Ever wondered if Modular Buildings and Friends is a good combination? Denil85 proves it is with The Horsemen Town Square.

As the end of the year is drawing near, we start to look forward to Christmas and it may very well look like this romantic image of "A Child's Christmas in Eastern Ontario" by kjm161. Check out the eye-pleasing exterior and insanely detailed interior in the Town forum.

I spy new 'square' mudguard pieces (in the bank robbery and tow truck sets). For the rest, just another police line with the same sort of sets we always get.

This thread is going too far off-topic. The discussion about differences in pricing between countries is not something that applies exclusively to modular buildings. If you'd like to discuss pricing differences, I'm sure there's a thread in the General discussion forum of the Embassy forum.

Due to a bug in the forum software we couldn't set the portal as the default landing page for eurobricks.com, so we set it to the forum index instead. That bug has now been terminated and the portal is the default page again and that is probably what explains your issue: you bookmarked http://www.eurobricks.com/forum (which now goes to the portal again), but you should bookmark http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/ for the forum index.

@makoy, why can't you remove the tag? When I hit backspace, tags are removed as well.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Rick replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I definitely think the 2018 modular building won't have 4,000 pieces again, but another 48-wide set in a non-traditional configuration with some open space (a park, for example) could be feasible with 2,500 - 3,000 pieces. -
Our very own Games Moderator Dragonator has taken a break from playing games and had a go at reviewing this year's Winter Village set: 10254 Winter Holiday Train. He also evaluates how easy it is to motorise the steam engine with Power Functions. Check out the in-depth review in the Town forum.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Rick replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I wouldn't mind if they do another 48 wide modular. It gives a lot more possibilities for adding open spaces like little squares, parks and alleyways, which add a lot more variation to a modular street. It would also offer more possibilities to offer modulars connected by a story line (of which I'm surprised there isn't more in the current modular). Thinking a bit more about it, considering we had a corner modular this year, releasing two 48 wide "straight" modulars in 2017 and 2018 may well be their plan. Better start saving for a double corner with an inverted corner on of four 32 x 32 baseplates in 2019. -
Oops, totally forgot about that one.

As much as I appreciate your effort, this is not very different from posting the preliminary images here directly, which is not allowed. I have therefore removed the images and locked the thread. Thanks for your understanding.

A search takes up a lot of server resources (it's not a separate system that can handle an x number of searches, but affects general site performance). I have lowered the waiting time between searches somewhat. It goes from 45 seconds for new members (< 10 posts), via 20 seconds for Vassals, 15 seconds for Citizens and Knights, 10 seconds for Counts and Dukes to 5 seconds from Grand Dukes and Archdukes now.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but you can create custom activity feeds. Go to Activity > My Activity Streams > Create New Stream. When you set it up as follows, don't you get something comparable to what you were used to? Show me: Content only Clicking unread Items: Take me to the first unread comment Content type: Topics Read status: Everything Ownership: Everything Following: Everything Time period: Any time You can even make this feed your default feed (making it appear in the top-right corner of every page, where "Unread content" is by default) by ticking the checkmark next to the feed title when you click on the feed.

I still think the modulars are meant to be set in the mid twentieth century. We'd see totally different equipment (like cash registers) if they were meant to be set in the present day. I always figured the computer in the Town Hall was the only error they made. The Town Hall and Palace Cinema seem to be the only modulars that Jamie wasn't heavily involved in. I've been expecting a post office and a police station for ages (they'd offer good opportunities for play value too). Hospital may still be some years after we get a dentists now. Museum might be too boring as a subject. Shops and appartments offer years of material for modular buildings. I guess they run out of fresh ideas for architectural variety before they run out of subject matter. I really hope Jamie stays committed to the modular building line for years to come. There's the photographer loading up on sweets at the pastry shop and getting a hefty dentist bill later. But I agree, it's not as prominent as it used to be in the previous two modulars. I like these little stories as it adds to the play value, but not when it requires a lot of pieces going towards play features like in the Dective's Office and, especially, the Brick Bank. In that sense, they struck the perfect compromise in the Assembly Square, if you ask me.

Indeed, it's sturdier with the "crack" in the baseplate under the connected buildings than in between the cafe and the flower shop. I really expected them to make this one modular in a lot more ways than past modulars (by allowing various configurations of the buildings around the square and even being able to swap floors among buildings). I really like what they made of it though. The baseplate configuration is very refreshing and breaks up the modular street nicely. I really hope they incorporate more open space in future modulars. The buildings on the sides are lovely and even though they're smaller than the early modulars, they don't look cramped on the inside thanks to their depth. However, the upper floor of the florist looks both simple and reminds me a bit too much of the Green Grocer. And although I admire Jamie's innovative part uses, the buckets as a roof is a great find, but I would really have preferred a more elegant solution for the roof. I don't like the gaps towards the sides of the roof.

I actually hope they'll do another 48 wide modular to "fix" the 16 wide gap.. Not sticking to the standard modular dimensions, except for where they connect to other modulars, offers a lot more possibilities. It does not always need to be a lot more expensive than a 32 wide modular, because they could also utilise it as an open space, like a park, construction site, etc. Also, the new modular immediately reminded me elements / ideas seen in these MOCs. Inspired by... or great minds think alike...?

It is the original video, but apparently Flickr has a three minute limit for videos. I replaced the video with the one TLG's YouTube channel.
