  1. And why ladders, why not escalators, elevators, or transport beams? Nice work ISC. This sure looks like a fun board game to play. Ladders always seemed a bit useless in 2-D anyway. Plus you have cool minifigs to move about instead of boring pawns.
  2. Thanks for the tip. I ordered 'The Brick' magazine.
  3. Blogged today before you even posted it to EB...
  4. LowLUG (Dutch LUG) participated in this year's first round as well. 'Stuifzand' (she also has an account here on EB) did the administrative part and what I understand from it, everything went fine in her communication with Jan Beyer. We followed the exact same procedure as you did (and we thought we were 'over-organizing' it ) and also were required to order in multiples of 50 (per person), except for a handful of more expensive parts, which we made sure of we ordered in multiples of 50 for LowLUG as a whole. I think Stuifzand is intending to also participate in a second round in 2010.
  5. Looks like I'm a little late to the party... Always nice to see a peaceful castle scene done, well peaceful, ... a little drunken dwarf chair throwing (luckily they're wearing their helmets), and some innocent spell casting practice high above the dinner table. I really like these nicely detailed interior scene with lots of attention to detail: the doors, the big fireplace, the really colorful windows, and of course the very clever beams. Excellent MOC ISC.
  6. Great entry. As already said, the roof in combination with the color of the rest of the building in really nice. I also like the detailed interior you made and the little canon design.
  7. I need one of those 'Steves' for my Imperial Trading Post. Can I have one? Don't be selfish... :pir-skull:
  8. Wouldn't have mattered much if you went to bed after ImperialScouts closed the day, now would it? You just didn't keep track of the time or you intentionally didn't vote (alright, alright, no gaming outside the game threads, you don't have to answer to that ).
  9. MetroiD is talking about his local LUG's forum, not EB. I know, he's a little off-topic here
  10. After hearing about the other Dutchies receiving their prizes today, I wasn't really surprised anymore to find a nice padded envelop in the mail tonight A big thanks to you, CopMike!
  11. A bit of an off-topic discussion in a review thread, don't you think? With the risk of joining that discussion, but hopefully to put an end to it ( ), check out the pictures on flickr below and you'll see that Manhattan fire stations indeed tend to have much higher floors - not just the ground floor, but also the second and third - compared to neighboring structures. As to the width: for a one-bay firehouse it indeed is a little wide, but not totally out-of-scale. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jag9889/2661408948/ ; http://www.flickr.com/photos/jag9889/2580293763/ ; http://www.flickr.com/photos/jag9889/2539462764/ ; http://www.flickr.com/photos/jag9889/2811776108/ ; http://www.flickr.com/photos/jag9889/2580817484/

    City 2010

That's a great piece of news. Thanks for sharing that K-D!
  13. Excuse me if I look foolish at the end of the day for not changing my vote in the light of any new evidence that some of you may bring so late this night, but the bullet wounds in my arm and leg, which I sustained at Willow's Creek, are really starting to hurt and I need to lay down now. Therefore I'm going to have to go with whatever 'evidence' is available now and Vote: Pvt. David Reutal.
  14. Fellow regiment members, the sun is starting to set on this third day in this camp here and there is one vote cast so far. Can anyone - except the ones involved, whom we've heard - give a good reason not to vote with Pvt. Yellman? I'm clueless on what position to take, but Yellman's scenario seems to yield important information irrespective of whether Pvt. Retaul is indeed the murderer. I'm really surprised by the long silence that has fallen after his latest statement. I especially expected Pvt. Dale and Provost Guard Dalese to be relieved and vote with Yellman...
  15. Agreed, you need a bit of color. The arched door looks great as a side entrance. Especially the way you placed it: recessed, i.e., turning in- not outward.
  16. Next to that, I'm also still wondering about what a coincidence it is that the Sergeant happened to investigate Pvt. Dan Gale on the first night, even though he only came under suspicion - if I recall correctly - on the second day. Why was he worth investigating on the first night? Stating you investigated Pvt. Gale on the first night seems like a convenient way of hiding what you really found out that night. And indeed, defending him probably wouldn't have mattered at the time you cast your vote Sergeant, but why did you wait until Pvt. Gale could no longer be saved?
  17. The color scheme is great, although I don't think it needs the stickers. The big pillar piece to construct the hook arm is an excellent choice.
  18. Thanks for the nice review TheBrickster. I bought Doc-Ock's hide out as the only set of the Spiderman series merely because it was on clearance and contained an excellent parts selection. Which kind of indicates how interested I was in the Spiderman line. I always found the subway car an interesting design from the looks of the catalog/box images. Now that I see it in more detail in your review, I must say I'm not too impressed by it. It's a bit blocky and simple. The color scheme is nice though and with a few touches, like opening doors and some more exterior and interior detailing, this would make a very good subway car. I still hope TLG makes something like this or a tram for the City theme sometime.
  19. Great statue. But I'm most impressed with all the sea vegetation. The coral - albeit a little small - is simple and effective. Nice work, Matn.
  20. Why are you so keen on voting for Pvt. W. Gale? And why are you suspecting him of siding with the supposed investigator who contacted you? Now this could equally well be interpreted as you trying to first make it seem like Private Gale is siding with the investigator that contacted you, secondly convincing the rest of us that the Sergeant can be trusted, and finally have a reason to vote of Pvt. W. Gale. And if Pvt. Gale indeed doesn't only sleep at night, you would have made sure that one of the sides in this would loose a valuable resource. Also, why would you pass off pieces of information you have to another soldier who you cannot be certain you can entrust him with unless you're a deserter and so is he or you have investigative powers yourself. I don't want to make you look too suspicious, because from another angle you also seem like one of the few that is truly trying to get to the bottom of this... Quite right. But it also seems like a foolish all-or-nothing move to come forward publicly as having investigative powers at night. Having investigative powers at night time is a valuable resource to either side.
  21. Happy birthday Alex54, LEGOscum, MantaMan, and ChefAgf (signed up just before your birthday to be congratulated by all of Eurobricks, very clever ).
  22. Instantly recognizable as a 'KK'. I don't have much to add to what has been said so far. The 'fortifications' are indeed a nice touch and the cars are worthy of being presented as a seperate MOC. The figs are great. And I like that you've even added a 'play feature' this time - the opening garage.
  23. I limit myself in terms of themes. I buy mostly Town (City, Modular, and Creator houses) and Pirates. The modular exclusives, I order straight from S@H on the day they release them. For example, I ordered my 10211 Grand Emporium last Thursday, only a few hours after becoming available to The Netherlands. With regular retail sets, I wait until I can get them for a good price somewhere (unlike the US, Lego never really goes on clearance here) or combine stuff for a bigger webshop order (they are typically 20-25% cheaper than retail here) to economize on shipping.
  24. You really managed to capture the shape of the original perfectly, Pallaeon. The printing on that tiny flag is excellent.

    MOC: Factory

I like the interior as it is already. In fact I've used a picture of the interior for the blog (but that also has to do with the size of your photography studio and the fact that it was hard to easily remove the full background as it is now).
