  1. There will be an extra second added to the 31st of December this year. I suggest you use it for LEGO. However, since you just read this topic you've already lost it. Easy come, easy go!
  2. I'm not very good building in a team. I've tried before but didn't like it. On other issues, this should be in LEGO News & General Discussion. Community is just for stuff that's non-LEGO, or only vagually LEGO.
  3. I love mine! Done!
  4. Ya know, when I joined EB I planned to vote in the Beauty Pagent topics by Athos, make an intro topic, this topic, and then go back to being a lurker.....
  5. Great work RTN LNA (Lego Naval Architect)!
  6. Depends on your settings and browser. No offence intended, but for some people it's easier to just restart the computer.
  7. I'm sorry.... (Artists. ) He was very cool, but I preferred R2. Ras was great too; it's interesting how that head with any body is Ras. I got it recently too! ...and while it's an old joke, the "I can't find my motivation" always gets a laugh from me. (I think Spongebob Squarepants did that joke best in the "Missing Identity" episode where Patick needed to say "Hi Spongebob!".) (BTW, you're making me want to experiment with different arms....)
  8. Where's the Imitation Anime walrus?
  9. I've made a change to the calendar on day 11... Six more winners to go! Thanks!
  10. Another great review from dunamis! Now I'm undecided about this set. I was against it, but you've swayed me a bit. It has some very cool details though. By the way, most of the new parts are semi new but since I have them they can't be that new! The "New yellow widget" has been in use in technic engine blocks for years.
  11. Don't worry; this is still 10 times better than anything I could do. I've started on a building several times but it always looks like a 10 year old made it... But seriously, even the V-19 used the turntable trick... just like inside-out tires it's been done to death. In January my time should be better... but I'll talk about this later via PM.
  12. It's not a rank. It's to do with the Reviewers Academy.
  13. We have a whole topic on prototypes here. What you want is picture number one!
  14. Last few days! I sent out nag PMs to winners from days 1-12 who haven't sent me their names and addresses. (I've had a few packages come to me with mis-labled addresses but correct name... ) What!?!! You guys want all of my secrets!! Only joking. I was deliberatly being evasive over this point as I didn't want everyone asking for the answers! Yes, barring changes, I know all the winners. I picked them all prior to posting the calendar. The Calendar is witten in PHP (like this board is) and based on the website time reveals each days winners. (Changing your computer clock won't help you! ) I designed it that way as some days I don't have time to get on Eurobricks so it needed to be automatic. I did consider making the calendar itself pick the winners, but I decided it was more trouble than it was worth. Thanks for the update!
  15. That's a problem. So do you need to log in everyday or not? I'm a bit confused after reading your last line...
  16. WTS - Atlantis Sliding on snow and ice is nothing to a walrus, so they aren't satisfied with relying on mere gravity. That's why Sinner's is a converted space shuttle. 1,225,704 pounds of thrust would be too much for many creatures, but the thick skull of a walrus can handle anything. Note the handy bucket storage rack. Due to the Orbital Maneuvering System pods it's surprisingly nimble; 360 degree turns are possible! Thus this is the sled that will run rings around the rest! I did consider showing a view from the rear, but you'll be seeing plenty of that later...
  17. Yes, I am. That's it; I'm moving to Europe... Same here...
  18. You've got it all wrong. It just a case of him being so excited about Star Wars that he can't type whenever he thinks of it.
  19. Nice set, but as others have said, the steering deception is not nice. I did expect that's what it was, but others may not. On a similar note, I wish they would ditch the CG covers. I realise it's easier for them, but it's also deceptive. I'll probably buy this still. Thanks for the review. Yes, you have! It's a new, but very similar part.
  20. Actually it's the USS Michigan...
  21. The winners keep on coming with the Eurobricks Advent Calendar; 18 days, 54 winners! Only one line is left to be revealed; could you be a winner? So give it a look as it lets you see at a glance if you've won the main prize of the day. But every day there's also a keyring winner, and a Mini Jedi Fighter winner... but you'll need to check out the calendar yourself to find out those! As a taste, here are some of the winners and their prizes so far; Day 12 - Peg Leg Pascoe 7251 Darth Vader Transformation Day 13 - sir dano 7214 Promo sea plane Day 16 - Shell-head 7736 ATV Day 17 - hewkii9 5621 Kayak Day 18 - meschepers 7770 Aqua Raiders Discuss and/or ask questions about the calendar here.
  22. 24 winners to go! To answer a question, yes it's OK to give the address of someone else. What could be more in the spirit of the season?! I'm still missing some addresses...
  23. Fellows and above.
  24. Yes, I have this set. This set is actually a LEGO turning point for me oddly. My exit from the dark ages was interesting as it had three main stages; Cheap LEGO purchases. Seeing 7249 and thinking it was the best Lego set ever and after a lot of bother (that's a story in itself ) buying it while saying "This is my last LEGO set." Seeing 7075 half price and after my hinting failed to persuade my wife to buy it for me, I decided to come out of the closet, declare my love for LEGO, and start buying sets again. ...but back on topic, what did I think of the set? Well like many I wanted this set as I had no pirates at all, and my collection still sux in that area. However, I soon realised that while this set was better than nothing, it isn't good. There are too many big pieces that are really hard to use (the stern, the big brown piece, the head, the railings), there aren't enough sails, and the men are just horrid. I ended up turning mine into a skeleton ship. (Remember that I had no pirates at the time.) Here's an old photo of it. I've worked on it a bit since, but it still sux. Integrating that stern piece was the hardest part, but the hull isn't the best to work with either. Thus in summary, I say that this is not a good set, but it's OK if you really want a hull, so I give it 2. (I gave the figures to my kids! )
