I haven't looked at the war hammer one- what race or ship name should I look at for more inspiration? There was a few different pieces I looked at to comprise the engines, but the configuration was basically always as it is now. What I really want to change if I ever revisit this build, is the amount of blue on the fuselage.

Following the success of the Blue Jacket, OrionBlu engaged Cerberus Systems to build a more substantial craft that could stand on its own rather than in larger squadrons. The result of the project was the LL428 Monarch. The Monarch's unique engine structure made the craft the most manueverable fighter ever built. In addition, the unique pilot runabout allows a pilot to enter and exit the craft without use of a ladder and explore rough terrain quickly on the anti-grav runabout.

That's where I left that! Cute vig. Way to get some history parts in a MOC!
-
While the Blue Jacket and Monarch proved effective as primary air to air and air to ground fighters, their relative expense generated interest in an escort level fighter to protect heavier and less maneuverable assets like the FireMoth, P.O.D ships and mining transports. The LL 214 Wasp was the first Cerberus Systems designed which used mag-repulsors as the VTOL lift engine. The lack of directional RVTOL engines made the Wasp more compact and less expensive to manufacture than a Blue Jacket, but also reduced their ability to maneuver in higher gravity or atmospheric applications as compared to Monarchs and Blue Jackets.

[MOC] "Blue Bull" Space Tank at the maintenance hangar
ZCerberus replied to Norton74's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I love it. I think I would have gone with a bit more gray, but it is so charming and the trans yellow is super well placed. Genius!- 26 replies

After many years of peaceful exploration, by the end of the 24th century OrionBlu’s need for defense craft became more and more evident as the insidious Blacktron Corporation used its muscle to drive OrionBlu out of its most lucrative mining and research operations. Very hesitant to invest in what it believed to be military grade craft, OrionBlu’s CEO Bennett Carville hired defense contractors, including the now infamous Forge Group, to protect their interests in the most vital remaining ventures. The defense contractor move was a major disaster for OrionBlu as many of the defense contractors’ ships were overmatched by newer, sleeker Blacktron interceptors leading to abandonment upon the mere sight of a Blacktron raiding party. While a full squadron of Blue Jackets could take down an assault cruiser, OrionBlu recognized the need to deliver faster results to protect mining project and transports. In order to hold the fire power necessary to down an assault cruiser, OrionBlu knew it needed a sturdy ship with excellent in-flight stability. OrionBlu also knew it wanted to keep the RVTOL structure that proved so effective with its fighters. Cerberus engineers found the solution by moving the RVTOL engines inside a broad wing structure. The ship known as the LL 612 FireMoth proved a capable weapons platform with excellent firepower and speed, but less maneuverability than smaller RVTOL fighters like the Blue Jacket, Wasp or Monarch. --This was one of 5 Neo-Classic Space fighters that escorted me to Brickworld. More photos will be posted later- so there may be an update in the coming days. Of the 5 fighters I designed, I envisioned this one as more of a heavy gunship as stated above. All five fighters have a VTOL type element (if you need that sort of thing) and all have a nomenclature after an insect that has some similarity in shape or feature to the vessel.

Cool build Josh. Yeah... Contest... Hmmm...
-
And you know it. You got 350 days to man up and prepare for man date 2017!

Not good at planning man dates Corney believes it is all my fault that man date fell through- though we both know he was just scared of my animal magnetism.
-
Can't get a date from Corney :( Because Corney wouldn't go on a man date with me. Hinck says it's not me, it's him- but I think it is me... and I think Hinck thinks that too.

Mortesv's UCS Nebulon-B Medical Frigate INSTRUCTIONS AVAILABLE
ZCerberus replied to Cjd223's topic in LEGO Star Wars
EB's primary function is not as a commerce site. Please read the site guidelines on this. There is limited ability to sell on the buy/sell forum and through a single link in a thread so long as the PRIMARY purpose is the MOC/creation. This thread is clearly primarily about commerce. As such, it has been locked. -

EB is not a site primarily designed for commerce. More to come when I am at computer and not phone. -
Please keep sales in the buy/sell forum.

Thank you! This on really is my favorite.

Nice. Is there a picture of the real thing for comparison? I always like to see that in these types of posts. I love the taxi with the PFs, looks awesome.
-
Sweet! Good builders are good builders. I think you would do great!

Thanks Soccer! Ready to abandon castle for the construction truck revolution?!?
-
It, of course, depends on how much the object weighs, but it can lift a LEGO vehicle without much issue even without any real weights. I did consider U.S. currency coins (dimes) as potential counterweights, but for what I am using if for now, there was no need. I also do have a few old boat weights, but the ones I have a taller than I would like for this model. Great idea! I am no stranger to the PFs as I have used them quite a bit in castle models (no joke), but it would require some real modification to work. I will likely leave this one as is, but a future project might start with that as a goal and I'll see what I can do.

Yeah, that is why I have more or less just stopped using windscreens. I would love to see it in real brick!
-
I thought that too, but it still all worked on my end. Like I said, must have cached the images or something. Are they all there now?
-
I updated the photos with "cleaner versions" they still show up for me, though I am sure the images are cached on my end. How does it look now?
-
With the picture, I have to say, this is a very good representation of the actual machine. At first I thought it looked a little too square in places, but after seeing the photo, that really is how that particular bulldozer looks. The one area that could use a little update is the squareness of the front windscreen, though I love the compact scale here, so anything else may be quite hard to achieve. Like you, I am not naturally a construction vehicle kind of guy, so I really appreciate seeing another builder step into the realm of minifig scale construction equipment!
