclesiastes technique. Yes, and I just got around to posting the 2nd part.

"That dwelling was named Menegroth, the Thousand Caves... The pillars of Menegroth were hewn in the likeness of the beeches of Oromë, stock, bough, and leaf, and they were lit with lanterns of gold. The nightingales sang there as in the gardens of Lórien; and there were fountains of silver, and basins of marble, and floors of many-coloured stones. Carven figures of beasts and birds there ran upon the walls, or climbed upon the pillars, or peered among the branches entwined with many flowers... But Túrin and his companions passing through great perils came at last to the borders of Doriath; and there they were found by Beleg Strongbow, chief of the marchwardens of King Thingol, who led them to Menegroth. Then Thingol received Túrin, and took him even to his own fostering, in honour of Húrin the Steadfast; for Thingol’s mood was changed towards the houses of the Elf-friends." -Tolkein, The Silmarillion I have been fascinated by Menegroth for a long time. Tolkien's description (much of it quoted above) always painted a vivid image in my imagination. I actually made a "first draft" attempt at Menegroth back in 2019. But I wasn't happy with it and planned to try again for this Turin series. I'm actually still not thrilled. I've captured the essentials that I had in mind, but have by no means done it justice. To do that I'd need more trees to create almost a stone forest. And trying to hide animals in the stone walls proved particularly difficult for me. The floor was made using this technique. And you can see the first part in my Turin series here. I don't know when I'll get to part 3. Maybe before Brickworld in June, but more likely afterwards.

The Mercenaries Many people operate from the shadows of the galaxy. Found in back rooms, seedy cantinas, corrupt boardrooms, or smuggler's holds those aligned with the Mercenaries can be seen in every corner of the galaxy. The Mercenaries Faction: The Mercenaries are more than just Bounty Hunters, here are examples of some of the many groups who form the Mercenaries. Smugglers Sometimes the quickest way to make a credit or two is to be quick. Getting past blockades, avoiding port fees, or dodging fleets of ships smugglers pride themselves in getting goods to their customers. Bounty Hunters Whether part of a guild or acting as a free-lancer bounty hunters can find your target, for the right price. With advancing technology making carbon freezing more safe for lifeforms it's only getting easier to have your bounty delivered to you warm or cold. Mandalorians After the fall of their planet to the Empire, the people of Mandalore scattered across the stars. Still a fierce race of people, and armed with personal Beskar armor, Mandalorians have many skills that make them sought after by anyone with enough credits or a job noble enough to attract their interest. How to join the Mercenaries To join the Mercenaries Faction, drop a message here or PM Leaders: @Jody Meyer or TBD, to express your interest. All builders are invited. There are no expectations for how much or what you need to build, and all building is encouraged and welcomed. Faction Information For RPG rules and information on game mechanics, please refer to the Core Rules Page, linked here: __________________________________________________________________________________ The Mercenaries is run by the Mercenaries Leadership Team. This consists of the two to three most active players, measured through numbers of builds, community involvement and helping to run the Team. All players however, are welcomed to participate in the decision making process and the way in which the Team is run will be flexible and dependent on member involvement and numbers of members. Faction Bonuses Throughout the RPG, each faction is offered XP bonuses which are redeemable by incorporating specific elements, figures or storylines into your builds. The current bonuses are: Mandalorians: Include Beskar in your build and get +2 XP Smugglers: Show the smuggling of something in your build and get +3 XP Syndicates: Show a bounty hunter for hire in your build and get +3 XP Most importantly of all: have fun and may the force be with you!

The Light Side The Jedi Code stated: There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force. Those who align themselves with The Light Side don't necessarily all follow this Code. But they at least seek to emulate the Jedi who followed it in days gone by. The Light Side Faction: The Light Side is more than just Rebel Scum, here are examples of some of the many groups who form the Light Side. The New Republic With the fall of the Emperor, and the eventual collapse of the Empire on the horizon, the Alliance to Restore the Republic transitioned into a new galactic government: the New Republic. Now boasting the largest and most advanced military force in the Galaxy. The New Republic is a conglomerate of member worlds, each represented in the re-instituted Galactic Senate. Membership of the New Republic offers economic benefits as well as the guarantee of its security umbrella, and its diverse members include the ecumenopolises like Coruscant and Hosnian Prime, pacifist states like Naboo and military powerhouses like Mon Cala, and industrial centers like Corellia and Sullust, governed on the Capital planet of Chandrilla. CorSec The industrial planet of CorSec has long maintained an effective military force - CorSec - to protect its interests abroad and defend its homeworld. Once aligned with the Galactic Empire the planet now pledges its allegiance to the New Republic, and alongside Mon Cala it is a major supplier of the New Republic fleet. CorSec also manages a major intelligence gathering operation, working continuously to ensure the complete destruction of the remnants of the Empire through systematic espionage and intelligence. Jedi Temple of Luke Skywalker With the dawn of the Empire, the Jedi Order was purged, however with the Return of the Jedi, and opportunity arises for a new generation of Jedi protectors. Trained by the Jedi Master Skywalker, the new temple is being rebuilt on a hidden jungle planet. Now disconnected from the New Republic, unlike the original Jedi Order that preceded it, the rebuilt Temple offer sanctuary and a haven for the training of new Padawans. How to join the Light Side To join the Light Side Faction, drop a message here or PM Leaders: @Yperio_Bricks, to express your interest. All builders are invited. There are no expectations for how much or what you need to build, but all building is encouraged and welcomed. The Dark Side The Dark Side is the powerful, malignant and often mysterious force, which terrorizes the Galaxy in the hope of obtaining one thing: total and absolute power. Since the Fall of the Empire, however, the free and open government of the New Republic has been spreading across the Galaxy, forcing the Imperial military into retreat. Despite the tides of war turning against their favour, the Dark Side remains a potent and aggressive force who believe they can lead themselves to a glorious victory! The Dark Side Faction: The Dark Side is more than just Imperials, here are examples of some of the many groups who form the Dark Side. Imperial Remnants After the death of Emperor Palpatine, the Imperial government splintered into many groups, each vying for the position as next Emperor of the Galaxy. But the often violent disputes caused the Empire to disintegrate, and now many loosely connected remnants carry on the fight against the New Republic and its member worlds. Led powerful warlords and many former Moffs of the Old Empire the Imperial remnants range from large sector-spanning governments to pockets of resistance in outer-rim worlds. Sith Cultists For millennia, the terrifying legend of the Sith has been the symbol of the power of the Dark Side. As rulers of the former Sith Empire, and head of the late Galactic Empire, the Sith seek power through manipulation and inspiring fear and hatred. Even with the contemporary Sith believed dead, Sith cultists still worship the legacy of the Emperor and the Sith before him, and many cultists work towards a final plan for Galactic domination, flying under the auspices of the New Republic. . . Imperial Security Bureau Although the Empire is in tatters, many parts of the Imperial war machine still function. Motivated by the cause of the Empire, members of the Imperial Security Bureau still serve the many segments of the Empire, eliminating their opponents through whatever means possible, and instilling fear through propaganda and terror. An elite and unconditionally loyal unit, the Imperial Security Bureau’s activities are devoted to cripple the New Republic through espionage, special operations and asymmetric warfare. How to join the Dark Side To join the Dark Side Faction, drop a message here or PM Leader : @Professor Thaum to express your interest. All builders are invited. There are no expectations for how much or what you need to build, and all building is encouraged and welcomed. MYSTERIES: Introduction and Rules
MKJoshA posted a topic in Mysteries: A Star Wars Role-Playing Game
Stationed near Corellia, the old Republic space station Valor has become a hub of information gathering. Clandestine meetings lead to vital intelligence being passed along to Rebel, Imperial, and Mercenary leaders. But secret rendezvouses are not always safe. Looking to make a public statement, our shadowy figure blows up a part of the space station. Each faction lost a key intelligence asset that day. While looking to fill the hole in their intelligence, each team learns of an information broker who might be willing to help them... for the right price. Armed with the knowledge that this broker can be found on Rorgam in the Terr'skiar Sector each team sets off to find him or her. Between the Imperial Warlords fighting for control and Isard sending commands from Coruscant no one seems to know what to do. The ISB has tasked us with re-establishing an intelligence network in the mid-rim. Secure the hyperspace lanes between here and Rorgam! Wedge is off helping Ackbar secure the Rebels' positions across the galaxy, Luke is searching for information on the Jedi, and we're left with little intelligence. Time to follow up on that lead from Rorgam! Stormtroopers being called back to protect Moffs and the Rebels are occupied with Imperial Remnants, this is a great time to be a Mercenary! Though we should work to secure our position. Someone track down that lead on Rorgam! Welcome! Welcome to Mysteries. A Star Wars RPG run by Eurobricks. Our goal is to provide a fun place for Star Wars builders to meet each other, grow in their building skills, and have fun playing the game. Mysteries is a strategy Lego Star Wars RPG set in the Expanded Universe/Legends timeline of Star Wars. Our game is focused on the Legends timeline and characters, but if you want to include elements from the Disney timeline like the Mandalorian that's fine as long as it doesn't contradict the Legends main events. Some of those events are detailed in the Timeline section below. This is a strategy RPG but we also want to help builders improve their skills. Any level of builder is welcome to participate and as a community we'll try to provide instructive feedback on how to take your MOCs to the next level. Players choose 1 of 3 teams to join as they seek to assert their influence over the galaxy and solve its mysteries. Each team has access to different parts of the galaxy and different bonuses that can be applied to their member's builds. Freebuilds can be any size and are allowed any anytime. Special challenges happen regularly and will have building requirements and provide bonuses. Episodes happen as teams meet the requirements for each episode. The rules were slightly updated as of 14.6.23. You can see the old intro posts here. Solve the Galaxy's Mysteries! The Mysteries RPG will start during 5 ABY. And we'll progress along the timeline as challenges and episode contests happen. You will join one of three teams, each looking to exert influence on the galaxy. The teams are The Light Side, The Dark Side, and The Mercenaries. The first mystery will be solved by reaching Rorgam in P10. The first team to reach P10 by controlling P9, P11, O10 or Q10 will trigger a special challenge. We will have smaller challenges between now and then. A Brief History Lesson The Clone Wars ended in 19 BBY (before battle of Yavin) The first Death Star is destroyed in 0 BBY/ABY The second Death Star is destroyed in 4 ABY (after battle of Yavin) The Lusankya leaves Coruscant in 7 ABY The Thrawn Trilogy takes place 9 ABY *The Mandalorian discovers the Child in 9 ABY *Since this is part of the Disney timeline it is not ranked as highly as Legends events The Jedi Academy Trilogy takes place 11 ABY Star Wars Mysteries is not part of Star Wars canon and therefore liberties will be taken in regards to characters, timeline, and stories. But we are going to use the Legends timeline as a base from which to work. Getting Started Choose a team and announce it in the appropriate team thread. Once you choose a team you won't be able to switch so choose wisely! Create your sig-fig and fill out the Character Form. Your sig-fig will be used to keep track of your stats within Mysteries. We encourage using him or her in your MOCs for storytelling purposes, but it's not a requirement. Read up on the Core Rules here! This subforum, Star Wars Mysteries, is used for this game. As such, you should only post your entries to Star Wars Mysteries here. When posting a build for your team please include a prefix following this format [Grid-Team]. For example, [P7-LS] New Republic Forces for the Light Side, [M10-DS] ISD Bridge for Dark Side, or [S10-MC] Cantina Brawl for the Mercenaries. After you post on EB make sure to fill out a Submission Form so your builds can count toward your team's points. A sheet with all the public data from those form can be viewed on the Public Sheet. -

Just keep tabs on eBay and Facebook Marketplace. If you're patient and are willing to scroll through the full "Lego Star Wars" search results eventually you'll strike gold. Find someone who's listing a bulk lot of Lego and don't know the gems they have and you can get great sets for closer to MSRP.
