Vote: Minoru (VolcanicPanic) I'd guess green. Unless you know something we don't?
-
Merging with 'Future Star Wars Sets'....

I think that's the main weakness with what Minoru has claimed. I wouldn't be too hasty, after what happened to Tadao. Surely it's best to investigate him, if we have as you say three investigators at our disposal.

Heroica RPG - Quest #23: Guarding the Guards
Rufus replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
Thank you for your help, Grandogsh. Rufindel approaches the figures in blue. 'Aaye, melloneä! Saësa omentien lle. Elen sila lumenn omentilmo!' I am Rufindel Galadhras, Cleric of Eresseä. What are you called? My comrades and I hope you would be gracious enough to help us with a problem. We are trying to discover what happened to a number of City guards that have disappeared in the Harbour District. Would you happen to have heard anything that may help us? 'Kwentra lye i'narn.' -
Happy Birthday Holodoc and Athos! Have a great day, guys!

Ichirou was town? What a selfish, selfish man. I had figured no true Yakuza would have thrown random accusations around like he did just to save his own skin. And, as a direct result, we have lost the town blocker. Not a good night. Hopefully we can learn something from this other blocker, so some good can come from this.

Heroica RPG - Quest #23: Guarding the Guards

Rufindel wonders which one is the ridiculous hat. I agree, Cronk. If you might get something from the Orc, I might get somewhere talking to the Elf. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #23: Guarding the Guards

Rufindel hands over his staff with a look of such Elven disapproval to make Elrond proud. I can see a guy in a rival guard uniform, some dark-clothed dude, a skellington and a ... lizard. Yes, Atramor, I think we're going to need to know who is in there. -
Right now, in the Cook Islands, it's 12.00 PM on 29th February, so I'd say you've got 12 hours. This thread will self-destruct in exactly 12 hours

Captain, if these men you have captured are to help us... would you perhaps be prepared to reduce their sentence? I think they might be more prepared to talk if we could offer them some incentive.... -

Heroica RPG - Quest #23: Guarding the Guards
Rufus replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
'Hello fellow heroes! Looks like you've all been busy ' 'Why, thank you, Atramor! Remind me to give it back to you at the end, if we don't have need to use it.' '... though I'm told it's reusable. ' Rufindel adds the Scroll of Sealing to his inventory: Gold: 25 Inventory: Fauxthril Staff (WP:7), 2 Potions, 2 Remedies, 2 Bones, Pickaxe, 3 Tonics, Bedroll, Scroll of Sealing (loaned from Atramor) Please note the changed inventory -
Rufindel enters the marketplace for the first time in what seems like an age. He approaches Anwyl's Smithy. 'Hello, Master Dwarf!' he said amiably, wary of the tension ever-present between their species, 'I should like to buy a Fauxthril Staff, if you please, and will sell you this Oaken Staff for a fair price.' He removes 50 Gold from his inventory for the Fauxthril Staff, and replaces 20 Gold for the Oaken Staff, leaving him with 195 Gold. 'Thank you sir! Now, would you kindly upgrade my new staff to a Power of 7, please? By my calculations, that should cost me 60+70 = 130 Gold, leaving me with 65. Good day!' He then strides over to see Portia. 'Good morning, madam! I should like two of your finest Tonics, please, and one Remedy. Let me see... I make that 40 Gold? That leaves me with ... a mere 25 Gold. Better go and make some money! Thank you! '

First there comes the case about the scum role cop. Now, automatically believing a stretch like that would make her seem kind of crazy at first, but when Yasu-chan came up as scum, it would give Momoe-chan a lot of credibility, and it did. Momoe-chan saw the way Yasu-chan was completely failing to defend herself, and she decided that it would be best to bus her. However, I have learned from experience that very often the ones who present the correct theory out of the blue are scum themselves setting the groundwork for a lot of credibility later. This is obviously what Momoe-chan is doing here. Scum roles cops are very rare. Why would Momoe-chan immediately arrive at the conclusion that there would be one? Well, I'd love to claim the credit for thinking that Yasu might be a scum role cop, but I'm afraid I got the idea from someone else:
-
Oh, no you're not: quite the opposite, and that's what make you so suspicious to me. Where was the paranoia when Yasu 'role-claimed' to you? You believed her without question. A townie would have been far more circumspect. Instead, by Yasu's own confession, you offered her advice, but said nothing about this to us until Yasu told us herself. 'Believing all role-claims' is hardly paranoid, is it? You agree with just about everything Norio says, because, by your own admission, you think he is pro-town (an odd choice of word) for 'meta-reasons', just about the worst reasons for suspecting or believing anyone. Then you contact lots of people, push them for information, and treat any information you receive as 'fact' - hence your submission about the blockers. Assuming for a moment you really had been in contact with someone claiming to be the town blocker, why believe them? They could just as easily be the scum blocker; unless you know who the scum blocker is. The only way you can be sure that people are who they say they are is if you know they're telling the truth, because you are scum.

Vote: Ichirou (Tamamono) I'd have been willing to do this yesterday, purely on the basis of the infamous 'wall' post, had it not been more important to lynch Yasu first. Indeed, when you view that post in the light of this earlier post, the whole thing looks highly staged: Would you believe it? Something did come up Everything Ichirou has said subsequently has only heightened my suspicion. He tries to convince us to watch Yasu at night, knowing full-well that that would in no way confirm Yasu, and excuses his sudden about-turn with regard to Yasu with the following incredibly weak statement that he 'I've always had a tendency to believe roleclaims.' Then there's the 'blocker' fiasco from today. Sloppy scum. That Ichirou has been fishing for information behind the scenes is not surprising; what is more worrying is that people seem to believe him. Ichirou is a danger to the town, and I'm really not confident about this: I'm sure he's already shared the names with his team-mates.

No. We are extremely grateful to TLG for allowing us an early look at the new set, but the idea of Architecture month is all EB. Wait and see

You're implying that several people have told you privately that Norio was blocked by the town blocker. Norio, who you think is town (sorry, pro-town) for 'meta-reasons'. So I take it that this blocker came forward to several people, said, 'I'm the town blocker! I blocked Norio!' and you all believed him/her. I find it unlikely that you could know for sure that Nobuo was targeted by the scum blocker - unless, of course, you've been talking to the scum blocker, and they confirmed to you that they did indeed target Nobuo, and are indeed scum. This response - how would you put it? - 'reeks of scum'.

Indeed, Lizzy was one of two people who stood out for voting against the bandwagon. Her decision to vote for Maniko in response to one or two posts the latter made was odd, and rather opportunistic. The other person to vote for someone other than Yasu was Manga, who chose to accuse Akio rather than following the bandwagon: Neither of these accusations were based on anything other than vague suspicion. They would seem to be scum moves except: (a) there was no realistic chance of overturning the bandwagon; and (b) they would know that their votes would stick out like sore thumbs - especially if they were scum, and knew that Yasu was a mutineer. Of the two, I would expect Manga to know better than to do this (unless it is an elaborate double-bluff, but I can't see what the gain is ). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In a similar vein, a few people prevaricated early during the vote - saying they'd come back later to decide. Given we by then knew we'd have unlimited unvotes, there was no harm in casting a vote early. Only scum would gain by delaying the formation of a solid bandwagon against one of their own. I found two examples: Setsuku, who used a similar 'vote for someone else' tactic, but eventually voted for Yasu; and Aiko (not to be confused with Akio ). None of this is particularly solid. Of all of these, I'd agree that Lizzy is probably the most suspicious.
