  1. That is a good looking army though Jason!
  2. ZSpammerinsky- for spamming this thread... sort of.
  3. Umm... yes I can, and I just did. Even if that is the ONLY place the part can be made, LEGO could still have more quality control. It usually doesn't bother me that much, so long as it is not really bad, but other people have other opinions on the matter. Beery, for example, clearly noticed it. It is NOT just the printing that's suspect on those parts either, the plastic quality is usually a little lower too. Battlepacks, CMFs and minifigs in games sets often also come from China and they have printing, plastic, and coloartion that isn't of the same quality as the minifigs made elsewhere. I understand LEGO may need to consider cost to make a printed part or tons of minifigures at a reasonable price but it is something for people to be aware of. If they are buying this set for the helmet in particular, then Beery has cautioned you that the printing may not be perfect and I am just adding the parts in the baggies are the parts to be most aware of. Cool. Those "brick" bricks are pretty swank. I also like the sand green parts. I saw a few shots of the "interior" and there is a pretty badass banner I wouldn't mind getting a nice close up of. It looks like it would be good in some Avalonian MOCs as well. Also, though it looks like you already have it built, but if there is any technique that is new or unusual, it would be cool to have a picture of that in progress if you find it worth your while.
  4. Oh noz! I am likely out of capes in general. Next one I find has your name on it.
  5. I think I mostly agree with that assessment. Some of the scoring is suspect to say the least! I appreciate that you have an eye out for the MOCers by pointing out the parts you think would be useful. Are we going to get a Helm's Deep review soon as well?
  6. Good work Beery. I do love the Uruks, they are badass. I have heard that parts in their own little bags usually come from China. Therefore, I think the helmet is from China and we know their standards aren't as good as the other fabrication places. The figs still look pretty cool though, and though simple, I do like the look of the ballista. Did you give this set a "score" at all? I suppose we don't really need one, just asking!
  7. Thanks and no prob. I had your figure from the Albion build, plus I loved your "Dekster" thing so much I had to include you!
  8. Another day, another new name. ZOrange Though what I said was my "favourite colour was ourange"... Missed that pesky "u" guys! Edit: ZOUrange Thanks for the fix!
  9. Too bad we don't have a history mod right now...
  10. I think I might go with ZCerberU.S.A
  11. The "jest" part was the nourth only, not the favourite, or neighbour parts... Somehow I knew you would say that though. ZCerberOus: name change again- the capitalization of the O could have been multiple people. I would guess it was Rick again, but Hinck and Ricey were lurking as well.
  12. *I will get a new photo of only Trian Burress soonish. Name: Trian Burress Rank: Lord of Mesodraconem Age: 51 Weapon of Choice: Javelin and shield (mounted) and Axe (on foot) History: Sir Burress, an old friend to the Artorious Rex's father, helped free the Enchanted Forest from the clutches of the House of Baine during Avalonia's "wild period". It is said Burress’s well timed cavalry charge through the Enchanted Forest finally broke the House of Baine at the Battle of Eli’s Rock. As a reward for his service, Lord Rex awarded Sir Burress Lordship over Mesodraconem and a post in the capital city of Albion to help rebuild the Pearl City to its former glory. Little is known Burress’s life before joining forces with Artorious’s father to free the Enchanted Forest from the terror of the House of Baine. Some say he was born to a Kaliphlin woman and Mitgardian man in a Nocturnus dungeon while others claim he is the secret heir and only surviving member of the House Greffin. The House of Burress may not rule Mesodraconem for long as Lord Burress, middle-aged at best, has never been married and has sired no children; though he has been linked in rumor to an Elven priestess named Mitress Greenclove. Lord Burress’s first orders of business when named Lord of Mesodraconem was to rebuild all the public schools and commission a new garrison at River Run Watchtower. He has since been questing throughout all of Historica to track down the rumored surviving members of the House of Baine.
  13. I thought maybe it was the bad Guns N' Roses joke I made.
  14. Not a title... a striaght up name change to ZCerberous - for writing in jest that Canada was "My favourite neighbour to the nourth" Given by Rick.
  15. I guess when I thought about the challenge your "creative" approach to the guardian was great, I just wish it would have been fleshed out so it felt like you built a scene AND a gaurdain. I know the time constraints will always make one wish they could have done that one more thing! I am still lobbying to get you some sort of castle tag...
  16. When the challenge was extended, I was nearly done with the "Keeper's Tomb". I was building up more soldiers for my Avalonian army when I ran across the Wolfpack torsos. I was pulling dark red arms off a different torso for the Avalonains when I thought of using the dark red arms on the Wolfpack torsos. I instantly felt the figs looked sharp again, and I loved the theme so much, I knew I had to remake the tower. I thought it turned out really well and makes me want to do another "remake". Thanks rogue. The well came from the left over technic liftarm bricks I had from Rossen Manor. I am glad you like the details on the outside, since I think that is my forte. I was staring at that hairpiece for a long time thinking about how it looked like folded vulture wings. The hairpiece isn't really attached to the rest of the bird, but it is stable with the way it is resting. They were fun, and I am surprised it is one of the main things people have focused in on! On this build though, I really did try something different by building my first interior. The floor took FOREVER to wedge all those cheese slopes in there. I think you should know that with all the cheese slope floors you've done. I have used a similar stained glass technique before, but I had to adjust it so it looked nice on both the inside AND the outside. No one really noticed the interior minibuilds like the candelabras and the chandelier... I think they sort of got lost in the build since the action and the guardians are so prevalent in those shots. Maybe I should focus one build solely on an interior to see if I can get some feedback on that stuff.
  17. Someone else gave you the title, but I gave you the name
  18. Holy crap... this will be a little hard... 4)Erynlasqalen = 1 point 9)Ecclesiastes = 1 point 11)Cara = 2 point 33)Taz = 1 point That was tough, there were others I really wanted to give points to (Captain Beerbeard, gabe, rogueang, Basiliscus, lisq, de Gothia...) but alas, I could only hand out 5 points.
  19. Ohhhh... and all this time I though it was another name for the original Guns n' Roses.
  20. no YOU'RE a hack and slash! I really have no idea what that means.
  21. I like a lot about this. I like the rock work, the falls, the bridge and that the whole thing is contained in a single MOC rather than being two or three different detached builds. I also swear I've seen that stained glass window technique before. I think the ape guy looks very much like an ape, so that is good, but he just didn't seem as impossing as some other guardians. I know an ape could probably tear a person to bits, but he just doesn't seem as scary in LEGO. Good work again man!
  22. Some really cool stuff here gabe. I like how you did the "perspective" work with background stuff in the windows in the first scenes and the island in the later scenes. I love the look of the island and the profile shot of the "face" is especially great. I like the use of the lighting below the pool to light the gem, very nice. I am not the biggest fan of the island itself being the guardian... it just doesn't quite fit the "spirit" of building a scene and a gaurdian to me... I guess I don't know how to explain it better than that... but that might just be my opinion. Overall, another great gabe entry. Some one give this guy a cool tag or something!
  23. Very nice. My favorite I think.
