The mill is indeed not what I was expecting, but chickens, goats and peasants are nice. I like the buckets in the sets as well. Anyone else have some bucket love?

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
ZCerberus replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
No pictures yet. I heard speculation that we would see pics about when we saw the first trailers for PotC: 4. I think this should suggest to us that while we can continue dreaming and discussing, we should temper our expectations and not accept anyone's speculations as fact. Seeing the trailer gets me excited for some sort of carriage set. I also have a strong feeling we are going to get a large hat much like the one from the musketeer in series 4 and powdered wigs! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
ZCerberus replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
POST 1,111!!!!! I noticed something odd today... I decided $2.99 was my buy at price... over $2.99 and I pass. Well because of all the coupons and BOGO sales at TRU I managed to get a full set plus a few extras all at or under $2.99. The first ones I got seemed to match the dimple codes pretty well, though I had to do some "feel" to be pretty sure. After I got about 7 or 8 of the figs they vanished and I could not find them until a few days ago. The 25% off a purchase of over $50 on TRU with coupon last week put the price back at my 2.99 price point so I ventured out and picked up the rest of the series I was missing. I had a few figs that didn't seem to match the dots very well, especially a rouge pilot that I thought might have been an alien by the dots. I then noticed something on the package had changed... The first 8 or 9 figures I found had the number "537B0" stamped on the right half of the bottom of the package, but all the new ones I found have "238B0". The dots still seemed to mostly be in the same place, except for the pilot which wasn't even close. What are the numbers stamped on the bottom of your packages? I bought my figs in a few different TRU's, but they all have either of those two numbers. Anyone have anything to report? Do we know what the numbers mean? Is this a known thing? Happy hunting! -
reddest Bluecoat ship EVER

Boo!!! Hiss!!! Terrible news! Boo!!! Wait.... what?? Oh you said "Blackmoor"... I thought you said "Blaakmohr"... Well then that is AWESOME!

Good looking ship Taz! I love that you are tiling the deck. The shape looks good and you are making good progress on the sails. I would make a few changes to the ship to make it even more authentic... 1) I would move the shrouds/ratline/channels back a few studs. What I mean is that the rigging that connects the masts platforms to the main deck of the ship general start "behind" or more towards the stern of the ship as opposed to right in the middle as you have done here. 2) I would continue the white that is featured on the bow of the ship along the middle to tie the bow and stern of the ship together a little more, or at least try it out to see how it looks. 3) I might also be tempted to move the catheads forward a little bit if possible as well. This is a great looking first ship though!

Nice army! Take note pirates, do not engage dirk in a ground war, he is well equipped to defeat all challengers! I think the Gov's house could use a touch of color to add some much needed detail. I see some nice shapes on the building, but all the white makes it look like a giant white block!

Curses! Man down!! I have a feeling a pirate-y plot may be afoot! I love the banana in the glass, classic!

Agreed. And easy to fix. Yes, I would like to tile it. The stairs are made of wedge plates right now, and the studs on the lower stairs keep the wedge plate on the level above it from over rotating... I could change it I suppose, but I am not sure if I will yet. It is something I will keep in mind though. The key for me was after realizing the gun ports looked best at 3 x 4 to then make the spacing between the ports also an odd number of studs so a gun port and the distance to the next was an even number of studs total. This allowed me to space the gun ports and use rails to fill in holes in the shape created by using hinges. On the old Phantom the ports were 3 x 4 on the gun deck but the spacing between the guns was 4 studs, this meant I had to use 2 x 4 gun ports on the main deck. I couldn't easily build a second gun deck with the right look until I realized the odd spacing between gun ports would solve all my ills!

As promised... Overview of where the ship stands in dry dock... there are some rigging strings attached here, mostly to see how they look. I am thinking my masts might need to be a little bit taller and I should go 4 or 6 tiles length taller. I have moved on to stern construction... it is still early and I am not entirely sure how I am going to do the cabin, but you can see I have added the mizzen mast and the stern gun deck is finished. No rudder or detailing on the back yet. And here is Phred, come to visit me. Phred actually supplied the cup and sword so his sig fig could be complete. After his departure, I cleaned all the dust off the spiral staircase. I just had to bring that over from the old Phantom. You can see there is a whole lot of "nothing" on the other side of the ship. I have the pieces to copy it over, but there is no point in doing it at this point... You can also see I haven't added the decking behind the main mast.

Thanks pirate people. I actually took a few more photos of some of the progress the day after Phred visited the ship. They didn't turn out great, but they do show that I have moved onto the stern of the ship. I will post some pictures soon!

Awesome news! Go Boney... AGAIN!

A very solid start. Good color and I like the tan decks. It has the right flush deck look. Things that could use some work: 1) head rails are not quite there. I think the headrails on the Constitution are white/black and not gold. The ones you have now don't seem long enough to me. 2) The shape is a little too "boxy". At a minimum, it needs to curve inward as it goes up to look more accurate. 3) The railing on the top deck is way too low. The flush deck frigates like this had guns mounted the whole length of the top deck, so they are going to need some serious protection!

ZCerberus will attend if there is space at the table, he LOVES banana cream pie. Torso is the classic redcoat governor/admiral torso, though any redcoat torso will do. Head is from the old samurai guy in the ninja line. Black gloves, gold eps, and a bicone hat with white plume, though the red clown afro from series 1 is a fun alternate hair piece! Though Z always has a black musket strapped to his back, he might be able to leave it at the door for this one. In honor of Fugazi's great victory in the ToR II, Z would bring frog legs from Fugazi farm, and maybe some Coruscantian ale acquired after his scuffle with green/bluehair in the Mos Eisley cantina. He may also consider bringing flowers for the lady of the house, even if she is a mostly-neutral bluecoat lover.

Non-Pirate Mini-Figures Useful for Pirate MOCing?
ZCerberus replied to Athos's topic in LEGO Pirates
The Rapier too my thinks... not quite a cutlass, but certainly fancier looking! -
It was nice to meet you Phred. Thanks for the info on that piece... if the wrenches don't work I will look at those. I took some pictures Saturday morning I will post soon.

Photobucket... you really ARE from another era! For anyone to lazy to click the links.
-
That works! Here at the actual pics for those of you who are too lazy to click the link. What I did that you might not have done was this... I clicked on each picture you took. I right clicked on the picture to pick a size to display. I picked the smallest one. I then right clicked the picture again and clicked on "copy link location". Then I used the info I supplied you before to post the picture into the posts. If you're interested, here is what the information looks like in the post. Remove the * and that is what the code looks like. [img*]http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4132/5177627556_3cbc322eb4.jpg[/img] Looks like a take on the USS Constitution. That is a great ship on which to base a model. It is flush decked so you don't have to worry as much about elevation changes, and it is just a pure classic! As far as things that might be improved, it looks a little too square at this stage for my liking. I also do not see a way to get to the lower deck from the upper deck...

I think we should consider pirates an apparition. I think the Disney license (and PotC) killed the pirates line more than sales ever did, even if Lego won't admit it.

Welcome to the forums Bert! For posting pictures, there are two major methods. I am guessing you tried to upload the pictures onto the Eurobricks servers and they were too large. The other method is to post the images somewhere else on the internet and then link the pictures to your posts here on Eurobricks. The two most frequently used places to post your pictures among the Eurobricks community are Flickr and Brickshelf. To use the second method and link your pictures into posts, first create a Flickr or Brickshelf account. I have a Brickshelf account. It is free to sign up for one by clicking this link here After you have done so, you can upload your pictures into a brickshelf folder. Once they are uploaded there, you can post links to your pictures or an entire brickshlef folder by copying the URL of the brickshelf webpage and click the link button when posting a message. The link button looks like this . If you copy the URL of an image only (in other words, just the picture and not the whole webpage) you can post the image by clicking this button when posting a message here on Eurobricks. There is some other useful information on formatting links right here

There is a rigid hose that runs through the pearl gold cones, and the cones are not attached to each other along most of the headrail. It is still somewhat hard to curve them though, at least with the way I have attached the head rails to each other right now. I am thinking of ways to get more curve, but I might have to come back to that after I begin work on the stern. I also want to change the sides/railing on the bow section. I am somewhat sort on rown tiles (not a big surprise considering how many I am using) so I am working around that limitation while working on the decking. I am out of town next week, so there will be no progress for a little while, but I hope to get moving again soon!

Traveling to MN soon? it is large, but we there are several on this forum of similar size. Check out Blacky's Le Fourageux for example! I do love this color scheme though. We should thank the French for using it... more or less. Thanks French!

Ah the realities of working with bricks of a fixed shape and color! What I really meant wasn't that they weren't thick enough, I was wondering if they were LONG enough. You will have a better grip on that then the rest of us, but I thought they maybe looked a little smallish. As for the thickness however, if you wanted them a little thicker, I wonder if a bunch of these with tiles on all four sides would make them the right thickness for you.
