  1. You're informed of your acceptance into the regiment and your assignment via a personal message letter
  2. Mason?! I thought you decided to not sign up. Did they force you to join the 42nd? And oh my, they gave you nice golden epaulets and a tricorne. Does this mean you're leading us into battle? I'm sure those golden epaulets will attract the attention of Monsieur Shadón. edit: fixed a typo in Mr. Shadón's name.
  3. Market Street uses relatively common pieces (it was based on the then available piece selection, nothing was taken specifically into production for it), so it might not be that expensive. However, I have a feeling things could get much more expensive when you try that with any of the other modular buildings.

    MOC: Renault 4

You managed to capture the shape pretty accurately. I think you could avoid the gap in the rear by building the whole rear section on a 3 x 4 surface and mounting the whole thing (SNOT) on the back. Furthermore, the side of the car is pretty well proportioned, but I feel it's too narrow for it's length/too long for its width. And whereas the width is approximate minifig scale, the length isn't (although it's hard to define minifig scale, so it might be a matter of preference, but it's definitely too big to fit into the current City line). For minifig scale, I think the wheels are too large and personally I don't think those wheel arches really fit with such a small car.
  5. Looks like there'll be another little bulldozer on the way soon...
  6. Nice little gas station indeed. I like the smooth tiled finish of it.
  7. Rick Aellot proud to serve in the 42nd.
  8. Yeah, I saw that earlier. Congrats. Looks like they finally picked up on it as well. But come on, you've been featured on a better blog before
  9. I haven't seen CopMike offer to arrange trades between winners. He will probably have plenty of work collecting, packing, and sending the prizes as they are now. I guess you'll just have to wait for a reply by CopMike here.
  10. The Pirates wall pieces in the Imperial Fort set were stickered, so don't get your hopes up.
  11. Agreed, it doesn't work as a decorative piece in most cases, but it's even worse when they use it to replace regular plates! Doesn't this just show you have a lot of Lego?
  12. I picked the hair color and the facial expression in an attempt to match my real me, but it didn't end up looking like me too much. I have shorter hair, which is already half gray. And I'm not a fire fighter either. Also, the only resemblance to my current Ricky Racoon avatar is my first name....
  13. I like the use of basic colors a lot, so I don't mind the red at all. The decal is integrates really nicely with the yellow stripe running along it. And the use of the same small yellow windows as on the green car 'unites' the whole train.
  14. Blogged on Classic-Town.net
  15. Thanks for the tip. Nice one to remember for a rainy Sunday afternoon.
  16. I feel so 'normal' after reading this thread I buy most sets for the set and not for the bricks and I make sure I keep the bricks that belong to the set with the set. Also, my childhood collection is kept totally separate from my AFOL collection. And I only have 'new' bricks in my bulk supply (mainly from sets bought for parts, usually at a discount).
  17. Those aren't toes. It's just meant to be decorative. And by having two different sides it can be used with or without this decoration showing. Use your imagination... look past the skeleton leg. Most of the minifig torsos and heads used in the City line are overused, but that 'Steven Spielberg' face is definitely at the top of the list! Plus I'd like to see less caps and more minifig hair being used.
  18. Welcome to EB slacker int
  19. Gefeliciteerd, have a happy birthday tomorrow Teddy (a birthday you share with a Duplo-loving member of my family )!
  20. Woohoo!!! Those prizes are awesome. Thanks CopMike!
  21. Looks great together this way! The brown docks are much better than the 'classic' black. Now just get rid of those redcoats!
  22. This is a really nice and realistic MOC, Adam. I really like the construction of the boom (the brick-built striping is a nice little touch) and the fact that you made it 7-wide in the back. Also the long nose is a nice break from the typical flat-nose vehicles that TLG tends to produce. btw: There are some really nice CAD as well as brick-built creations in your MOCpages
  23. DkStone, 'dark stone' the color, also know as 'new' dark gray or dark bley.
  24. (my second one as well...)
  25. I think members with a staff or fellow rank get a country flag.
