  1. Wrrrooof! Or it could be a sign that some Cultists are getting a bandwagon going. I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. You sound like you already know Carly is a Cultist. Villagers (plural)? Again, do you know something we don't? Allan Albatross? Uhm... yeah, I was there, playing dead. Do you have mad cow disease or is there something more you want to tell us? Wrrrooof!
  2. Wrrrooof! I simply asked what the difference was between 'pro-town' (as you called it yesterday) and 'most consistent town read' and 'screamed town' (again, all your words). But clearly you mean something different by 'pro-town'. Talk about twisting someone's words. Still, what really stands out is this... ... together with a point you conveniently ignored in my earlier reply to you. Namely, you pointing out Wallace, him specifically, as a 'lurker' yesterday, stressing today that you did so before Portia even voted for him - maybe because "a Cultist would never point the finger at one of their own" - while at the same time trying to get Portia to change her vote yesterday. The lead on Carly is the best thing we have right now, so I will Vote: Carly Cow (Tamamono) Wrrrooof! Did you actually bother to look back at yesterday's and today's transcripts? I was the one to point out that Casey seemed to be subtly defending Petey. I also outlined exactly how we'd learn more from lynching Petey than from lynching Casey (even if he turned out to be a Villager, which he did) and have explained that again today. But, with those crazy frogs around, I don't think we can ever be sure about someone's alignment and I do hope one or more of the people involved in the debate yesterday got investigated last night or will be tonight. Now can you please go BAWK! at the ones who really aren't contributing? Wrrrooof! Where do you want it?
  3. Indeed, you did: But why specifically Wallace (assuming you were referring to him by 'the seal')? You seem to be making an issue of pointing out a, now confirmed, Cultist as a lurker yesterday. Mind defining what 'pro-town' means in your book then? You said this when voting was well underway:
  4. Wrrrooof! Yes, but, I'll ask you again: What would we have learned from lynching Pennie if she had turned out to be a Villager? It seems like you were ready to change your mind about her towards the end of yesterday. It wasn't enough to make you change your vote though, so I wonder why she isn't on your 'suspect list' anymore today, especially now that we know Petey was a Villager. You're talking and trying to get a discussion going, unlike a lot of other animals. A lot of those voting for Pennie yesterday sounded like they were voting for her because they could easily justify the lynch if she turned up Village today. Now that Petey got lynched and is revealed to be a Villager, they can 'blame' the ones voting for him. So, for a Cultist, aware of Petey's innocence, a vote for Pennie could be seen as a relatively 'safe' vote. But I must say that especially the non-voters and the animals who did vote but hardly contribute(d) to the discussion have me worried. Wrrrooof! Nothing definitive, that's for sure, but I still think Petey was a better lynch than Pennie or Casey, for reasons that are hopefully clear by now. Aren't you still suspicious of Pennie for leading the lynch on a, now confirmed, Villager? It was enough for you to vote for him yesterday after all. I hope you remember that I spent most of yesterday arguing why your wife, Casey, appeared most suspicious to me. As the sun was nearly setting, I came to the conclusion that we might learn more from lynching Petey, because we'd get some more information on the likely allegiance of Casey and Pennie and, in my opinion, there was even something to be learned from the lynch if Petey turned out to be a Villager. Why, at that point, would I switch to Petey when I could have just hopped on the Casey bandwagon? I didn't vote at that point because I wanted to hear from the others if there were holes in my reasoning and I didn't want to further split the vote further (Petey only had one vote against him at that point) before making my final decision. Nothing that was said before the sun went under, very soon after, made me change my mind and the reasons Cameron gave for voting for Petey convinced me even more that he was the best lynch candidate. So, I did back up my reasoning with a vote when there was only one vote (Cameron's) cast in the meantime, not drastically changing the situation and certainly not creating a bandwagon. When I voted, it looked like Casey was going to get lynched. So, instead of relying on Petey's words, I'd look back at the transcripts and see what actually went on yesterday evening.
  5. Wrrrooof! Tonight Bookie, if you actually manage to stay awake, unlike last night. At least I got some... uhm... extra business, thanks to the nice people in Gibson's pub. I explained yesterday what we could learn from it: So, as I also said earlier today, it makes it more likely that both Casey and Pennie are Villagers too. Of course we can't be sure of anything and with those crazy frogs around, I don't think we'll ever be sure. What would we have learned had we lynched Pennie, which is what you wanted, and she had come up Village? Would you have concluded Petey was a Cultist? At least you come up with a good reason why the Cultists would want to kill Bristol, namely that we learn very little from her death. Wrrrooof! Indeed, people strongly opposed to Petey's lynch, as if they knew he was an innocent Villager, should be scrutinised today.
  6. Wrrrooof! If Casey were a Cultist, I don't see a good reason for defending a Villager yesterday. Petey was becoming the prime candidate for a lynch at the point she started to subtly defend him. All the Cultist needed to do, and probably have done, is sit back at that point. She might have done it to appear Village, but the attention that she drew by doing so illustrates how risky that strategy is for them. Pennie insisted on leading the lynch against Petey, something a Cultist would also like to avoid. So, as I already indicated yesterday, Petey showing up Village actually increases the chance that the both of them are also Villagers. Now that doesn't clear them of course and it would make them prime candidates for conversion. Wrrrooof! As to last night's events. I don't have a lot to add to what's already been said. Bristol seems like an odd choice for a Cultist kill and the lack of sacrificial rituals may suggest something else is going on. The killings of Gabby and Benji yesterday night both involved rituals and poor Benji was even burned alive. Regarding the fish trap, God seems to like landmines, traps, and stuff like that, so it may be something like that... ... or indeed like this. Anyway, whether it was divine intervention or someone deliberately targeting the walrus, we got rid of our first Cultist. As Portia already indicated, there's still the possibility of delayed kills, which our God also seems to fancy. Not sure if God is just stupid messing with us, but Gabby already went missing before yesterday night, yet her remains were only found yesterday morning. Maybe the Cultists or a Serial Killer abduct someone and kill them the following night... In any case, people with protective abilities or a blocker may hold vital information, especially once we get a better picture of what transpired last night.
  7. Thanks. I need something strong after such a long day. Oh, uhm... sure! Sorry, I got a little distracted looking at your looong... goatee. Did you know I'm an expert at trimming too? I think you need to talk to the mad cow about that. Although it may not exactly be cold.
  8. One of those long, stiff... drinks for me too please. Who said they were free? Or do you hand out your... whatever it is you're hammering on all day... for free as well? I'm all up for trading though... anyone up for some hot waxing?
  9. Oh my... Bookie... look at what some good hot wax can reveal. Nice work on the statue guys and gals. It looks a little sad though. Ooooh, but it talks... gibberish.
  10. Clumsy Cultists perhaps? As outlined earlier, I too think we can learn the most from lynching Petey, and because the sun is slowly setting in this part of Winter Haven, I will also: Vote: Petey Panda (darkdragon) Bookie baby, don't forget to vote or there will be no hot wax for you tonight.
  11. Note that, in my view, we will also learn something if Petey is a Villager, namely that it's likely that Casey is also a Villager. Petey was panicking quite a bit and, considering there's only one vote against him, I can imagine he's staying calm for now... It's not about contacting anyone. Casey clearly tried to divert attention from the argument that was developing even before she was contacted privately. And who says Casey was in fact contacted privately (or you for that matter)? Petey could have just contacted others to make Casey's claim that she was contacted more credible (well, it didn't make it more credible, but, if they're Cultists, perhaps they tried it that way). Gordon is basically saying he's agreeing with you, and me for that matter, that it's unlikely that a Cultist would draw so much attention to themselves on the first day. He is a bit more determined though. If Casey is a Cultist, she had no reason to divert attention away from Petey, unless he's a Cultist too (... unless... Casey's trying really hard to appear Village).
  12. Great review of what appears to be a great set. The colour scheme is definitely an improvement over the previous version and TLG has finally realised that it's simply 'not done' to sell models with STAMPs to AFOLs. Let's hope the quality of the stickers has improved too, because I've heard complaints about brittle stickers and stickers peeling off in 3451. The working flaps are a great feature of the set, but it's really unfortunate that they don't seem to work properly 'out of the box'. I'm glad you could get it fixed, and perhaps it's just your 'American version' of the set that has the problem, but I wonder if other AFOLs have experienced similar issues and if TLG is aware of the problem. The white 1 x 1 x 3 bricks with clips are probably just more cost-effective than three 1 x 1 bricks.
  13. ... and, unfortunately for you, your reaction stands out. Why did you want this 'stupid' debate to be over? All of your reactions seemed to suggest we move on and find someone else to focus on. How could Petey possible convince you to 'help' him? Everyone here, unfortunately, can only fend for themselves, especially on day 1, when the only thing we can be sure of is that we can't trust anyone. ... as you seem to have realised. You can't take back your actions though. What did you think there was to gain by contacting them privately? Were you trying to prevent them from voting for you or just asking for advice? If it's the former, how on earth would you get them to 'trust' you (on day 1) without making a claim about your role in this whole ordeal? If it's the latter, what kind of advice would you expect ? Subtle push? Casey herself seems to think she was defending Petey. And where's your reaction to the events? You're happy with Bristol's contribution? Please tell me you're just doing this to get everybody to speak up. You have a long list to go through though. There are a lot of animals that haven't really spoken up yet. Some seem to contribute, but don't offer much of an opinion, whereas others only pop in a couple of times a day to say they haven't made up their minds yet. But I agree with the mad cow that we will learn most from lynching one of the animals involved in the 'Petey situation' because quite a few animals have commented on that so far. So, with the sun almost setting in the eastern part of the village (it's huuuge compared to Spring Haven ), I think that's what we should be focusing on. Personally I consider Casey Cat's behaviour to be most suspicious, because - as I indicated earlier - she clearly seemed to want to steer attention away from Petey. But I also don't understand Petey's overly defensive reaction and contacting people privately before a single vote had been cast. Pennie is acting weird, although not much weirder than back in Spring Haven, but I honestly can't see a member of the Cultists draw attention to themselves by insisting on 'leading the lynch' when it's likely there are Villagers with investigative abilities at night. If we decide to lynch either Casey or Petey and they turn out to be a Cultist, it becomes more likely the other is a Cultist too (especially in the case of Casey). If Casey turns out to be a Villager, that won't tell us much about Petey's allegiance though. However, when Petey turns out to be a Villager, that makes it likely Casey is a Villager too, because a Cultist would be happy with all the attention on a Villager like Petey (unless Casey's trying really hard to appear 'Village' of course). So, ironically, while I think Casey has been acting scummier than Petey, and wouldn't mind seeing her lynched, I think we'll learn slightly more from lynching Petey.
  14. It's a nice little Paradisa set, but as you say, it really doesn't have all that much going for it. I even passed up on the yellowed box I encountered in a store quite a few years ago. The main model is not highly original. Quite a few boats from the Classic Town era look very similar, although they tend to be more interesting parts-wise and include a windscreen or a more detailed outboard motor. Seeing MISB old sets always brings back memories though and I'm amazed at how they manage to make the alternative models, even if built with only a handful of pieces, look interesting.
  15. Cuuuuuuuuute panda. I wholeheartedly agree with your review of this polybag. It's pretty amazing how the designers managed to make this both very playable (with all the different articulation points) and look so much like a real panda on a relatively small scale. And it's a nice parts pack with all the curved slopes, tiles, cheese slopes, and other small pieces. Enjoy your bamboo.
  16. Then maybe you could start paying attention now. We need all the help we can get in catching those Cultists. That's what I thought you meant and I agree with your husband. To me it's not completely obvious we're up against a cult of Cultists, although there seem to be more frogs around here than usual for this time of year. And, as Gibson first pointed out, we might be facing more than one evil. Enjoy... him. I don't really see how that's an 'accusation'.
  17. Oh, don't be jealous Bookie, he's... a paying customer. And look at those shiny scales. Next to Petey's overly nervous reaction, I noted that too. Casey, after going over some of the things you said in response to the discussion between Petey and Gordon, it almost seems like you're trying to divert attention from the argument and perhaps even from Petey. Now there is one other thing I'd like cleared up. Gilda, you may have overlooked Gordon's question, but do you mind sharing with us why you think Marcellus gave us a vital clue by referring to them as Cultists?
  18. It's a firefighting badge and I'm pretty sure poor Gabby Goat also had one. Uhm... thank you Mr. Gorilla. I have a little uhm... waxing appointment tonight with my Bookie though.
  19. Hincky Shrinky Because I shrank Hinck even more. Parts of him at least. Well, not parts. Pictures of his parts. Studs with parts. No wait, parts with studs. Right, I shrank pictures of Hinck's studded parts.
  20. So far for the peaceful and quiet life in Winterhaven. Just when I thought we defeated the evil forces of the Demon Legion, there are Cultists among us who burn us at night... alive. And now Marcellus tells us we have to sacrifice more people cross-breeders adowable villagers (preferably not Villagers though). Marcellus hasn't led us astray last time, but I'm not sure if we can trust that fox. Who knows what he's brewing in his apothecary... and for whom? Bookie! Get your big behind out of that garbage can and hold me. Why aren't you holding meeee?
