The island has always been there I think, at least on the maps of our neighbors to the northwest... Let's just say that it is newly within the Kaliphlin sphere of influence

I meant the new detail of the island... I don't remember there ever being a detailed map of that island. :sweet:

I wonder what your tight wearing neighbors to the North think about this. But then again, what's happening in Avalonia these days anyway?

While the Avalonians are focusing on celebrity tights-wearing competitions and reality tree-hugging, Kaliphlin soldiers are "vacationing" in al'Esterbroke, and just providing a helping hand for their local brethren. That's all.

There is also a religious quest underway. To that, Quest for the Egg Part Two is 90% done. I have to build a fire, place the figs and animals, and do some set dressing. Hopefully I can also achieve the shot I want.

Aha al'Estebroke, that's where my 1001 Tigers are having some military excercices :sweet: Especially the discipline "Kick a hippy" is very easily to train there (stupid Avalonian tourists...)

All this trash talking is getting me back in the MOCing spirit! I've also finished Part iii of my siggies quest! All I need is a sunny day in South Western Kansas. Yeah, you might not see it for a while.

@everyone:

as you can see in my signature, Mpya Stedor is the decor of a romantic wedding :classic:

Way cool Maxim! I'm a bit too busy to do a little investigation myself, but I'm curious as to what the video is for? Openday?

Thanks Mike :)

Since I've not been around in a long time and usually build along side my brother, as opposed to individual separate builds. I've decided to declare for Kaliphlin for Book 2. Very hopefully more to come.

My sig fig for Kaliphlin has already been seen in the battle of the witherwoods.

Finally, Scarst is officially in. Welcome to the team. Can you refresh our memories on your character's particulars?

On another note, I just finished the inner facade of the main wall of the Nestlands Embassy in Nocturnus. I finished the outer facade yesterday. I still have the bedrock, swampy outer area, and a section of the keep to finish. This will be a 64x64 build when done. Lord Vladivus should be making a stopover when the final renovations are completed. Ambassador Bloodmane has some intelligence to report, and some tomes for the Shadowmere library.

I should have Quest for the Egg Part II done and photographed tomorrow. Sdair will be spreading word of his quest to some merchants along the way. I am hoping to get some interesting shots of this one.

Hello guys,

Kai NRG gave the advise, that - if I would not get any responses regarding my UoP claims, I should post a reminder here.

So, I am referring to

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88352&st=200#entry2081997

and am looking forward to your feedback.

Thanks!

To avoid bumping the threads unnecessarily I will post the feedback here instead:

Fortress in the Snow

I would like to claim UoP credits for:

Architecture

wall techniques

Landscape Design

snow and ice

studs up rocks and cliffs

Anthropology

Life in Mitgardia

UoP +1 for these claims.

Addition Dec. 29th:

Dwarven Attack Boats in Tradewind Bay

I would like to claim UoP credits for:

Hydrology

waves

Anthropology

Life in Mitgardia

These claims are not in the thread, and "Life in Mitgardia" was already in the other MOC (more appropriately so). Regardless, UoP +1 for Hydrology: waves.

Dunehill Castle

I would like to claim UoP credits for:

Architecture

wall techniques

advanced windows and window frames

Landscape Design

sand dunes

Anthropology

life in Avalonia

UoP +1 for "Advanced Windows and Window Frames" (especially for the stained glass ones, but also for the arrow slits), as well as "life in Kaliphlin" (as claimed in the thread, not "life in Avalonia" as here). The ground looks more like sandstone/yellowish limestone than sand dunes to me however.

Generally, I think it is good to post the claims when first posting the MOC. I don't think many of us go back to looking at threads we already commented on to see if there are claims appearing there.

While we're bumping UoP builds, I could still use a few votes for (or against, depending on your opinion!) my A True Bloodbath build. Thank you in advance for your consideration! :classic:

Fortress in the Snow:

Architecture: wall techniques

Landscape Design: snow and ice, studs up rocks and cliffs

Anthropology: Life in Mitgardia

UoP +1 on all claims

Dwarven Attack Boats in Tradewind Bay

Hydrology: waves

Anthropology: Life in Mitgardia

Gideon says you've already done a Life in Mitgardia, so no credit for that one. You really need to set up a post in the Registrar's Thread to keep track of your claims (If you already have and I missed it, my apologies). As for the waves credit, I need to see a bit more than just mixed trans round plates. There are some great examples in the Registrar's Thread of how to use the colors effectively to achieve the impression of waves, in particular here, here, and here. There are other approaches, including this fun one.

Dunehill Castle

Architecture: wall techniques, advanced windows and window frames

Landscape Design: sand dunes

Anthropology: life in Kaliphlin

UoP +1 for Advanced Windows and Life in Kaliphlin. I agree with Gideon that this build looks more rocky than dune-y -- you can see some great dune examples here, here, and here. In regard to the Advanced Wall Techniques, what specific technique are you claiming?
