KimT Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 (edited) So with the present uprising and wave of non-LEGO reviews around here I suggest we keep a small index in here. Post links to your reviews here and I'll update this first post to contain them all for future reference. Peppermint_M Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Sorry, I do review a few clones, I just like to compare things (I have refrained from posting my little town made of clone brands, although it is only a fire station at the moment) I also have to warn that I will be adding some more near Christmas when the clone brands pop up more often. KimT Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 I actually made this index to improve on the way we look upon the clone brands. Some of them actually have quite useful parts. My Wolverine fig wouldn't be the same without the claw-hands from the megablocks Wolverine So do by all means post your clone brand reviews and let's discuss the copy-cats in a mature and reasonable way. KimT Posted October 24, 2009 Author Posted October 24, 2009 Updated the first post. Yes this is a bumb, but given the recent discussion on bootlegs and clone brands, I thought his might prove useful for some. Quote
Milan Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Excellent idea to make a thread for non-Lego review. I did not know that some clone brands can be so nice! Quote
webeaulieu Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Glossary:Bootleg: Bootleg: A clear rip-off that copies existing LEGO sets and parts. Clone Brand: A product that resembles LEGO bricks or uses the same building brick technicques. Copy-Cats: Copy-Cats: Same as bootleg. What about brands like Tente, Loc Blocs, and Brix Blox? Are they still considered clones even though they are not compatible with Lego, or is there another term to describe them( Lego-like, but not compatible)? Quote
The Cobra Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 There should be a topic in the main forum: "How do clone brands get away..." or something like that. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Sluban Riot Police Command Car review. The first of a few more reviews I should be posting in the next few days or so. Quote

Peppermint_M Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 MY Police Speedboat There are three more clones to go and I might find some more in the next few weeks. So here is the latest Quote
Peppermint_M Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I took the liberty of updating the index with the handful of new reviews and the extra discussion. Hope you don't mind. Quote
KimT Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 I took the liberty of updating the index with the handful of new reviews and the extra discussion. Hope you don't mind. Why of course not. You are the "Queen" and you are more than welcome to do this index, as I really haven't got the time or care enough for clone brands. Good job Mylady Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Hah, guess I will keep working on it then , it seems to be my domain now. Quote
KimT Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 Hah, guess I will keep working on it then , it seems to be my domain now. Indeed. This Index is all yours. Now let's see what I can find to accompany such a task Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Should I be concerned by the " "? Now to work at my new task! Quote
KimT Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 Wow, you sure are putting some work into this Index Peppermint Quote
Jon Byrne Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I do have to say your reviews are some of my favourite on the site and have had me scouring ebay for some of the more unusual clones. Whilst there are obvious issues with some of the clones in regards to quality, some of the designs and themes are pretty cool. Keep up the good work. Quote

crossmr Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I reviewed the OCM15000 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=43828 Quote
Peppermint_M Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Added to the index! Now that there is more than one Oxford set, I can make it a seperate heading. willy_poodle, yes there are many mixed media MOCs (as I prefer to call them) I have some myself. Posting them on EB would possibly cause riots... Check flickr for them and you are sure to find some. Quote

Peppermint_M Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 I think the name error was the simple post editor the board uses. I used the full editor this time, hopefully to great effect! Again, thanks for all the reviews of really hard to find elsewhere sets. You're the Korean Correspondent! Quote
