Well, I got this set for Xmas when I was a kid. I just spent countless hours playing with it. First it has ELS system, and second, a modulary design ! The robot did the trick for me, even if liek you mentioned it looks definitly old today. Excellent review !

Only the sound disappread, you can still find the lights into the train sets. Which makes them expensive ! A while back, I started a stargate project, and the stargate was illuminating like the real things. I think this the magic of the ELS line : it's only a light, but it instantaneously gives this little something special to your MOC. I regret the lack of ELS pack like in the old days : when we had those flyers with some service packs on them. Those were the days !

Well actually it will most likely be :-D But well, there were some good stuff with alpha team.

And look at the highest bidder... Poor you castle lovers, you'll never get any big set anymore.

It's simple, TLC can't release figures packs. BUT, if the figs come with a vehicule, then there's no problem !

Are you seriously hoping for this ? After seing the entry for the moonbase contest of a Lego designer who is working on a new 2007 line (that should be the aqua raiders), I definitly don't think it'll be Jules Verne style. Trans red, yes, Jules Verne, no X-D

"The fleur de Lis". I try to picture english people saying that, and it's hilarious :-P At least as funny as a french speaking english X-D It just has this "je ne sais quoi". Anyway, as Willy spotted it, I guess it's just blue and red because it looked nice. As a kid I didn't even considered them as separate armies. To me, pirates were the baddies, and the blue and red guys were the good ones. But remember that we never had any lego background story here. And still, kids were able to play with the sets ! Amazing :-| !

Well Star Wars fans were sure heard somewhere at TLC HQ ! Finally some cool MF packs. It'll sure make army builders happy X-D Now it's hard to judge on a simple name !

mmhh, considering the financial difficulties of TLC, I'm not sure that the value will increase. It will likely depend on how many new hobbists there will be in the future. Not to mention the unpredictible future. Anyway, I don't smoke, and I still don't think it's a good thing to spend hundreds one single Lego a lego set (beside the ISD). Anyway, that's my advice

I dunno anything about glowing bricks. But I guess that if it glows better, then there is a real purpose in changing !
