  1. For the record the old lego castle sets used to have stickers everywhere : torsos, shields and flags ! Just look at the yellow castle (which is the ultimate reference for a lot of people, I'll never get that).
  2. I dunno, but there are similar threads around that are refering to the average amount per year. I think it's easier to answer !
  3. The clipper was my first pirate boat, but I thinkn I just like the flagship better in term of design. One of the major advantage of the clipper would be that it better suit for MOCs (bigger, better)
  4. Why not using your own parts ? :-)
  5. one little point : no track = straight line ;-)
  6. Nice review ! Too bad I have to buy the viking first ! But definitly a cool set, especially with 10 minifigs !!!
  7. I think the major complain is somewhere else. As far as I can remember, when they decided to go on IR and plastic tracks, they (TLC) spent a lot of time explaining to us that this was also made to reduce the costs of production, and therefore the price of the sets so they are more affordable for people. The real question then is : are they ? The answer is : no :-| But I think nobody really hoped they would lower their prices
  8. I do hope they lower the price (A LOT !)
  9. just remember "kids want vehicules". And that's it. Sorry, I just can't stop laughing at this brand dumb thing that is stuck into their minds. So you might get a lego family set, but only the car, maybe a mobilehome (for netherlands only :-P ) but nothing more. And parents have never been hunting colorfull masks around toa nui, so it wouldn't sale well !
  10. Playmobil do they sell well. I recall an article about toys company that were still sucessfull with their original products. Playmobil was shown as an example. Their CEO just said they kept the original spirit, only adding new details, but all in all it was almost the same sets. LEGO was on the contrary shown as the bad student, with some waste efforts to go on the video games industry. But that was 2 years ago, before the major improvments that we have seen lately !
  11. Congrats ! Do you have a picture of your creation ? it would be interesting if you could take some shots of the event and make some comment. That'd surely hit the frontpage lol
  12. Ah yes, if only they could go back to their own space universe ! That would be neat !
  13. you are missleading, that's miami vice !
  14. in fact you don't know it yet but they are making a lot of cop cars cause they bought the gta licence *sing*
  15. On a side note I'll only be able to apply a tag to the fellows who filled the country area with an explicit country in their profile ;-)
  16. Sorry to sound rude, but you are surely not knowing everything on this matter. Cousteau in not known only by french people from France. He is known in the divers community. Like other people are known for their belonging to a community. It's not a question of country, it's a question of specialty. And we never said he was a god. And that's not a french misplaced pride of some sort as I'm only french because I was born in France, my origins being various. Now I'd like this topic to go back on it's orginal subject otherwise I might have to close it (which would be bad for everyone)
  17. Just joined, that makes 2 !
  18. Nice idea ! I kept all my stickers so far, I might try this soon !
  19. Interesting ! Some major pieces are mssing in ldd though, which will make it harder ! I'm not into classic space that much (beside my precious futuron monorail) so I'd go more into remaking Mtron and Iceplanet.
  20. it's a country ! tsss :-P
  21. Natelite, I think you're just not into the sailing / diving thing, this explains your lack of knowledge concerning this man.
  22. well this is why I say the rules right now. So surprises :-P
  23. I think cousteai is still pretty famous and not only in France. He did a lot for modern diving !
  24. Trying to make everything at once is rarely sucessfull. I think it's definitly better to improve things step by step. It requiers less efforts and you are always on top ;-)
  25. A database is a database, no matter what. It's just lines and columns filled with text or links. I don't see the problem in making it accessible as an archive. But anyway, no problem as our final goal is to surpass lugnet in every manner :-P
