  1. No it's not I suggest you reread the prize topic and have a closer look at the pics there.
  2. No it hasn't gone unnoticed. And no, you're supposed to build a vehicle, not a background The background should be 'neutral', hence the request of a 'studio' - a clear single colour background would do just fine. Nope. I merely said that this is a good excuse to get a new camera. Already done MOCs are not allowed to enter. Everything has to be 'brand new'. I'll start out by trusting you. If in doubt, I might request a part list from you, but hopefully that wont be needed.
  3. You've got a good reason to improve your camera situation. Have a look in 'Watto's Junkyard'
  4. Since the staff can't participate in the other contest, I've made one just for staff members. The Rules: Build something Star Wars related Fabuland, Belville and Scala entries are allowed No piece limit No minifig limit Entries must be posted within 'Watto's Junkyard' no later than the 2nd of April 21:00 CET Questions? No? - Good then start building This is the staff prize:
  5. And added. Is it clear? Remember there's one EB Stormie up for each category
  6. No they don't I'll add that to the first post this instant. Thanks for asking
  7. No hassles... The sooner the flukes and bugs are combed away, the sooner the questions stop and the building starts
  8. Want to win this? Then go here to find out more.
  9. Good question. I need to edit the rules a bit. What I mean is that you can either chose to make a vehicle from the Star Wars Universe (though not already done by TLG) or you could make one up using your own imagination. Clear? Check the topic on prizes in this sub-forum
  10. The Star Wars Vehicle Contest The first of many to come contests within the Star Wars forum is upon us. Build a land-based vehicle that TLG has never produced. It can be from anywhere in the Star Wars Universe or your own imagination, but be sure it looks like it belongs in Star Wars There's 3 different categories, depending on the size of the MOC. A: Small size vehicles Design a vehicle with a 200 piece limit. You must include a background story relating it to the Star Wars universe. Max minifig count is 5. B: Medium size vehicles Design a vehicle with a 201 to 400 piece limit. You must include a background story relating it to the Star Wars universe. Max minifig count is 10. C: Large size vehicles Design a vehicle with at least 401 pieces. You must include a background story relating it to the Star Wars universe. Max minifig count is 25. Update: Land-based includes Walkers, Animals (like Rancor and Banthas), Ships, Hovercrafts like the landspeeder and of course wheel or belt driven vehicles like tanks and trucks. Update: This contest has NO scale - build your MOC as you like, be that mid-scale, micro-scale, minifig-scale, UCS or any-scale General rules: Entries have to be Star Wars related. No copying or modding existing models. Entries have to be new - no entry for old MOCs. Entries must have a background story. 5 pics in entry (front, top, rear, left-side and right-side ) Entries should have a link to picture folder (non-resized pics, close-ups and stuff like that for the rest of us to enjoy) Max picture size for deeplinked pictures is 600x800 pixels No webcam or phonepictures - The pictures must be undisturbed - make a studio, anything but a table with a cat in the background Only one entry per category per member. Feel free to participate in all 3 categories Brick-built minifigs like for example buzz-droids count as 1 minifig. Minifigs and brick-built minifigs don't count as pieces. Staff cannot enter this contest. Digital entries are not allowed No clone brands only LEGO is allowed. - with the exception of custom made minifigs, helmets and weaponry. When the build time is up, no more entries will be allowed and a vote topic for each category will be made. Post your entries in the 'Watto's Junkyard' sub-forum, giving each each entry it's own topic. The subtitle of the topic must state wether this is a small, medium or large entry. Time to build: Close to a month, the contest will end on: Thursday the 2nd of April 2009 21:00 CET Make sure your background story fits the MOC and make sure the MOC fits the background story. No need to include stormtroopers if it's a Rebel walker. All entries posted until the end date of the contest are considered Works In Progress. All entries not living up to the rules on the end date are disqualified All entries will be indexed - this does not mean they are qualified or 'good' enough All entries will be commented 1 week before the end date by me, giving guidelines on how to qualify for the vote Ask any questions you might have about the rules here and I'll reply as fast as possible. 11. Seems like this needed to be refreshed as some members apparently haven't read the first post of this topic
  12. This is the prize you can win in the contests hosted here on Eurobricks. Thanks goes out to: LuxorV - for designing the print and pauldron Rayman - for making the pauldrons Hinckley - for decal printing, tutorial and decal toolbox CopMike - for donating loads of parts The rest of the staff for inputs, thoughts and ideas towards the making of this. Without you guys, this would never have happened And now on to what you guys (the members) really care about: Only 50 of these will ever be made. (8 of them never made it through production ) The Eurobricks Stormtrooper: This is a prize and you agree not to sell it, should you be lucky enough to win it The Eurobricks Clone Wars Obi Wan Kenobi Keychain: Only one ever made. This is a prize and you agree not to sell it, should you be lucky enough to win it Previous Prizes:
  13. Yes, and it wont be long now. Stay tuned - this thing is about to blow!
  14. Thank you. I was looking for that one when I moved this topic. I'll close this and if more answers are requested, then post in the linked topic. CLOSED
  15. Go look in the Ambassador Forum... It's a few inches above this forum. Great place to ask such a question
  16. Not interesting - hard work. The requirements are quite hard, but since you're all AFOLs, I doubt they'll be much of problem. Let me say this though; If you haven't got a good camera, then find/borrow/buy one. No blurry/webcam/phonepics will be allowed, nor will any pics not taken in a 'studio'. (A studio could be large grey baseplates or pieces of cardboard) - in short, keep the pics clean and razorsharp.
  17. Thanks Hinckley. This elaborate and easy-to-follow tutorial has revealed the world of decals to me. The fumes are also qwuie god phaps i Should oben a widow.
  18. Although this is a good question, is doesn't really belong here. Imagine the flood of 'What should I buy?' topics if all members asked that question each time they wanted to buy something new. This belongs in the Buy/Sell/Trade/Find Forum and I'll move it there for you. Next time post such questions there.
  19. You're new around here, aren't you? Perhaps reading the Star Wars Forum Index might be helpfull. Also we've known that fact for at least 10 years. Remember that LEGO is all about playability and it's intended for kids. And I highly doubt the designer is 4 years old. And good luck in getting the actual model - I am fairly sure that this model doesn't exist in 'real life'.
  20. Sure go ahead.
  21. What did you use as a camera? A piece of wood and a piece of a broken mirror? Sorry, but I can't make out the small vignette you've made from those poor pics. What I can see is some tan (?) minifigs and a grey baseplate. You really need to work on your photography and studio setup.
  22. Who's bragging now?
  23. So good EB members, the time has come to fire up those MOC-engines of yours and prepare your designer skills. The "Days of Contests" will be here faster than you can accelerate to light speed. I am close to having some great prizes for you and within 48 hours, I'll present the first of many Star Wars contests to come in the future. This will be the question and discussion topic for them. I'll make an additional topic for posting your entries. "Stay on target!" (Aren't you just dying to find out? )
  24. Yeah... But my 2 year old daughter wont let me get much of that these days
  25. Wow, that's one cheap promotional. Why do they make these semi-crappy things for cereals and McDonalds? C'mon TLG, give us the real deal instead. And right you are. That's the area code for Billund in Denmark, where the factory is.
