  1. Thanks Vlad! Nowhere near as menacing as yours, but I had fun with it! Thanks! Well, I really like your big version. Thanks Infernum! Thanks for the link! I've never seen Avatar so I'm glad you jumped in with that one! To each his own I really like the cartoony feel, but I know it's not for everyone. I guess you could say that they are so big because they are so blind!
  2. Ouch, talk about the wounds of a friend. But really, you are right. I went too fast on this one. I've already posted phase 2 because I hadn't read this before doing so, but if it's okay I will rebuild this today and post some better pictures in this topic. ThanksI I'm glad you like the minifig and you can see from my response to Kabel that I agree about the tree. I will amend my hurriedness soon!
  3. It was pretty sturdy. The front flaps made out of the Sarlac pieces were a little flimsy, but the rest was solid.
  4. Thanks Markus, I'm glad you like it
  5. They are indeed Friends parts. I'm following the Mitgardian trend of picking up some Friends sets. I really like some of them as parts packs. You can actually see the storage room here. Thanks Damaximus! I will strive to More builds coming later today!
  6. This is a great first MOC! Great forced perspective and I think your build has just the right amount of details. The lighting isn't perfect, but for your first, it's pretty darn good.
  7. Oh wow. Every other post is by Behemoth! I'm glad to see your first build though! I think this needs to be sticky-ed somewhere. This is an incredibly useful list. I've come to learn these truths the hard way, through much Bricklink ordering and then ordering again after realizing I really needed more pieces and more plates! Thanks for putting this together Gabe. I hope it helps some of the new members.
  8. With the armor and the name "Stark" I was also thinking of Iron Man. (walks away humming Iron Man theme music...)
  9. I think you did well with what you had to work with because you're right. 1x1s would be blocky. I guess you could have poored actual grape juice on the build, but I'm sure that wouldn't be your first choice for an alternative to the horns
  10. I thought they had only covered the first 2 movies in the first Hobbit game, no? Doesn't that preclude that they have to make a 2nd Hobbit game? Kinda like they did for Indiana Jones.
  11. See the previous tales: Wyndor's Saga: Chapter 1 -What Has Past- Chapter 2 Part 10: A New Home Part 10.1:Blunted Edges Part 10.2: Cramped Spaces Part 10.3: Enthusiastic Worker Part 11.0 Part 11: Mysterious Death It was nearing the end of Summer in Dalig Ulv which meant that the light frost that came in the mornings started to stay longer in the areas that got less sunlight than others. Mitgardians were used to seeing snow 80% of year. The town watch of Dalig Ulv stayed well covered when they were on shift. This was a particularly cold evening and it was just beginning. So when the guard was told to take a break for an hour and was slipped a few coins. He didn't ask any questions. He wouldn't have needed to ask questions anyway since this wasn't the first time that Lief had bribed him to give him a few uninterrupted hours in the watchtower by himself. Lief waited till the guard was on his way back to the city wall before settling in to wait for his visitor. He didn't have to wait long until the hooded woman hoisted herself up into the tower. "I grow tired of waiting!" said Lief through his teeth. "Patience sir. The time has almost come. Each day we draw closer to unleashing the Tri-Council on Mitgardia" answered the woman. "You are starting to get sloppy" said Lief. "Pjeter and Wyndor found some of your handiwork near Treacleheim." "Do not worry yourselves with our business" replied the woman. "Continue to supply us with gold and the items we request, and we will take care of the rest. You will not have to worry about anyone else standing in your way for much longer."
  12. Wow! I'm already pulled into your story. Keep it coming!
  13. Great details! I love the architecture and style!
  14. Here is my Mount Up entry: And an AoM build:
  15. Well thanks guys. I do have more pieces to make it taller, but I wanted it to be short to make the picture look better/be easier to take And since it's a phase 1 I figured it'd work. I already have phase 2 done, but I'm waiting to make sure I "pass" before posting it.
  16. That trunk! First you use guns for trees, and now cannons for trunks! Amazing! A agree that the bow-legs look awkward, but it's not too bad.
  17. Nice! But you beat me to this one! I was planning on building it today and it was going to look similar. I'll just have to make sure I add some different flare
  18. Lots of fur Thanks guys! I'm glad you like it Gunman! I for one and sure glad you did the FF tribute instead! That is still my favorite mount so far!
  19. Here is my entry:
  20. Long ago in Treacleheim the Dwarves of Mitgardia used Ice Moles to dig their larger passageways for them. They were raised from birth by trainers and could be commanded with clicks and hoots. They are a rare sight in Mitgardia now. But some Dwarves still raise them and use them on the north side of the Mitgardian mountain range. More pictures on my flickr!
  21. Previously Edited: (Obviously the narator's memory of how the tree looked was a little fuzzy and he has since been reminded of what it really looked like) The guard in the tree recognized the face of his fellow Blue Wolf and let him pass without asking any questions. If Feanor was in this much of a hurry then there must be something very important that he needed to tell their leader.
  22. Amazing use of armor! This is a fantastic build!
  23. I wanted/needed direction in my Lego building and when I saw that this was starting it seemed the perfect opportunity. Little did I know that I would be sucked into the world of AFOLs and end up spending twice as much on Legos a month than I had before as well as dedicating hours of my life to this amazing hobby! I joined SoNE first, but it lead me to join GoH and both have been wonderful to be a part of. I look forward to what the next year may bring.
  24. Does this mean we'll be seeing you in the next challenge too NinjaNin?
