13?! You've certainly managed to climb ranks in the blue coat army fast Happy B-day general, may you get lots of blue coats (or allied soldiers).

Oh no: once they reach the center of the earth they are going to get shot into space through a volcano and they're going to mine on the moon. But seriously: I guess you're right Oky Wan.

Thanks for a very extensive and amusing review! Quite some interesting and unique parts in it. Although I'm not a games-fan, the game sounds pretty unique, i.e., not just some generic game 'Lego-fied'. And... lots of minifig babies!

Welcome back, you're just in time for the Imperial Flagship (10210).

I thought the collectibles were supposed to be totally separate from existing lines, so I doubt it. At least they haven't lost the mold for the forest man hat yet.

Welcome to EB. 2010 brings a new castle line that most castle-fans here seem to get enthusiastic about

With the Modular Buildings it sometimes happened that I forgot to add a piece here or there (but not a whole door ). I have a tendency to skip the piece list for every building step as well. With other models it doesn't happen that often.

Nice scene. I really like all the sea creatures you've created: very creative. The temple is really well done as well. I just don't like the mix of yellow and flesh minifigs.

I just got this set (on sale for €5 ) and I basically agree with prateek's opinion: the fenders could use some detailing, but other than that a really nice model. However, I have one question about the model for all tractor experts here: What is the detailing on the left side of the tractor supposed to represent? The long bar on the right side is obviously the exhaust, but is the 1 x 4 plate covered with the tile and the grilled tile on the left also some sort of exhaust?

That's indeed what I like about Dennimator's model: the creative use of rounded parts for the front, but I probably would have also chosen to have a (full, cause he says half a fig will fit ) minifig being able to sit in the car. Overall: I like how both Beetles turned out.
-
Be careful: you don't want CopMike to send your raffle prize to fit in this VW Beetle only

Welcome. You may want to check out the guidelines and index of tutorials (in general the pinned topics in the 'website and forums' forum are useful). And you can always introduce yourself in the 'Hello! My name is...' forum.

The color scheme is really a welcome break in the Creator houses line. And the attention to (exterior) detail is great. The inside indeed is a little cramped, but from the outside it looks great. Just hope the price won't be above €35. So far these Creator houses have been excellent value for money. Maybe this one has a wider piece variety than previous houses (more different, small elements) that would explain the higher price point?

After reading Ralph_S' topic I realized you had a little 'building competition'. You certainly managed to capture the round front in a pretty realistic way. Too bad it can't seat a minifig: it doesn't blend in as well with 'System' Lego as Ralph_S'
-
Exactly my thoughts. I also think this is the best one to date. Maybe not in piece selection, which most 'complaints' seem to be about, but the models certainly have a nice holiday atmosphere. Except maybe for the cop, but the traffic light is nice to have nonetheless.

Right, and if I recall from previous prelim pics, minifigs and accessories are most likely to be changed last-minute: new molds, new printings, etc...
-
Given that Lego doens't lend itself at all to building a VW Beetle, you've done a terrific job. I really like that a minifig fits in, which many of the 'rounder' version don't allow. I agree with Dennimator that you've managed to capture the back side really well. The front is a little 'blocky', but I wouldn't be able to offer a suggestion how to make it rounder. Really nice job.
-
The one with the little roof looks much more 'finished' and so much more like an actual set, so I'm definitely hoping it's that one. However, I see your reservations. Where did the pic without the prelim/confidential stamp come from again (what's the source)?

Ho ho ho, and a Meeeeeeeeeeeeerry Christmas to all of you...

They just changed the mold for the 'fire piece' to not have the two small bars that would fit a dragon's mouth. So, any hopes of TLG bringing back the old dragon are really really really slim. Well said. Nostalgia makes the classic sets look way better than they objectively are, and that's not bad at all, but just don't expect TLG to still be producing products like they did in the 80s and 90s. I remember not liking 6-wide City vehicles when TLG started to release them in the early 2000s, but that was because I was used to 4-wide trucks from my childhood. Objectively seen, it seems kind of strange to have 4-wide trucks and 4-wide cars at the same time, so now I'm happy that TLG releases pretty detailed 6-wide trucks and 4-wide (and the odd 6-wide) cars. Concerning castle: these castle sets are far from 100% realistic - the walls are too low, there's lacking interior, etc., etc. - but comparing that to the 80s is setting the wrong benchmark, because castles back then 'suffered' from the exact same 'design flaws'.

Really nice picture. How did you make the dishes stick on the antennas?
