Galen rushes into the Hall and walks straight to a formidable orc, armour gleaming even in the dimly lit Hall. "Cronk, I have been looking for you! We have unfinished business, you and I! Haven't you forgotten something?" Galen pulled a blood-stained blade from beneath his cloak. "Um, sorry, I should have had it polished first..." The rogue fumbles with his cloak, trying to wipe the sword clean to no avail. "Anyway, here it is! The Sword of Bashing returns to his rightful owner! You saved my life many times in Dastan Cronk, and your sword saved me just as often. I thank you for all that you have done. Galen bows with a smile. "But now I have been gifted with enough money to buy weapons of my own, and replenish my consumables. Dastan was cruel to us in many ways, but we didn't come back empty handed. I bet the merchants of Eubric have already filled their pockets with Dastanian gold!"

I want to thank you JimB (and of course Zepher and Brickdoctor) for a thoroughly enjoyable quest -- I had a great time following the turns and twists of your plot, there never was a dull moment! I'm a little sad that it's over, and I look forward to more quests with you guys, both QMs and players. I roleplayed being of two minds about the sword, because at that point in the quest Galen was quite ready to give it all up and return home -- or to his personal business anyway. He was pretty depressed, he had abandoned his personal quest in order to find riches and glory in Dastan but that was not happening, so the sword posed a new dilemma -- would he use it to help Dastan, or would he turn it away and leave the Empire. Sarick's decision to keep the sword of course derailed the internal conflict -- and at that point I seriously considered leaving the quest, as it was the only proper in-character reaction! But of course, I would have missed all the fun and it wouldn't have been a nice thing to do to JimB. So I let it slide, and abandoned the characterisation for a while.

Galen looked at Sarick uneasily. "I'm sorry Sarick, but you were speaking strange words. It wasn't you anymore. I'm not sure what happened back there but I didn't see you wielding a sword, I saw a sword wielding you." He then turned to Nikolai. "Thank you for your generosity, I'm surprised that you could even afford to pay us after what your country has gone through. Good luck rebuilding your Empire, and may you enjoy peace for the foreseeable future."
-
Appalled by what appeared to him like a sword taking control over Sarick's actions, Galen attempts to stop him by throwing his bedroll at Sarick.

Galen listened and listened while both sides exchanged views. Finally he stepped forward and spoke. "I will be brief, as I agree with my friends who have just spoken. Emperor, your ambitions are noble but your means are ill-chosen. You attempted to obtain justice for all by violence and cunning, plotting and treason. While you may think that it was a fair price to pay in order to achieve a greater good, I believe that it discredits both yourself as a leader and the nobility of your ideas. If you can't be fair in your pursuit of justice, if your can't show understanding in your fight against xenophobia, then you don't have the right to preach and lead. Step aside and let those who are strong enough not to use violence to find solutions to the inequalities in your Empire. Go away and let your people tend to their wounds. The Empire, despite its imperfections, is better off without you." I vote to exile Emperor Rolando.

Galen, dazed and confused, barely had time to collect his thoughts before he was whisked away to Emperor Emeraldo. He hadn't thanked Nerwen who brought him back to consciousness at the end of the battle. He hadn't thanked Skrall who handed him a generous share of the loot despite Galen falling after a few rounds of combat. He didn't even think of asking if Nyx was fine, or if any Hero had died. Everything around him had been a flurry of activity, and Galen was still too groggy to drink it all in. Now he tried to focus on the Emperor. His last encounter with the man seemed to have been so long ago, in another life. Galen tried to remember the reasons why this Emperor would betray the two others, but somehow he couldn't piece it all together anymore. He decided that this could wait until he had food in his stomach and a mattress to lie on. All that mattered to him now was to leave this palace in the safe hands of those who could capably lead this Empire, and make it back to Eubric in one piece. One day he might even tell his grandchildren about having fought in the great Battle of Dastan... provided that they didn't ask for too many details! Galen looked wearily at Emperor Emeraldo and waited for someone to speak.

Thank you for your superb review, Pandora! This is a set that definitely didn't appeal that much to me a priori, compared to the previous wave's flagship set (Olivia's House). Now having read your review, I wouldn't mind owning this set for the part selection and the playability, although I still think it lacks the wow factor (or the novelty factor?) of Olivia's House. Still, I applaud the clever modular design and the attention to details that seems to be a staple of the Friends line. A few comments off the top of my head: I am a bit disappointed at the minidoll selection that I think could have been more 'exclusive' given the price and size of the set. Hopefully future waves will spoil us with new minidoll moulds/prints and more male figures. The gate design is interesting in that it marks the first time (that I'm aware of) since the disappearance of the good old baseplates that LEGO designers have attempted to simulate a road stretch using normal-thickness plates and tiles. Maybe this is something we'll see again in the future, and I would certainly be happy if a replacement solution for the road baseplates could be developed using regular plates and tiles.

If you're planning your builds in LEGO Digital Designer you can use LDD Manager, a wonderful tool that can easily generate part lists. If you're starting from scratch I think that you can create part lists on Rebrickable.com, though I have never used it myself. Basebrick, Peeron, Rebrickable and a number of other web-based tools out there can help you manage your collection at the part level.

I'd love to! But you would have to do all the hard work, seeing that you're much stronger than Rufindel and myself.

What do you do with your sets/MOC once you've built them?

I merged this topic with a very similar one created not that long ago. -
Please tone down your rage. It's one thing to post harsh comments about a brand of bricks, it's a completely different thing to be rude to our members regardless of their opinions. Your behaviour is inappropriate.

I have a much more basic problem when using LDD to POV-Ray. Whenever I try to run a conversion, I get this error message: I use the 32-bit versions of both the Converter and POV-Ray with Vista. I have added the required line in the povray.ini file. Any ideas?
