Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
Siegfried replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Last day Wednesday. I got one; it has a Clone Wars box... -
I've got yours.... plus 5 or so others that I didn't want!
-
It's sorta OK. It's not too big, it's not square.... but we try to discourage people using the LEGO logo in an avatar as it can make people think that the member is a TLG rep... Err... guys... only send me your address if you're a winner. The calender will show if you are a winner. I don't want 4000 PMs with addresses.... At this stage Matteo Kenobi, xenologer and legopiotre are the only people who should be sending me a PM.
-
To answer a few questions; 24 x 3 prizes in total. (72) People can win one prize only People with complying avatars can win the main prizes, others can only win the sub prizes. (See, I wasn't just being mean! People need an avatar or othewise the calender wouldn't work....) The picture is just a backdrop for the calender, made from my own pieces. It's not being given away.

'tis the season for... free LEGO! The Eurobricks Advent Calender 2008 is up now and you could be a winner! Every day three winners will be revealed; the main prize on the calender itself, a key ring prize, and a 6966 Mini Jedi Starfighter. Go to the Eurobricks Advent Calender 2008 discussion page for more details.
-
This is the follow up to the Mystery Raffle. If you entered in that then you're in. The calender is here...

'tis the season for... free LEGO! The Eurobricks Advent Calendar 2008 is up now and you could be a winner! (This is the follow up to the Mystery Raffle. If you entered in that then you're in.) Go to the Eurobricks Advent Calendar 2008 discussion page for more details.

(This is the follow up to the Mystery Raffle. If you entered in that then you're in.) Rules All winners (and just the winners) need to PM Sinner (that's me) your name and address ASAP. You should send your real name (or at least part of it) as well for correct addressing. We can't send letters to "BigBlocks69"... Send a PM if you don't want the prize (for whatever reason) and we'll pick someone else. There are a lot of prizes... and thus it's possible that a mistake might be made. Please don't throw M%g^ Bl*ks at us if we can't send exactly what we want. You are allowed to do swaps with any other prize winners on any given day. The winners need to arrange this with each other via PM and then both of you need to tell me via PM ASAP. Other swaps are also allowed... but do note that if the prize holder (no names, but I hold none of the prizes) has been given the address then it's too late. Don't ask for any help in arranging one. FAQ 24 x 3 prizes in total. (72) People can win one prize only. People with complying avatars can win the main prizes, others can only win the sub prizes. (See, I wasn't just being mean! People need an avatar or othewise the calender wouldn't work....) To try to reduce the endless questions, a complying avatar is under 400x400. 100x100 is preferred, but smaller ones are acceptable as well. The picture is just a backdrop for the calender, made from my own pieces. It's not being given away. Only send me your address if you're a winner. I don't want 4000 PMs with addresses.... While some prizes are better than others, there is no grand prize. The Jedi fighters are to be sent in one batch next year, the others are sent a few days after the addresses are received. (Don't thank me for the prizes; I'm just organising this. )

Actually I think this has been one of the best years... and I've got the bank balance to prove it! But I'm surprised that you don't like how the ships match; it is more believable that way. It's bad enough that the Republic seem to re-costume and re-equip every few years, if their fleet didn't look like a unified force it would be even worse. That's what I think. It's the same story as the box design. The Hailfire droid set was even reboxed...

The biggest Prize Pool in AFOL fansite history?
Siegfried replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
You're past the deadline... -
I love this set and I gave it "Outstanding". I might note though that the cylinder is just there as a dampener; when disenegaged the wing function still works, just not as smoothly. Interestingly though the cylinder is an old piece, (I have a few others) it's just that this is the first time it's been used without a spring... I had no problems assembling this set.

It's OK. Hinckley does say at the start... ...but maybe we should have been clearer.
-
Thanks for letting me live...

"this person" is EB. EB runs at a loss, most of which Jipay pays out of his own pocket. (None of the staff are paid either.) Aside from being a bit of fun and a good way to get some rare pieces cheap, this raffle is a way to help offset these costs. I hope I've made it clearer for you.

Welcome back Lego Customs...
-
Times up! You'll hear the result of this sometime soonish. I have loads of sorting to do.
-
Yes. The site resizes them.
-
It's hosted on EB; all locally hosted avatars are 100 pixels or smaller.
-
One day to go before the entries close. Remember that those with the Avatars of Evil cannot enter the Land of Prizes...

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Siegfried replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the update. Site launches aren't as exciting as set launches. -
Well my knowledge of UK bankruptcy law is even worse than my US so I'll have to take your word for it! (I have heard though that the UK doesn't even use the term "bankrupt".)
-
From what I know, remembering that I'm not a US type... Chapter 7: Liquidation. Everything is closed down, and assets are sold off ASAP, often in 4 months or less. Generally done if the bankruptee has nothing worth selling and wants to move on. Chapter 13: Reorganization. This is what Circuit City and Woolworths are doing. (Although it's the UK equivalent for Woolworths.) Administrators come in and try to re-organise the company and strip the dead weight away. It can take years, but many companies survive this, and as long as it lasts it's business as usual.
-
Wow! I wouldn't be counting on a sale though, for one read this story, and secondly, sales will just kill the company when they want to keep it going so they can sell it off. Circuit City in the USA is going through a similar process.
-
It doesn't make any difference.
-
Ooops! I saw you posted here and feared the worst! Sorry!
