Two fold problem with that-- 1. the leg pegs are bigger than the neck stud so you would have to do press down hard and hope nothing breaks or do some cutting in there and 2. the other side of the leg would need something to balance out the bulk on the sword holder in the waist area... like the "butchered cape" off the other hip to balance it out. I used the cape and a "neck bracket" on a figure in the past much like you are thinking here... a shot of the evil captain minifig! Something like this then only using the sword holder and a cutlass instead of a pistol

What other pieces? the camels and the dagger can be seen in the Lego Licensed Forum

Okay- well as the new Prince of Persia sets are released we will obviously be integrating some of the parts into out piratey world. New weapons, hair pieces, jumper tiles, half arches and more will be added to the Lego® parts library for all of us to use. The part I am perhaps most interested in is the wonderful double sword holder on the back of Dastan... do you think it will work with two cutlasses? Answer... yes! I like it better with one sword and one knife though What PoP parts are you most looking forward to adding to your pirates? (if this would be better in the MOC section feel free to movie Piratey masters!)

Something a little different... the top level of Fort Brighton is now going to house at least one and maybe two mortars. Here is a look at a mortar that would have been used back in the pirate era. I figure it would have taken at least 5 guys to work one of these things... one to spot, and four to load, stuff, position and fire the thing. A few shots of just the mortar. I also found out they would pound a wedge underneath the mortar to add elevation. You can see the strong, man with the big hammer hitting the wedge in to raise the mortar's firing angle. And one last "old time" shot of them working the mortar. I know photography wasn't yet invented- but I took these at night when the flash ruins the pictures- they actually look better in the "sepia" type style. Anyhow, the fortress is now eight studs wider... I am thinking i might be a bit too short now but I will get some photos of that soonish.

Nice work. Great coffin and I like the morticians tools like his saw. Though I wonder- what is he using for nails!? I have seen people use the black inner portion of the little antennas as nails.

Very fun. I do not know anything about the historical accuracy of the pump but I don;t really care if it is or is not- it is fun anyway! Hey check it out-- I'm a count... but still not a fellow

#13 Barrister's Office Front Back Top 2nd Floor 1st Floor Integration (slightly older versions, but to get an idea of how it would fit in a port)

I only had those there for the very early photos for a bit of fun... Did you see the more recent pics? The fortress looked more like this about two weeks ago I am updating it now to be about 8 studs wider (it was too narrow as you can see in the pics)-- it is coming along- so new pics soonish...

Fences my man, fences... Then I put in round translucent stud plates on the backside. You can fit 8 studs on the back of a tall fence with another three studs int he "middle gaps" on top of the first layer of studs. Square 1x1 translucent plates will also work but there is less you can do with those. Umm... it is an IMPERIAL fortress... duh!

Excellent work! I like the asymmetric design of the building and the excellent roof the best. The whole thing is very well balanced. And I DID know the barrel was a chimney right away

I do have the pics of it by itself for the Community build thread, but I haven't worked on the second floor interior yet... The 15th is the deadline, correct?

I ran out of room as you can see- the docks will be with the sea wall and village eventually. I am moving the whole village area back towards the cathedral so the docks do not stick out into the path of flying canon balls from the fortress. Also, since the fortress will be about 8 studs wider- there are going to be some other changes there as well. Yes- there is an underground area under the cathedral and there are also all those canons under the fortress. You will notice there is a boat enterance in the sidewall of the fortress. Supplies can be brought in by boat and then raised from the hole into the store house or brought to the fortress. Biggest problems there are space and landscaping... I need to build up the landscaping around the cathedral and decide exactly where the village will start before they are all together for a picture. Well at least SOMEBODY notice the reference! April 24, 2010 is the big day.

The technic bircks and the very flat side windows are solely so the other buildings can attach and stay together for moving them etc. I used the four long technic brick because I am using a pair of 2 stud long 2 technic hole bricks on some of the other buildings- this allows me attach the buildings offset by 1/2 stud for some variety. There is not exactly a staircase- with such a limited space there is just a brown latter piece placed at an angle on the front portion of the building. The whole front side comes off so it is easier to see in- this also makes it look like there is no way to reach the second floor... Thank you rat- your community build is the first group type project I have participated in here at EB.

Good advice Teddy- Yeah- the red and tan building needs some overhauling. Mostly the red and the dark gray roofs are being used because I had the right roof pieces to make it work. I do think color and variety are the main enemies of the houses right now. I think regular red is going to be out as a color options, as well as the standard blue and yellow. I like the tan/brown color option a lot but I don't want to over use it!

Yes- early lighthouses were indeed made out of wood- they burned down- a lot.
-
Interior and posterior I will get to the second floor eventually-

Better shots of the lighthouse. With some better lighting.
-
Indeed it can be- plus who knows how the monitor is tuned. I am trying to use all the rare colors though to spice things up. I love the dark orange. You'll notice I also used the lovley dark green in the house on the left as well.

Changes happening at Fort Brighton East. I am making the fortress section 8 studs wider for a whole host of reasons- but mainly because I think it will help the aesthetics a lot. I also set up the white paper background (yuck) to take some pictures of the community build barrister’s office in the sunlight so I thought I would take the chance to reshoot the large dock section. I always thought the dock was cool- but the pictures didn’t quite do it justice. I think these look better! I also reshot the lighthouse- but the pictures will require more time to edit than I had this morning. Those I intend to post in the lighthouse thread later. When I have more progress on the wider fortress section the pictures will be posted here!- Until then- the new pics of the dock-
