No, I guess in the U.S. it's a politically incorrect term and that's why they use 'native Americans', but I don't know the ins-and-outs about it either.

Good spotting on the alphabetical order. Never realized 'Indian' was 'not done', but it fits the alphabetical order perfectly here. #4 must then be 'Cowboy', not too hard after all. Any chance of updating the poll? (edit: ok, I see it's not possible)

Shipwreck Links, Hole 3 (featuring micro-scale Eldorado Fortress)
Rick replied to Pellaeon's topic in Pirate MOCs
The micro Eldorado Fortress is really well-done. I like all the action on such a small area. But... I thought this was a replacement for your original golf course entry. Wasn't that one 'forced' into the medium category as well? (1000th post, yay! ) -
Yeah me! Too bad the picture quality isn't a little better. But at least it shows all the nice little details, like Armendariz in a barrel and the black and blue detailing on one of the houses. You'll be a serious contender in the large division.

When are we going to change our banner?
Rick replied to pr0visorak's topic in Forum Information and Help
Well at least Spongebob is getting his megablocks kicked on this one No banner is complete without Spongebob! -
Looking good again. Start of a new series?

Clown, for the novelty factor of it, but almost all of them are great. I'm a little less impressed by the diver, the wrestler, and the zombie, and the indian and the ninja, because they look just like the classic figs.

What's the Biggest and Smallest Lego Piece of All Time?

As Destoydacre said: I don't know however if the difference in density is sufficient to render a conclusion based on weight useless... Science nerd wanted! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Rick replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I remember the info about random minifig pieces being 'out there' for some time, but from what source did this info come? You'd have to be able to actively trade parts for this to work (kids could do that amongst them, while we AFOLs likely have to resort to the internet ). It makes it less attractive to me, because I'd have to spend €2.50 a couple of times for a random selection of minifig parts and then start trading doubles etc. to get the figs I want, which will likely be the figs everyone wants... Could be good business for BL traders though. -
Why don't European boxes have the piece count?
Rick replied to The Green Brick Giant's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I also usually check piece counts on the internet before buying. Especially for discounted sets that I mainly buy for parts. I guess we've implicitly found the answer in this thread. TLG would like to not disclose the piece count on boxes because people will start comparing across brands and see that one Lego piece is more expensive than another rip-off brand piece. Because U.S. regulators like to keep customers like Darth Legolas 'stupid' , TLG is forced to put the piece count on boxes in the U.S. -

Best Lego shop in or near The Netherlands
Rick replied to Pally's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
That seems impossible. All the Dutch 'cheap' webshops have them at equal or higher prices than S@H, if they have them at all. That suggests TLG is not selling them to retailers at prices much lower than S@H prices, if they sell them at lower prices at all. -
I really like the wall and those buildings are pretty nice as well. I would have left out the hanging scene, ... but that would be a personal preference, I know a lot of pirates fans can't resist a bit of violence here and there,

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Rick replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Now that I think of it again: another option would be for TLG to put the numbers on opaque polybags and don't actively advertise what fig has what number. That way everyone could prevent getting doubles, AFOLs could search for the fig they want, and 'regular' customers will still get a 'surprise' fig. Feel free to use this idea TLG (please do!). -
Very original idea for an entry. You've made a really nicely 'crowded' scene. I really like all the details on the sea bottom and the design of the buildings on the shore.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Rick replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Agreed. This could hurt their brand value. I hope they'll change their mind on the inability to see what you're buying. But then again, this seems to be one of the basic ideas behind these. I hope they'll just stick with a 'collect them all' slogan or something. And I certainly don't hope they'll make some harder to get than others. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Rick replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
There's some pretty good ones. Although I don't like clowns normally, the minifig version is just sweet. Some more highlights: cheerleader, caveman, forestman, and some figs with pretty neat new hairpieces. Some figs are a little disappointing, because there's nothing new in them compared to their classic version: the diver, the indian, the ninja, and the zombie. That forestman hat looks like a new mold. It looks less pointy than the classic hat, but that could just be the picture. I'm gonna feel so embarrassed 'feeling' those bags. -
Nice review. I'm slowly starting to get used to the lime-blue combination. At least on this one it looks pretty good. And all the chrome accent really look good.

That yellow on the train station looks like it lights up in the dark (is that why they're called Enlighten?). More and more of these clone brands are starting to show up here in the Netherlands, but I'd never consider buying any of this ^%*&.

Nice WIP. The figurehead looks impressive. Oh, and I agree with Blackmoor: go for plain gunports.

And this lottery ticket is even free... pretty good odds if you ask me

Hands off my cake! Thanks everyone!

What's the Biggest and Smallest Lego Piece of All Time?
Rick replied to JCC1004's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's the blue 32 x 32 baseplate thats been around for ages and will be re-released next year (this is the 2010 'box' art). But I absolutely fail to see how this relates to the topic.
