  1. 64 x 64 is 4,096 stud area. That is way more than the 2,304 stud area in the rules. I do NOT think that is what is being said at all. I think what is being said is if you build a scene on a 48 x 48 baseplate with "reaosnable" overhang (like a 2 plate think border, or a tree that hangs over the edge a bit) you are good to go. For this challenge specifically, if you need 5 or 6 more studs to make the micro landscape work with the scene, then they will be flexible on that point. Enlarging ALL of the scene on every side to fit your vision however isn't what they have in mind. DC is suggesting that the build does not need to be square, but he and ISC are not saying the general restriction can be ignored. It's hard to know if you are serious or not some times... you are a cagey one Mr. Beard.
  2. I have quite a few of the Uruk set and in ONE of the 5 I have purchased the bow was a really, REALLY, REALLY light color... almost translucent. I kept it because it was interesting. Another thing to consider, LEGO will replace parts that are damaged out of the box. Go to the website for information on that.
  3. It's so precious! Great work with making it look organic. SoF used to mean "Soldier of Fortune" to me, now it means Summer of Friends!!
  4. I think I may have taken some pics of them. Not sure if I got any close-ups though... Though they are derivative works of the stuff the leaders had already posted, I still think they are cool enough to get their own thread if we can find some photos.
  5. Bring back the pack! Bring back the PACK!! I think you linked this creation to my MOCpages for a remake of the wolfpack tower that I did. Though I like the classic look, I feel it needs a little more updating to be compelling, but that is really something for the CUUSOO to work through. Anyhow, the shape and idea are really cool. The wolfpack didn't survive as long as they should have.
  6. This is really cool! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  7. Don't know about the rest of the world, but here in Minnesota we have a good mix of trees. Pines and maples and oaks can all live together!
  8. Same for me. I do think many of us have indeed gotten much better. It is almost like the guild leaders KNEW that would happen!! Remember as well that this needs to be an ACTION scene!
  9. We have some elite guards. See!! And so does Mitgardia. Anybody started on Challenge 4 yet? I sort of have part of a base but that is about it. some of the other guilds closed a bit of the gap on us. Let's stretch our lead out again!!
  10. Belafrein, you jerk! Nice work. At first my eye was just drown to the trees, but on the second look I saw the brewery. Maybe on a second attempt make the scenery a bit smaller and the buildings a bit bigger? Otherwise, it does convey a cool sense of size that I dig.
  11. Welcome wakeboarder. Have a look around and be sure to check out the first page of this thread for information on our guild.
  12. Who says that's me? I 'spose Cam did and I did admit to building the gatehouse. I always think my voice sounds WAY higher and different on tape than it does in my mind's eye. A bit too short? Me or the video clip? Compared to ISC or Big Cam I am short for shizzle.
  13. For those of you who NEVER leave this sub forum... Big Cooler... err... Cam posted a video by the guys from "A Look at LEGO" podcast who took a look around the EB Guilds table. You can find Cam's post here Click me, click me!!! Or you can find it at A Look at Lego
  14. Minnesota. Yummy chicken.
  15. Howdy. Another American in the fold! Enjoy!
  16. You can filter your searches to only include UK stores. I have ordered from a few German stores and I have had good luck with that. Juts pick a store with good feedback. A few times I have had an order with a small issue, but it has always been corrected! Make a small order to start from a store if you are concerned.
  17. There were blue coats invading the fort, I promise. CopMike made sure of it.
  18. I just watched it really quick like and I did mention Mitgardia. I didn't say anything about the dragon or thrones though. More space in the future for sure.
  19. I am pretty sure on Avalonia, Albion and Nocturnus. Desertlandia though... Kaliphlin... Not so much. They sort of jumped me. The light was super bright. Well I brought the gatehouse and towers, but the throne rooms were super cool and darkdragon brought those. rogueang's build was cool, but it sort of got jammed in the back. Very cool interior on that one. The kids really loved Hyler's dragon and the adults really loved Si's micro castle.
  20. Oh good. We can send the Elite to fight the elementals! Nice looking build. I am on my phone now, so I will try to spot the missing ladder later
  21. I got the sneak peak at Brickworld. Love the bionicle-esque parts on the outside and great work on the interior. Could you also post at least one picture in the Albion thread itself. Here is the link so you need not go a-searchin' Click me for Albion!
  22. gatehouses are cool man!
  23. Might makes right... plus, denying true love... potential shame on Elon!
  24. I was only referring to the individual nominations inside the pirates display, but yes, we cleaned up outside of the display as well. To congratulate the other winners Rufus & Pandora (best small building), Si (master builder) and CopMike (charitable awesomeness) go here.
  25. Don't worry, I would instruct them to be polite. At first. Besides, don't you think Triann Burress is also someone not to be messed with?
