  1. Thanks for the text version. Interesting to hear/read some background on the Winter Toy Shop. It must be a strange sensation for a set designer to have your designs from two years ago only released now. I can imagine they think sometimes: "What's all the fuzz about, that's old news, wait 'till they see what we're working on now". It must be the extreme version of seeing pictures of a set (like the Imperial Flag Ship) and only being able to order it three months or so later. Which reminds me: isn't it time for an official announcement of the Grand Emporium (10211) set?
  2. That's my view three and... why does every 'action' set need to have a big saw blade and a claw nowadays? Although I like the SNOT design on this, it doesn't look too waterproof
  3. Welcome back... good luck on staying away from the mafia games
  4. Happy B-day Hewman and the rest who really have their birthday today...
  5. Really nice one to finish of the series The Brickster. The decorated arches from the adventurers line work really well here, it's really the eye catcher of the MOC. Brown plates indeed would have looked better, but black doesn't look too bad here.
  6. I really like the surrealistic aspects of this. I knew those minifig stands would quickly be used as leaves by someone. Very tastefully done: I really like the color combinations on this one. And that 'grand emporium' plant has really grown...
  7. A delicious 2010 That right threesome of cherries looks a little like a playful jumping puppy...
  8. Videos like these are the essence of Monty Python. Simply brilliant. If it weren't for them we'd still be looking for a word to describe meaningless forum posts. And... if they'd taken this sketch in a different direction we might be calling them 'bacon and eggs' posts.
  9. It magically happens, you just have to wait. Seriously: it gets moderated before becoming public, so it requires human intervention. In the meantime, you can deeplink your images, perhaps using thumbnails.
  10. They look a little 'iffy' in quality towards the edges of the helmets... but it's a nice design.
  11. I'll say it again: impressive progress. I really like the color schemes you picked for them. Hope you'll be able to give all of them some unique features in addition to the color scheme.
  12. Nice MOC! Too bad you had to - supposedly - cut a bar to length for this.
  13. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (sorry, excuse me just this once) Can I hug you?
  14. It's still 'yesterday' here too, but to everyone far enough to the east: Happy New Year! And my two favorite fora on Eurobricks (Trains & Town and Pirates) seem to be most popular among a lot of you! Thanks to the staff for managing the best and most comprehensive Lego-related website and I think we can all look forward to a good year, Lego-wise at least.
  15. Cafe Corner is sold out for good for quite some time alreaady (there was an announcement from someone at TLG) and I thought Green Grocer is no longer produced, but is still available from Lego. Emerald Night should still be available for a while.

    Happy New Year

Happy New Year... to all Kiwis (New Zealanders)
  17. I'm not a space fan myself, so I'm not that shocked , but wouldn't it have been a little cheaper to sell a couple of those torsos and buy multiples of plain yellow torsos instead?
  18. Eeehm, eleven figs isn't enough for 72 winners (unless there's more of each of course). But "more than one fig for each prize"? That's extremely generous
  19. This is a great set. One of the last town sets I got before my dark ages. The mechanism is very ingenious indeed. I'm glad none of my minifigs looks like yours...

    Eis Pirat

This is brilliant 'Erdy'. I really like the color scheme you used and the attention to detail is great (the different ice cream flavors, the big cone outside, the decorative whips, ... Is SlyOwl going to finish that big bowl of ice cream?
  21. Welcome to EB. You'll be surprised at how quickly you have a collection again that is at least as big as your childhood collection. Lego is so addictive...
  22. It's probably Australian
  23. I don't think dark red would look good (and you probably won't have the parts anyway). Both of these look fine. I think one color for the rails would be most realistic (in your case black, because the tiles on top are black), but the brown looks fine as well.
  24. Welcome to EB. Australians are nice people, but that's based on a probably heavily biased sample of Australian AFOLs active on EB.

    City 2010

Great find... sounds promising. And the speculation about the TRU exclusive remains... only now we have a set number
