I've been looking back at yesterday and you didn't seem all that interested in switching your vote to Gerrid after the case against him had been laid out by Finn. You insisted on focusing on Dragmall. Then 'something is brought to your attention' and you unvote Dragmall. You rest for a while and while you're sleeping with the pigs, I start a vote against Bergulf. When you wake up you don't even respond to my suspicions and rush to vote for Gerrid instead. I wonder what happened in between you unvoting Dragmall and voting for Gerrid.

That wasn't what I was trying to do at all. I was just making that point that, good intentions or not, you revealing the play with the aliases eventually made Mursi reveal himself and led people to apparently guess the identity of Poseidon as well. Both of them turn up dead and you're quick to point out people should be more careful. I actually thought Petrus had tunnel vision on you from Day One on, but I must say his analysis of the situation matches up with mine more and more. I'm sorry if I came off as smug or sarcastic, but a couple of us here seem worried about your potential role in a series of events (which I laid out clearly when I last spoke). As Dragmall points out, you could very well be a loyal Einherjar who's being set up by the Servants of Loki, but it's all starting to add up for you. I have to agree with Dragmall that we'll learn most from knowing your affiliation and if an investigator can't credibly confirm you, then we may have to resort to less peaceful means. I told you before, I wasn't asking about your reason to reveal the play again (by the way, the odd thing about it was how you linked it to your case against Dragmall yesterday). What I was asking about is your part in the vote for Genaro yesterday. And I don't mean to sound smug, but it would be nice to hear how you arrived at your decision to vote for Genaro.
-
Hervi, it's not like your typical careful Einherjar you to keep talking about how to interpret last night's events, while only responding to the concerns I also raised earlier when you're accused directly by Dragmall. As I also said earlier, it seemed as if some knew they were voting off a Servant of Loki. I'd certainly like to hear more about how Hervi became so convinced of Genaro's scumminess all of a sudden, because the reasoning he provided yesterday wasn't much. Very interesting observations indeed. Nothing conclusive, but they certainly fit the meatshield story. So, you're saying you were the one leading the vote against Genaro in private? Is the 'why' sensitive information too? I'm afraid it's starting to add up: 1. Preventing Bergulf getting lynched on Day One. 2. The ridiculous play which was supposed to mask you were responsible for blocking Artemis (can you perhaps only tailor someone on even nights?) and had no relation whatsoever to your case against Dragmall. 3. The suspicious vote against Genaro, which suggests a meatshield strategy. 4. The vigilante, one of your closest allies, being blocked and killed last night. That's an awful lot for the Servants of Loki to pull off without you having a hand in it. Why did Dragmall have to know who Poseidon was? You're either a very sloppy Einherjar or you were looking for scapegoats. Did you mean conveniently dead?
-
Another Servant down is certainly good news, but we paid a great price as we lost Chief Mursi and Gofraid, who very likely was our vigilante. I agree that Gofraid seems to have been blocked. I also agree with the analysis of the Night One and Two kills. I don't think you have been very careful either, Hervi. As I said yesterday, I didn't see the point in presenting the play with the aliases. Eventually this lead Chief Mursi to claim vanilla and apparently it was obvious to some that Gofraid was Poseidon and had a night action. My thoughts exactly, almost as if some people knew they were lynching a Servant of Loki, perhaps sacrificing one of their own to build some credibility? I think we can all agree that we definitely are in desperate need for some sort of confirmation of Hervi's affiliation. I wonder what Artemis was up to last night. If he was indeed blocked by the Servants of Loki, they might have been afraid of one of their own getting killed that night. Did they fear Gofraid was onto something?

As I said, the rest of his statement seems pretty well-written this time. The mixup (him/me) might have occured because someone helped him prepare a statement, which he copied. Sorry. Yes, indeed, you contributed your thoughts about Artemis' role claim. I just don't think it's very likely the investigation would fail if one of his targets is blocked, but your guess is as good as mine. I still fail to see the point of essentially telling the scum an important role that might exist on the town side. I already explained it was hard for us to reach a conclusion on the matter without knowing the actual people involved and their experience in these situations. Did our reactions to revealing Artemis role claim help you in evaluating his claim at all? I don't doubt Artemis exists and we now have people saying they're Demeter and Aphrodite. I'm just wondering what all this trust is based on on Day Two. What made them claim to Hervi? I don't see how his actions on Day One establish him as a trustworthy Einherjar. I'm just afraid Hervi might be scum and controlling them.
-
I noticed that too, especially about these two statements by Bergulf. And now that you point it out, it does sound a lot like Hervi talking. There's something in the first one that specifically caught my attention: I highlighted it for you here. Surely that should be 'me', right? Honest mistake? The rest of his statement is surprisingly free of mistakes and his British accent from Day One seems to have disappeared entirely. This still has me worried too. Sure, there must be some truth to the story about Artemis and he most likely exists, but it just doesn't add up. As I said earlier, Artmis coming to Hervi on Day One suggests she's inexperienced, but him supposedly attracting a blocker on Night One actually suggests she's someone, if she's indeed town, the scum are afraid of. As I suggested earlier, that could very well be the reason Hervi felt the need to come forward before it was revealed he was one of the few who knew about Artemis' action. No one is asking you to reveal them. If you're Einherjar, you're going to be the one who has to make sense of the whole situation. And you should have realised we can't accurately assess the situation without the details you can't share. So, why come forward with the Artemis/Demeter story in the first place? Did you feel pressured to put it out there before you would be suspected for blocking Artemis? Did Dragmall's claim give you an excuse to write a play, so you could 'come forward' about Artemis too? I still fail to see the link between the Artemis/Demeter story and your accusations against Dragmall. I agree, the existence of Artemis' role makes it more likely there's a second scum faction (but we can't be sure of that at all at this stage, especially since Demeter doesn't turn out to be an investigator after all), but what does it tell us about the possibility of there being a neutral or a serial killer? I can try asking you a third time, but I doubt you'll have an answer now. I'm sure we all understand that. To me, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense if he's an investigator. Of course the result is going to be dependent on both of them actually being 'readable', which wouldn't be the case if they were out of town the hall, but it just doesn't seem logical that a block, which prevents someone from carrying out any action they may have, prevents an investigator from getting a reading on them. Right now, it sounds more like you're defending Hervi. Did Hervi feel the need to defend Bergulf so vigorously on Day One because he had an important action? Vote: Bergulf (badboytje88) Much like my wife and third-person boy, I'm curious to know what happened in private that made both Dragmall and Hervi drop their accusations.
-
My own wife, who'd have thought? In your scenario Hervi doesn't know Dragmall is lying and you said earlier that both of them know who's lying (which spurred my question):
-
I do, and I said as much earlier. If Demeter, or someone she's in contact with, targeted Artemis to find out she's Einherjar, it makes it more likely Artemis is an experienced player (if Artemis is town, I'm sure I'm not telling the scum anything new here). Again, your knowledge about Artemis' experience could help you in resolving this situation. I assume Hervi knows who was investigated. It's worrying that Artemis possibly was already blocked on Night 1, and it... actually implicates Hervi. Could this be the reason Hervi's coming forward with this elaborate story? Hervi, I wonder if anyone else was aware of Artemis' action. I agree with Gofraid here. What's the relevance of how Artemis' role works in Hervi's case against Dragmall? Whereas the existence of the role does make it more likely that there are multiple evil factions, it doesn't make it any more or less likely there is a neutral or serial killer. I still don't know what to make of all of this. I see no good reason for Artemis contacting Hervi on Day One, I fail to see the link between the investigator story and the case against Dragmall, but I also think that a neutral role claim (whether it was a joke or not) can't be left unverified. How can you be so sure of this?

See my post here.

Irrespective of the side Artemis is on, it's very odd to roleclaim to you, someone far from confirmed as Einherjar, on Day One. If she's (one of) our investigator(s), she should have verified you first and, indeed, I would have done that by targeting myself and you. My evaluation of the whole situation would depend on how experienced Artemis is in these kinds of situations and I'm pretty surprised you didn't consider that. If she's on our side, she might have been confused about her role and, rather foolishly, sought help from you. On the other hand, if Artemis is a Servant of Loki, or some other scum faction, first of all, again, I see no reason to come to you on Day One, but I think she'd only do so if he was afraid of being scrutinised that night, either because of her actions on Day One (before contacting you) or because of her experience. So, when exactly on Day One did she come to you? Yet you expect us to evaluate the situation? I understand you don't want to share certain information and I'm not fishing for details, but I hope you also see that, after our input, you essentially have to do the evaluation for us, because, as I explained, a lot depends on who it is, how experienced they are, and how and when they approached you. I don't think you can judge the balance of our situation at this stage. We know nothing about the numbers we're up against or even the number of evil factions we're up against. Why contact you on Day One only to try and remedy it on Day Two? If Artemis is scum, does she have any reason to suspect she was uncovered last night? If you had evidence against her, would you not lynch her anyway to find out her true affiliation and confirm the second investigator? How did the scum make sure Demeter would investigate Artemis then? Again, this would only make sense if Artemis was a likely target, either by her actions on Day One or her experience. ... and would implicate you. If there's a third faction out there, having both claimed investigators on our side would make some more sense, but it would also make it more likely that one of the scum factions has an investigator. So, I'm not sure we learn all that much about the credibility of the investigators. That's pretty much how a Cult works. They recruit from the Town and, in some situations, the Cult leader dies if they try to recruit from the Scum. It'd make sense for them to have an investigator like this, because there'd be some risk involved in relying on the investigation. According to Hervi it could work like an ordinary investigator on our side. So why have such a complicated role? The only use I can see for it (on our side) is to use it as a risky way to confirm Einherjar more quickly. If you pick two people who you think are Einherjar and you confirm they're on the same side, it's likely they're both innocent. This comes at the cost of not knowing which one is scum in case you can't confirm they're both on the same side though. If we indeed have those two investigators on our side and they found each other already, they could quickly form a powerful town block this way. Demeter could follow up on unconfirmed pairs Artemis finds. Doesn't a neutral always work independently from other factions? If Artemis isn't Einherjar, I'd be inclined to think there's more than one scum faction and he's on one of them. I too am reluctant to lynch one of the investigators at this stage. So, it looks like Hades is our best bet.

Hooray. One Servant down. Let's drink to that. Too bad it had to come at the loss of three of us, not that the nutchoker was going to be very helpful. I agree. We either have a lucky or smart vigilante, or a serial killer looking for a target not likely to be protected. Although, even though I don't remember yesterday all that well (bloody mead), I think there were probably people who stood out even less. So, I'm hoping we have a smart killer on our side. Steinvoir, even though he never covered his heart, is a very unlikely target for the serial killer, but a risky target for the Servants of Loki as well. Still, I can't see any real alternative to him being killed by the scum. Steinvoir's killer dressed the same way as the killers who killed quite a few of us last night and Odin believed those murders to be the work of Loki. You're not making an awful lot of sense there. So, if Danr were a Servant of Loki, you would have been more suspicious of Hervi? Care to elaborate? I didn't expected a Servant to 'agree' with someone so explicitly at all, because once they die, by your logic, it essentially "clears" that person, which would only help us find the remaining scum. However, I realise we're quickly going to reason in circles here. More wine?

Maybe it's not a coincidence that printed letter tiles are back. I can imagine those being used to construct the sign above the entrance.

Great work on fixing the db, Boney! Check your PM. Sent via PM. Indeed, it didn't have a lot of text, so it wouldn't have been a lot of trouble to recreate. Sent anyway.
