Really awesome design you have here! The front is by far my favorite section. With the intakes and the shaping around the headlights, it has that "mean" look that I would expect from some modern day muscle cars. The one thing I find a bit odd is the black flex cable on the back of the car going over top of the racing stripes, however that's quite nitpicky.

That depends entirely on how much you feel they are worth. Certainly the price could vary greatly, some people may sell a lot of them for cheap, or you may get stuck paying a large price increase for a figure that sealed or still with it's packaging and such. If you have an interest in the figures and want to have them, then that makes them worth getting in my opinion. They may seem primitive in design compared to modern day figures, however I personally liked them for what they were. But again, that's more for you to decide, their instructions exist online so you can see what sort of features they had with gearboxes and the disks, etc. They weren't the worst figures ever produced, and if you enjoyed the early years of Bionicle then I see no reason why someone would have a distaste for Slizers. Again that entirely depends on what kind of a MOCist you are. If the parts look useful then they have potential, if you don't think you'll ever use them, then no. If "fun" to you is posing them, then they won't fulfill that very well as they aren't the most dynamic looking characters, however with some of their functions like the disks I'm sure they have some play value. And personally I like their older designs and some of the unique colors they had, so I think they are fun.

The new singer is pretty good. A lot of times when a band loses a singer and replaces them, they just...change I guess, but the classic Three Days grace sound is still here and Matt feels like a good way to carry the band onward instead of seeming like a poor replacement for Adam. And also this Ironically another band that lost their singer (Well not Apocalyptica, but Flyleaf lost Lacey. Not a fan of the new singer as their sound has changed a bit due to her)

I'm usually only caught by the first fool I see, after that I realize what day it is and kind of expect everything else- But even in this case that wasn't the most convincing trick I've seen, I think the article could have been worded a bit better if Huw really wanted to sound more serious about it. Of course it's hard to really convince someone of it when they look at the date, but still. Some of us are still trying to hold our ground and fight them off, but their numbers are too many!

How much did you snag that chrome Hau for? I've been meaning to get to rebuilding my collection through BL but I haven't looked at the price guides for masks and such

Huge fan of Mt Eden, I'm much more into chillstep and liquid dubstep with solid bass lines.

I made a comparison of the two in my Evo walker review; They have very similar designs, especially when you look at the legs.

Yes they were originally introduced in City last year, but only in the trans light blue. The trans black ones are, currently, exclusive to HF sets. Sets containing the piece Being as it isn't a very common piece yet I think it'll be a while before we see it in PAB, if at all.

As for the cocoons, I'm not as opposed to the more translucent look as opposed to the opaque look as I previously was. While I do think that the more opaque colors are more vibrant, for example Tunneler Beast's cocoon shell on his back would be more of a lime green vs a transparent green, they do look nice overall and it gives them a more "alien" or organic feeling, especially if we are able to see the shadow of the minifigure/jumper inside of it.

As much as I disliked the figures that came with the house due to the face prints, these look far better. Will most likely grab a decent amount, I kind of want to complete the whole wave- hopefully other people feel the same, there will need to be a lot of trading with these guys as duplicates really won't be useful.

A company cancelling a toyline is nothing new and not that rare. Hasbro, Maisto, Mattel all do it, and often it is cancelling an entire wave of figures after they've been publicly revealed. Lego doesn't do it all too often, but I can't say i'm surprised that they did. There are most likely a wide slew of sets that have been created in prototype form but never made it to the public, it's just in this particular case the sets made it a step further. If anything i'm a bit surprised that the sets were as far along as they were, the parts did not appear to be prototype material, they were fully produced which means that there was already molds in existence for those parts. (Chest and head pieces that is, the one armor add-on is on Queen Beast so we will at least get that part.)

For me it's more of an issue of being a budgeted buyer. I buy system sets because I like the set, which is mainly why I stick to Star Wars (because it's a theme I like and the sets look good on display afterward for me) With constraction themes I usually always scrap them down for parts after a while, the entire wave of IFB that I got back in November has already been taken apart. So for me it means I have to resort to BL to get parts that are exclusive to a system set because I don't necessarily need the system parts or like the set. (The same logic of course can be applied to any constraction set, but generally any constraction parts will be a good addition to my collection seeing as that's what I moc with) A minor nitpick f course, anything that means more parts is good with me. Constraction systems being implemented into the brick systems is definitely showing progression, one major one that I've noticed is the implementation of the ball and socket system into system sets in mechs and turrets. At first it was the click-hinge system (creator, 2006 exo force, even teridax and the Bahrag used a variant of that) and then we saw mechs begin to use the 2x2 brick with socket or balljoint. Ignoring the fact that those joints shattered to pieces because they used that terrible 08-10 design, they are now a big part of system builds. I think we saw less of this implementation with Bionicle because it was so technic-drawn at the start, and given that technic was already making its way to being the structuring element for a lot of larger system sets and functions, the only true Bionicle influences could have been weapons or masks or something. With hero factory the part styles fit in a lot more with system sets than bionicle parts did (they are a lot less stylized. Every character has the same type of shell piece, just flat and in that general shape) so it can be used in other things and people don't think "that should be a leg shouldn't it?" For example, "Ew they have more gray rahkshi limbs?" We associated parts with a character. With hero factory, we more commonly refer to shells and pieces as their name and not in reference to a character (with some exceptions. Drilldozers chest armor, for example) I think that really helps with what DeeVee referenced with this being a more universal 'gateway" to system parts, and it does so quite well. It's not the direction I personally like it going, but that matters not.

No there has only been trans yellow with waspix and silver with drilldozer. (Quite a shame, I really love that shell and would love to have it in a more inspiring range of colors..) Not planning on getting that set but I'll scavenge BL for it. Reminds me of back in the day when EF had recolors of Bionicle parts (though I did purchase those sets, whereas I have no interest in the Chima system sets) Always nice to see themes bring cross-enticed in that way.

I gave up on Hero Factory's story a long time ago. It's too dry and uninspiring. I know I'm reverting to my usual "bionicle master race" attitude here, but there were aspects of Bionicle's story that Hero factory completely lacks. Mainly, character development in Hero Factory is crap. In the first year, we got to see a lot of the heroes and their attitudes, especially the rookies and stormer. As years progressed, they have become Heroes with nothing that makes them very unique at this point (they do not have the characteristic traits of the first year) and villains are now just mindless beasts with no interaction to make us care about them in any way. And even in stories like Breakout where the villains were a huge focus, all we got from them was "haha try to kill me heroes you won't win" The story can be as creative as you want, but when the characters have no individuality, it really makes the entire story as a whole quite terrible. And for "ignore the story then", the story is what made me buy everything Bionicle, and the same case with DC Universe classics, marvel legends, and transfomers. I only buy 1-2 sets a year now, just because I think they look well made. I'd pick a lot more up if I loved them in the story.
