  1. Raiding my family's old lego collection. Vintage parts prepare to be MOC'ed!

  2. Raiding my family's old lego collection. Vintage parts prepare to be MOC'ed!

  3. A limited amount of parts often leads to the most creativity. Try to find a way around your lack of parts. You might be surprised with how creative you can get!
  4. Ok, fair enough. I recant some of my ranting. I didn't realize there was a difference between a raffle and a contest. That's good to know
  5. I hope I don't come across as too harsh, but I feel that the builds for this contest have been sub-par. To everyone who posted a "quick-build-just-to-win-a-prize," shame on you. Your goal should have been to build a good looking MOC, not a few minifigs on a plate. There are very few entries that I feel are worthy of even entering into a contest let alone winning anything. That's my two cents worth, take it for what it's worth.
  6. Very nice. I enjoyed this a lot. Thanks for putting all the work into it that you did.
  7. Well, everyone else has already said it but I have to echo it because I like it so much: "NPU with the helmets."
  8. I was going to say the same thing! Also, using the "flower" setting should greatly improve your pictures.
  9. Yes, it's very nice to see a unique sort of character for Nocturnus (though most of them can be labelled "unique"). I'm looking forward to your builds!
  10. I completely agree! The more variety in minifigures the more options there are. While I'm not a big fan of the Simpsons minifig line, I don't think it ruins it. And if they at least came out with a series 12 next year it would totally make up for the non-generic minifig collectible series. At least the Lego movie line and MMO line will be usable in any Lego context. The Simpsons will be a lot more limited in their part usage. Though, we will probably end up with many more city torsos.
  11. I am in the process of improving my backgrounds. You're not the only person who's mentioned it so I know it's a necessity to work on. I didn't have time to improve on it before talking these pictures, but soon I'm hoping there will be better backgrounds on my pictures
  12. I've seen many of these explained before, but I've never seen so comprehensive a guide! Thank you for sharing!
  13. Here's my entry: Cole thinks he should have left taking the presents down the chimney to Kai, the ninja of fire.
  14. I really like how the flames show that he is falling into the magma! Very nice effect. The landscape is a little bear though. If you don't have any plants you can add you might try adding more textual to the ground. Also, try pushing your brown pieces together better. In your first shot there are cracks between the bricks because they haven't been fully connected. Altogether though, a great start!
  15. Reminds me of the Basilisk fighters the Mandalorians from Star Wars fly in the comics.
  16. I love the SNOT cheese-slopes as a roof! Is that original to you or did you get it from someone else?
  17. All of your plants are amazing! I especially like the large red flower and the tan flower/mushrooms made with the horn and technic piece. Beautiful all-around!
  18. Those wings are 3rd party right and not from the new bat-Chima sets coming next year? These builds are amazing. Great story, great pictures, great builds, great everything! My favorite part has to be the tree by the tower. Love the beefy tree branches!
  19. Would you mind explaining what you mean by the "5 plates high/2 studs long" formula? I'm still trying to learn some the more well known secrets to SNOT building and other techniques besides brick-on-brick.
  20. Wish I had picked up one of these while they were still available in stores. Ah, so many regrets!
  21. My favorite part is your snot work on the parapets. Incredible! I also like the staircase and the black thorns on the vine. Curved staircases are tricky for me, but your technique is absolutely flawless!
  22. Ah, what a great set. So many click hinges and 2x6 plates! And so believable as a real attack machine! (catching my sarcasm?) In all actuality I bought two of these after they came out but ended up selling both of them to help pay my wife's school bills.
  23. Can I be the one who gets your "gift" copy? I thought it was confirmed that there was a seagull in the set?
  24. Go the the GoH thread and choose a guild. Post your character's story and picture on the thread of the Guild your want to join and you're in! I recommend reading through the introduction to all the guilds before deciding and maybe posting a question or two in the thread before choosing. We are a diverse bunch and you're guarenteed to fit in somewhere, but it's good to know who you'll be working with before you join. For example, I'm in Mitgardia and it's a wonderful guild, but it might not be the place you fit in best. For Mitgardia go Here, For Avalonia go Here. For Kaliphlin go Here. For Nocturnus go Here.
  25. That's it! Bricklink! I need more jumper plates!
