Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
ZCerberus replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Both work. If the window is small geometry is better IMO, bigger, go with a picture. No matter what, be sure to get plenty of light through it!! -
I understand the complaint that builds done for another project get "shoehorned" into GoH. My general response has been good content is good content. However, I also understand what Kabel and Ska are saying. Some description about how this build ties into GoH, or using GoH banner colors etc does help these builds feel more like they are part of the world, and not like they are part of another project searching for free build points. If there only connection to GoH is that they could be a free build, then they may be more appropriate in the general history forum and not as much in GoH. We're pretty laid back in history, we usually let the people control the forum much more than other forums. With that said, veterans and guild leaders do tend to get protective of what we've built here and I understand the desire to have contributions tie into what's been done here. I have certainly made MOCs for other projects that I have repurposed to be here. I have no problem with doing that, but I also agree some way to tie it to GoH so others can expand on the ideas and stories of the MOC is preferable. I do think a little bit of background, no matter how minor, that ties the build into GoH is preferable. As for this MOC, it is very cool. Not only are the bucket handles neat, I also like the Mandalorian rocket pack used as a pair of candles! This build sort of reminds me of the "Dancing Bear, Hidden Dragon" MOC in my signature.

I also was not familiar with the word, but I say a picture of a big one and so I researched it. I believe they are used much more in the Middle East, though they were used in Europe at various times. Yes. Falls into the trough. I think in a more "realistic" version, the buckets would tip at the top, either through gravity or a post or stick that would tip the buckets.

That's a good point Ska, I really should clean out some old claims some day, but there are still unclaimed spots- so maybe we should fill those up first!

You can take the leader out of the guild, but you can't take the guild out of the leader!

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
ZCerberus replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Norah's Noria is up. -
Norah's Noria.
-
Nocturnian Brethren... you did not see this. In the heart of Albion lies Norah's Noria, a place for those too far from clean water (or when the city is under siege) to get a barrel. This noria is ox driven allowing more water to be pulled from the well than any hand cranked noria would allow. Norah's ox is named Draema. Draema is known to be the most powerful ox in all of Albion. Norah's elder son, Forman, guides Draema along the path to drive the noria's wheel. After the water is pulled from its source, the barrels are stored or loaded onto carts for distribution around the city. Norah's husband, a carpenter by trade, helps load the barrels onto a cart for delivery. For any citizen that misses the noria sitting out front of Norah's house, the structure can be identified by the water barrel sign hanging out front. Norah's younger son, Frasen, keeps the barn and store house clean. ===================================================================================== I designed this build to complement the Albion Forge that I did as a remix to the DC's classic "Ye Old Forge". The landscaping colors and contours are similar, but this time the design is all mine. There are parts of this build that I like better than the Forge, but overall I still think the Forge is a better show piece. A bonus shot:

I've got a new build, but it seems posting on mobile is too hard. I'll get official pics soon. -
The Emperor's Throne Room (Collectors Edition) - EPISODE VI
ZCerberus replied to AlejandroAng's topic in LEGO Star Wars
AlejandroAng, Eurobricks is a place for MOCs, not free add space for your auction. While you can post and discuss the MOC aspect of the project here, the links to more pictures should be to a photo sharing site and not to your Ebay auction. The MOC itself looks compelling, so if you wish to make changes to keep the MOC up for discussion, I will give you a day or two to take the right steps, otherwise we'll lock this thread. -
Nice work overall. I find this scheme to be quite pleasing.
-
This thread has been dead for 5 and 1/2 years! please only revive posts that are over a few months old if you have something REALLY worthwhile to add to the conversation.
-
Graham, please read what I wrote in the post above this one. Let's keep the discussion to "fresh topics" unless something really worthwhile comes up. Thank you.
-
The topic is a bit old for new discussion. Let's try to avoid bringing up new topics if the account is more than a few months old unless you have something new to add.

On Eurobricks at least, contests have to be hosted or approved by the moderators. This is because we want to ensure no other events are taking place in the same forum and so prizes will be sent from or someone on EB is held responsible if they are not. If you wish to host a contest here, I would contact the moderator in the forum you wish to host the forum on and talk to them about it.
