  1. What if not? It most likely is ! Maybe there are more than 10, but not that much I think. Still I don't think a toy should be MISB. Toys are ment to be played with, not to be sitting somewhere.
  2. The two softwares are still sold under different names if this is what you wanted to know (at least on the french market). Khorne : can I try something with your fig ?
  3. One funny thing is that once upon a time, minifigs used to drive cars that size. Today it's considered a tiny or mini scale ! :-D Anyway, nice set, but no minifig, not for me X-O
  4. The most expensive of the list lol. But that's temporary, I'm moving to paintshop pro really soon.
  5. Happy Bday spaceman !
  6. Well it's hilarious, it's off topic, it's Eurobricks. Just let it here. And thanks for the link, it's awesome !
  7. People. We have a double check IP/cookie thing. Now it might be 1300, I dunno, it depends on how many people block cookies and change their IPs. Yes that's a lot. I think we were at 150 few months after we launched EB.
  8. I like the idea of the lurkers being creepy lol. We actually do have a lot of lurkers here, we have approx 1500 different visitors a day (frontpage and forum) and only a few are posting.
  9. "TEKNIK" in Europe.
  10. Lol thanks ! Now are you more confident in my abbility to take nice pics for you lol ? 8-| And you're the graphist because you're the best at making skins ! I couldn't achieve such nice results ! BTW, never knew there has been some lego pirate video games ! Were they good ?
  11. Lol I do some lego drawings sometimes (cf the yellow minifig head that indicates new posts). But in the case of the avatar, this drawn look is given by the color saturation. ;-)
  12. Is your nickname related to this particular fig ? Or to a metal band ? Or both ? Or none ? So many questions that need an answer...
  13. Well I also noticed yours, it matches your title right ? I also like this lense flare. Looks really nice on the sword !
  14. It doesn't have anything to do with the regulator position. That's a more "traditional" job. He just did what he has to do in order to get the position (did I mention my paypal account adress ? :-P )
  15. The admin council grant to Evil Willy the rank of moderator for the Pirate forum. We wish him luck ! *y*
  16. 1) I have a sony digital camera, is this okay? The brand doesn't matter. Still you usually can't get a bad pic with a sony digicam :-D 2) I'm not sure if corel draw 9 is a photo editing program, if it is can I use this? It is indeed a photo editing programm 3) and, the first image of your avatar without background is a bit blurry, how come the others aren't? I compressed it in jpg with a low quality, this is why. All the images I work with are in an orginal photo editing format so they are too big to be posted directly.
  17. Now that's what I'm talking about ! It reminds me a khorne blood god from warhammer ! Sweeet. But I think there's some place for improvement with the head of the model !
  18. I had a talk with Mister Phes about my new pirate avatar and he suggested I make a tutorial on how I did this. So here it is. First, what you need : - The Lego model you wish to have as an avatar : the model has to be clean. I recommend you wash it with some washing machine powder (not the one Skaforhire found in his ebay auction X-D ). - A good Digicam (I strongly recommend a Bridge or Reflex one). The quality of the camera will have a real impact on the quality of the picture. - A computer with a photo editing software (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, Ulead Photoimpact, ...). Now on the process : First, put you Lego model or minifig on a table, then add a white or green background. I don't recommend using a blue one as Lego pieces contain a lot of blue. For my avatar, the scene looked like this : In this example, I put some of my imperial minifigs and my sigfig as the king of the army. I added french baguettes for good measure, and also two nice girls. Note the use of only 3 colors : Blue White Red. This is why the two girls have ginger hair. I'd suggest not to go for too many colors. Then, take your digicam, use the manual set up : close up, action shot, no flash. Note that having a natural ligth is really important. Take as many shots as possible so you can choose the best. You'll get something like this : Now go into your image editing software : - First, edit the colors : add luminosity if necessary, set up the contrast and saturate the colors a little bit. - Then, start to cut out the background. Two choices : use an erazer tool or the lasso. I usually use both : magnetic lasso first and then I manually eraze the remaining little scratches. You should get something like this : Then, you just have to choose a background. I created mine, but you can also find nice ones on google/images. Copy/paste your image on the background and you'll get this : Then blur the back of the image (the back of a picture would be blurred if you do this kind of close up in the real life). Use the sponge tool on the edges of your minifigs, copy the part of the image you like, create a new file and paste and here you go : Here you have a new avatar ! Comments and questions are welcome :-)
  19. Well if so I'd be dead curious to see a "real" brick without lego on it !
  20. Well it was the same as a child, you are just stronger now ! (thanks god ! :-P ). I broke dozens of lego pieces as a child, and as an adult, maybe one two maximum so I think it's not really quality related ! And I'm pretty sure Lego have a lot a of quality controls regardins this aspect of the product since it's directly related to the safe toy thing !
  21. Save and get both from ebay France. That's my advice !
  22. At least I still own one Luke you don't have (but well, that's a Luke so...). I think you are beating me to the new sets but I'm still the master of the old ones ! X-D
  23. Just for the record some lego part don't have the lego marking and that's normal. If I remember correctly, that's the case of this new motorbike big white piece in the Police sets. I think the problems with plastics being transparrents and colors not the same are coming from TLC suppliers. They might have been conducting sourcing researches in new countries (who said China ?) and therefore this might explain all those differences. It's all about chemical processes and a small difference in a sample can become a major issue when put at an industrial scale.
  24. Ah yes, there's that too ! But this year you're beating me, really. I should get my revenge next year though lol :-P
