Newbie help with measurements for our first LEGO City?
Rick replied to theboyk's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Even though your questions are about a combination of setting up a town and train layout, I'll move this to the Train forum because I expect you'll get the best responses there. -
I'm not sure what it's like for other adult-oriented sets, but the Modular Buildings have the bags numbered per floor, which still leaves 500-800 pieces for bags with the same number. This used to be the size of the biggest sets until about 10 years ago, so not much has changed in that respect. Sets targeted at a younger audience use the modularity prominently as a way to sell the product on the back of the box and pack 50-100 pieces per bag nowadays. I'm sure TLG has researched this. Apparently it has become more important to achieve instant results quickly, for example, being able to build the car that goes with a police station within a short period of time, instead of having to sift through a big pile of pieces.

Welcome to EB. Probably through Gravatar or some other account linked to your e-mail address. Once you have 10 posts, you can edit your profile, avatar/photo included.

lego911, I've copied your models for the car building competition from the "Entries" thread to a separate topic, so everyone can comment on them.

We allow trading/selling for long-term members under strict conditions only. You may be doing this to help your fellow AFOLs, although your last post makes me doubt that. Either way, the rules on trading/selling are in place for a reason. Therefore: topic locked.

Eurobricks Event 2014 - Information Topic
Rick replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
They're called "Wild West Cabins" now. After a bit of back and forth via e-mail I managed to get the Event rate of 1,095DKK per night two weeks ago. -
Please treat each other respectfully. We don't need these kind of arguments on EB. Let's focus on discussing LEGOLAND exclusive parts in this topic. I've changed the title of the thread accordingly. Just to be clear: this argument is over. If either of you has anything more to say about it, use the PM system, so the rest of the EB member base isn't bothered by it. Thanks.

TUTORIAL Posting deeplinked pictures from the NEW Flickr
Rick replied to Fugazi's topic in Forum Information and Help
I've had a look at your tutorial. Instead of grabbing the HTML code you can click the pin next to the "< / >" symbol and get BBcode which you can paste into EB's post editor directly. -
Yes, we enforce signature limits. When you encounter a signature that you think is in violation of our guidelines, please report it using the Report button on of their posts (practically, you have to report one of their posts, because people have reported problems reporting members by clicking the button on their profile pages) and mention it's a signature problem.

Nice work. The half-dome on the back looks great. Since, despite it's size, it's micro-scale, I'll move it to Special Themes.

Discussion Should LEGO make a Military Theme?
Rick replied to KisKatona's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Guys, you both have repeatedly said you wanted to drop the argument. You have a different opinion on this topic and you both seem to understand each other's opinion. This argument ends right here. You're free to discuss this issue further through PM, but not in this thread. Thank you. -
Thanks. Merged.

I merged your thread with an existing thread on the same topic, one with a more neutral title too. I can understand you're frustrated, but please try to not turn your post into such a rant.

Discussion Should LEGO make a Military Theme?
Rick replied to KisKatona's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think the different and strong opinions expressed by some in this thread explain perfectly why TLG is not making "modern" military sets. I agree with some of you that this thread is unlikely to move past different views being expressed over and over again. At the same time, I don't think that's a reason to lock a thread. So, I'm keeping this thread open for now in case someone has something new to add to the discussion. -

Chalet booking confirmed for the Fangy family and myself (I still haven't received any payment details yet, though) by the Legoland Holiday Village, so I should be there... -
You were all told to stop arguing about what's a "rumour" or not, so - for the final time - get this thread back on topic or we'll be forced to take other actions. We don't tolerate members addressing each other like this. Consider this your final warning.
-
It's kind of pointless to bump the thread to add this, don't you think?

Eurobricks member Tijger-San built Larry's Coffee Bar as a perfect companion to the Parisian Restaurant for the LowLUG modular building contest. Be sure to have a look at all the pictures in the Town forum to uncover the innovative part uses and all the interior and exterior details.

Discussion Should LEGO make a Military Theme?
Rick replied to KisKatona's topic in Special LEGO Themes
You're all free to have different opinions on this issue, but please keep this discussion civilised and focused on arguments. -
Let's do just that then and get this thread back on topic again, everyone. PM is the way to go.
