*VOTE* Tournament of Retribution II *VOTE*
ZCerberus replied to Commodore Hornbricker's topic in Pirate MOCs
1 point to Fugazi's Redcoat Voodoo Doll (nice doll... wacky ending...) 2 points for mcfarlandman's A day at the guillotine (Megabloks... off with his head!) 2 points for Capt. Thomas Foolery's Ballad of the Nine Sacred Trials (wordy? yes, but it rhymes!) -
I was wondering why I had so many profile hits... Guess I was sent to the principal's office... sorry... my sig must have been within the rules at one time... though I honestly haven't thought about it much. though I understand being within the rules and being responsible are two different things... I take it this is a much more responsible signature.

A Redcoat... well he is not, he is a notorious gangster of the Hutt... err... Spaniard Clan... that gentlemen in the Rum picture is his cousin, Mister Fizz. P.S. Sorry I shot you in the face and got all that blood in your hair We are not afraid of the hair the great creators have given us. Plus, Blue Hair's wife digs it.

I think you were just glad to see someone playing with dolls... it is the only thing more emasculating than playing with a short knife

Tournament of Retribution II Entry: Round 2
ZCerberus replied to Capt. Thomas Foolery's topic in Pirate MOCs
Yeah, people do, at times, lose interest in reading... but you had excellent visuals as well, and that could draw them into the text. I think you have a top six entry here! -
I was hoping the last line wasn't too "inside" Star Wars. I still am not sure why the tag under my name says Blue Hiar is the best... the only thing seems to be the best at is getting shot in the face. Thanks for reading! That sounds like a lot of work... Though I could imagine having an entire army of "crimson troopers". And if Phes is Jabba, who is the Emperor going to be? Blackmoor? He seems more like a Darth Vader to me.

Tournament of Retribution II Entry: Round two.
ZCerberus replied to General Redwater's topic in Pirate MOCs
I invented a shotgun! A few very good chuckles in there... I always knew Blue Hair was a perve. Good entry and another great Red Coat victory!! -
Man... I look so tacky in blue! At least there is no proof I died... and my head isn't in a jar... and I am NOT actually a Blue Coat.

Tournament of Retribution II Entry: Round 2
ZCerberus replied to the Inventor's topic in Pirate MOCs
I hope that is Rum in my pink mug. Just one question... I was the last to die in the fight... right? -
I suppose "relations" with a camel is better than hooking up with a Bluecoat lady... not that I know... I am just saying... Nice ending- I give it two camels and one banana!
-
I like both of your entries. I think I laughed more at the round two one though, so way to step up your game. GO REDS!
-
Good work my Wookie/Crab friend. They blues have such wacky weapons- it only be right that we harness their weirdness against them!

Tournament of Retribution II Entry: Round 2
ZCerberus replied to Capt. Thomas Foolery's topic in Pirate MOCs
I was totally going to use something similar to your apple shooting scene in my comic- great redcoat minds must think alike! True there are a lot of words, but at least it rhymes! -
I knew you Blue Coats played with dolls!! Nice entry.

Well it worked so well the last time... let's try a different little piece of mythology out... For those a bit perplexed by the last frame...

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
ZCerberus replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think most or many of us felt we would see PotC Lego closer to the release of PotC 4. The run of the last Pirates line seemed unreasonably short- I mean even BAD themes seem to get at least ONE update and the pirates didn't get any. Seemed like they left some of the price points vacant and had plenty of opportunity to expand the line. As for the fig- I think it looks pretty good considering it is clearly preproduction. He might be on the camel because of a scene in the upcoming movie- but that is all speculation. I would be excited to see how Blackbeard looks and what kind of new ships we will be getting out of the deal. East India Trading Company soldiers ON! Excellent point! The main reason I purchase sets from any other line is to acquire pieces and colors to use in Pirate MOCs. Harry brought some cool elements, (spiral stairs, books, beards, winged horses) colors (sand green anyone?) and minifig accessories (like new hair pieces) that were especially useful to castle MOCers. I would hope for similar useful accessories for Pirates from PotC. A new compass? Rum jugs? New weapons? Who knows what we will get- but I am sure there will be a least a few new pieces to entice even casual fans to buy a few sets. -

Oops... I forgot the "II" in the subject line... admin please fix! While our hero, ZCerberus, sits in his tower at Fort Brighton East Redcoat minion: Sir! We have terrible news! The cowardly blue coats have kidnapped the most beautiful lady in all the land, the face that could launch a thousand ships... Lady Helen of Toy! ZCerberus: We must rescue her! Redcoat Minion: ... but how? The bluecoats are not smart, cunning, or good looking, but they have a fortress with an absurdly large door! ZCerberus: I know just the thing! Much, much later, at the fortress with an absurdly large door: Bluecoat Minion: Wow, look at that giant tribute to Helen of Toy, we must bring it inside our fortress with an absurdly large door! Redcoat Minion: This is just like what the Greeks done at Troy, except they were in a horse, instead of a woman's breasts... At sunset, the redcoats sneak out the back hatch to capture the bluecoats inside the fortress with the absurdly large door: The redcoat raiders have no problem rounding up the hapless bluecoat minions. ZCerberus: Now you bluecoat cowards, we will return to Fort Brighton so you may face your punishment! ZCerberus: Boys.... GO BANANAS!! Helen of Toy: My hero! Okay, so not my best effort, but I was convinced the deadline was the 15th! Oh well! Thanks for looking!

There are some cool techniques going on here! I like the rock structure, the tile water and the wooden roof. A few suggestions if I may- for the rocks- I would maybe try to blend some dark bluish gray into the light bluish gray on the rocks for a cool effect. I would also be tempted to add another color into the white fortress to break it up a bit. I am guilty of using too much white myself from time to time. I find that both tan and light bluish grey work really well to break-up the "whiteness" and still keep the build looking cohesive.

Good job m'boy! Though I would tell ratshot you don't need a cannon battle since you can make all the cannons you want from the foundry!
