  1. Thanks for another in-depth review of one of the new vehicle sets, even though it's far from my favourite 2014 City vehicle. I personally think the previous two 4x4s in the City line look a whole lot better. The design looks... too simple compared to them. A van instead of a SUV might have been a nice change, but I guess it doesn't have the same appeal to the target group. And although the jetskis look great, we've had our fair share of jetskis in recent years. How about a van with two windsurfers? I'll probably be skipping this set (unless I find it at an irrestible price of course ).
  2. The key word was "you". There should be a technic hole with a brick in front of every topic you (that's you ) replied to.
  3. You can, although some may consider it "not done".
  4. Thanks, this was exactly what we were aiming for. Vote away! Be sure to read the voting rules carefully.
  5. It's Voting Time! Thanks to everyone who entered the fourth annual Expand the Winter Village Contest. It has been inspiring to see so much creativity in a relatively small space. After the success of the first three editions, we have a record number of 54 qualifying entries this year! You can now vote for your favourite entries by replying in this topic. Please read the voting rules below carefully and use this thread for voting only. We'd love to hear your feedback on the competition in the discussion thread. Voting closes on Wednesday, January 15 at Midnight GMT. Voting Rules - You have a total of 5 points to award - You may not give more than 3 points to a single entry - Post your votes in the voting format shown below (list entry number, builder, and number of points awarded) - You may not edit your post (posts edited more than one hour after the vote was placed will not be counted) - Votes that do not comply with these (simple) rules will not be counted - You must have joined Eurobricks prior to January 1, 2014 Examples of Correct Votes 7. 6. It wasn't a requirement. Some people started doing it and others followed. Your entry qualifies.
  7. Happy New Year to everyone and thank you so much to everyone who entered the competition. We have a record number of entries this year, with some very original ideas for expanding the Winter Village Market. Expect a voting thread to be up in the coming days. To all entrants: Please make sure that the first picture in your thread is the one you like to be used for the voting thread.
  8. Indeed. What I was trying to say is that the only thing that's allowed outside of the 16x16 base are minifigs (of course they can also be included on the base itself). In your case the animals should be removed or placed on the baseplate.
  9. Thanks for entering the competition. I'm sorry but we're going to have to be strict - as we've been here - and only allow minifig or minidolls outside of the 16x16 stud base. So, please change your pictures accordingly.
  10. Thanks Nieks. I'm sorry we have to be so strict. Feel free to link to the other images or a flickr set.
  11. Yes, it does, but it goes for all your (maximum of 5) entry pictures. You cannot show the train separate from the base. I know this may sound childish, but it could significantly alter the rules of the game if we allow you to "unpack" your entry for presentational purposes with the only requirement that it can all be loaded on a 16x16 base plate.
  12. Thanks for entering the competition Nieks. I'm afraid Cara is right. Only minifig or minidolls are allowed outside the 16x16 stud base, also for presentational purposes. I hope you have the time today to slightly redesign your entry and submit new images for the contest.
  13. Thanks for embedding larger images. Unfortunately, the maximum size for embedded images is 1,024 x 768 pixels all over EB. Could you please resize your images or, alternatively, upload the pictures to flickr and deeplink a smaller version without the need to manually resize them (check the links in my signature for tutorials on how to do this). Thanks.
  14. There was a topic about LEGO Serious Play in the General forum, which I have now moved to Special Themes and merged with yours.
  15. A picture of what looks like a remake of LEGO's Classic Space ships has surfaced in a book about the LEGO Movie. Could this be Benny's space ship in the movie? Join the discussion in the Special Themes forum. Thanks to Canticleer blues for bringing us this news.
  16. I have moved the posts about the pre-order (problems) out of dj2005's review thread into the Parisian Restaurant news & discussion thread.
  17. Here's a picture showing both. It's from Hinckley's The Forest Mafia game. The Fabuland roof support, which is part of the complete roof assemblies has a 2 x 6 base, so it's fits on both System and Duplo pieces. Yes, the different characters have names, although they're different in different languages. Check out the Fabuland review index for the English names of some Fabuland characters. You can also look up the instruction booklets in various languages on peeron or Worldbricks. Check out the FBG discussion index and the Fabuland index. I'm sure you get an idea of the articulation of Fabufigs from the many topics linked in there. The articulation is similar, although the heads allow for much larger movement.
  18. Thanks for the in-depth review Rufus. I really like the exterior of the camper. Despite the bland back, they really managed to improve on the previous version. And although the interior is a lot better than its predecessor, it's still a little sparse though. I had hoped they had a try at a little kitchen and maybe a combined seating/sleeping area. I have to admit that I have no idea how that could be achieved though.
  19. Thanks for letting me play TinyPies.
  20. Global Moderator and Reviewers Academy Teacher WhiteFang reviews the latest addition to the Architecture line: 21021 Marina Bay Sands. Check out the full review in the Special Themes forum.
  21. Provided I can get away from work (which is a big if ), I'm going to try to make it this year.
  22. Yay! Bonus! You're the bestestest Mike.
  23. Because Eurobricks is an international site, we only allow English as a language. Please refrain from posting in other languages. Thank you.
