  1. There's a topic about this already in Train Tech.
  2. I think we all agree she wouldn't have been very helpful. But knowing whether she was telling the truth about her role, especially when she turns out to be a mutineer, can be valuable later on. If she's a mutineer, it means that she doesn't need to have the "role cop" ability herself, because she would know about the results her scum mates would get and could "verify" herself that way. It may well be that the mutineers picked one of the abilities they actually have and use that as a claim in case one of them would be heavily accused. So, if she turns out to be a mutineer tomorrow morning, we know we may still be up against a scum role cop. And if she turns up town and we would have somehow been more confident that she actually was our "role cop", it's unlikely that there is another one among us. So, no townie could claim that role anymore. It's not a lot of information that was to be learned and it remains to be seen whether it would have been useful to know later on, but in situations like these, isn't all information valuable?
  3. After Yasu claimed "role cop" to him, Norio was (supposedly, assuming he's telling the truth, but at least his story in public is consistent with what he told me in private earlier) in a position where he could try to get a better idea of whether Yasu was telling the truth. Yasu's first response was one which shows that she potentially didn't understand what a (standard) "role cop" is. So, pushing Yasu a bit more privately actually sounds like a good idea. Of course, this would not have been very effective if Norio had talked about this publicly. Too bad Yasu has apparently already accepted her fate.
  4. The problem with players discussing other players' role-playing here (in the discussion thread), is that it impossible to see it separately from the day threads (illustrated clearly by TheBoyWonder's post in this thread before the game even started). Role-playing more or less could be part of people's game play. Likewise, "attacking" players on role-playing too much/too little in the day threads could be part of people's game play as well. (All this is of course no excuse to not stay "in character" in the day threads.) Therefore, commenting here on people's behaviour in the day threads, especially by players, is effectively playing the game outside the day thread.
  5. However tempting it may be, I don't think players in the game should be discussing the game or player's behaviour, including the extent to which role-playing is appropriate, outside the day threads at all.
  6. Badboytje, you certainly draw people to your games that like to play the game outside the day threads.
  7. I'm not convinced at all that Yasu is scum, but I agree, role cop is not the easiest, most straightforward claim to make, so we cannot ignore that she might actually be a role cop on the mutineers' side (or that the mutineers have a role cop on their side). Also, as many have already indicated, if she indeed is a townie, she has clearly demonstrated that she's not going to be of much use throughout this ordeal, so it won't be a huge loss in any case. Vote: Yasu (TheBoyWonder) It will give us at least some information, as almost everyone has given their opinion on her. Thanks for being so helpful yet again.
  8. Happy Birthday Fangy. Make sure you get lots of new LEGO.
  9. Role cop certainly isn't the most convenient claim for a scum to make, unless as my dear mother already pointed out, she's a scum role cop, which could well be the case. I don't think it's that easy a claim at all. Snake charmer would be much more convenient. She's not helpful at all. She's not even helping herself survive. But if she really were scum, I would expect some more sense to come out of her by now. There should be someone on the mutineers' side who's able to help her. Or, the scum already decided to sacrifice her, which, given the current situation, I would completely understand. If that's the case, we should be looking at people initially defending her. Maybe there is something to be learned from lynching her after all. I don't really see how her response changes your earlier assessment of her. It's just more nonsense. What were you expecting?
  10. Indeed, people seem to be assuming it's a town role (claim), but - especially with so many family members - it could be very useful to the mutineers as well. Itchiroo, who always seems to know how certain night abilities can best be used, also seems to ignore the possibility of investigating Yasu tonight.
  11. What are you actually expecting as a defence? What could she say that would convince you she's not scum? What is worrying is that she keeps trying to save her own skin and is doing absolutely nothing to help here. But then, I'm also afraid we're all jumping on the most obvious target. I agree. And again... You don't really think someone is scum, yet you're willing to lynch that person? Or isn't that what you're suggesting?
  12. Oh my... I was getting bored waiting for the sun to rise, so I decided to do some studying, and look at everything that's been said already. Sorry for being a little late to discuss our situation. I'm not a fan of that either. Voicing suspicion is something different than being able to back it up with a vote. And it will be much harder to correct any wrong decisions. It will only help the mutineers. You're not forced to vote off your Kin. Why would you want to vote off your only son? Clearly Yasu has drawn unneeded attention to herself, but I always get a little suspicious of people who seem to defend other people on day 1. There are many hours in a day and people have other things to do, like studying or being 'gone' in your case. No one will suspect you solely because of that. Having said that, you have drawn attention to yourself by your action right before the sun rose. I agree, we should just keep all options open at this stage and not 'assume' too much, especially in such a large family.
  13. We are, don't worry. If you have something to add to a topic and no one has posted after you, please use the edit button to add to your last post instead of making a new reply.
  14. I don't have much to add to the comments in this thread already. Brilliant piece of work. I especially like all the interior detailing. From Cuusoo, as I understand it, TLG just takes your idea. So, the idea here would be a courthouse. If they would produce a courthouse, they'd undoubtedly scale it down to regular modular proportions (of about 2,500 pieces). The Town Hall looked like the ideal building to put on 1.5 or 2 (32x32) baseplates, but they still decided to stick to 32-wide. And they surely might take a few ideas from the interior, but not everything can be realised in a smaller set. Many aspects of the courthouse would be pretty close to the about to be released Town Hall, so I see more chances for your modular cinema. But then again, Hinckley also put his modular cinema on Cuusoo. If the AFOL community wants to successfully use Cuusoo, I think much more coordination is needed. And to be honest, we might be more effective through our LEGO ambassadors.
  15. *throws confetti* Congratulations!
  16. Kin is ready to help restore the honour of the Yakuza family.
  17. In the early 2000s TLG 'scaled up' City: vans and trucks became 6-wide (instead of 4-wide) vehicles. And those vehicles, and I think most people would agree, just keep getting better and better. But they simply cannot 'afford' to make the structures bigger as well. So they end up being relatively 'empty' (like the car park or the vehicle bays in most police and fire stations) or just small. But for realistic buildings, AFOLs can always turn to CREATOR houses and the Modular Buildings. Yes, those come at a significantly higher price, but you just can't have it all.
  18. You're not the first.
  19. Good girl! *ruffles Pandora's hair*
  20. You trying to increase your profile views?
  21. Sign me up please. 1. See my 'About me' page. 2. Yup, I should be available. 3. Sorry, no special knowledge about Japan, but I think it's a nice setting for a mafia game.
  22. Thanks for the news. Blogged on Classic-Town.net.
  23. Except that this thread was posted first, so maybe look around a bit before starting a new thread the next time. And if you have an issue with your thread being locked, you should have PM'ed Phred (who locked it).
  24. Discussion about the possible 'Haunted House' set here please.
  25. Thanks grogall. First post updated and blogged on Classic-Town.net. Check out the official press release and continue the discussion there.
