  1. Thanks everyone. This little build actually inspired my CH 5 entry. Not done with it yet, but I am on to detailing now. It is just tan and white. The are curved using flextube spines. I LOVE the rigid flex tube. It is my pest friend!
  2. I have to regulate on you here Zach. The first picture is too big! Max must be 800 x 600.
  3. No price confirmation for US or UK yet... or for any set for anywhere yet! One member did pick up two sets from Greece, but it is hard to know how those prices will translate.
  4. I am not sure. I saw a similar technique without the wheel in the center before. The addition of the wheel really makes the whole thing more stable and allows for a center connection point.
  5. That is a pretty advanced technique... The basic structure is 2 strips of tank tread wrapped around a wheel with technic beams and plates to get the right thickness.
  6. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] I always seem to get TheBrickAvenger's work right on time!
  7. So THAT's how to make a dragon. I was WAY off! Very creative. Nice work.
  8. Great work man. Totally works. Like Jack, I also prefer the black variations, but who cares, this thing rules!
  9. It was discussed by a member. It is NOT confirmed!
  10. Thanks for the intro Boney! Though it feels like Boney is leaving out what I have been doing for the last year- I have been building for your subforum, the Guilds of Historica! Historica is NOT Heroica, so those of you who are scared of our subforum, don't be- tons of great builds in there for anyone willing to check out the four guilds. A few of my history credentials for those who are worried about hearing I am a pirate builder in disguise!
  11. The beauty of flickr is that it automatically give you so many sizes to choose from!! I added the picture from the link and you can now click the picture to take you to your photo stream. Very tall tower. I like that the shape isn't perfectly rectangular. I would work on making the trees taller and the landscape more lush. You could add some stone work detail above the door to the tower if you want to add some gusto.
  12. Man, you're wack! First of all, Taz is already in Nocturnus and secondly more than one user account is strictly prohibited. As regulator, I can assure you, I am ALL over it.
  13. That is not what happened at all. Here is the scoop- members began discussing LotR 2013 in the LotR 2012 thread. I told them that stuff should be in a new thread. Because of my instruction to move it to a new thread, someone else made a 2013 thread in here. It was NOT staff, but a regular member. I saw your post which was locked in the themes forum, but I do not have the power to move the thread here. I can only regulate within my own forum and could not move or merge your topic here. I think Corney over in the themes forum thought your questions would fit in the 2012 topic. He simply didn't know I had instructed everyone to post 2013 rumors in a new thread. Since the 2013 thread popped up shortly after my request in the 2012 thread and it also cropped up around the same time as your post, I let it slide. Sorry you felt ignored, that was not what happened.
  14. Heh. Good guys in different colors is a yes from the picture. I also see one of the orange guys wearing somehthing other than a ADU helmet in that picture. Very interesting.
  15. 2 things. 1. PLEASE don't quote an entire post or pictures in a post. Just quote the part you are replying directly to. 2. We do know LotR will continue in 2013, but we know NOTHING but rumor. Discussing rumor is okay, but let's just assume no one has an official list yet.
  16. Two more notes... I think Gabe also used the domes in his challenge 2 build, so check that out too. This build qualifies for High King of the Elves title in Avalonia.
  17. M’Lord Rex, I leave today from the Enchanted Forest for the Kaliphlin badlands to enter a Tournament of Champions. My time with the elves has proven most enlightening. I sent word to our Elven emissary, Lord Varis, to tell Priestess Miress to prepare for my arrival. Varis and I found Priestess Miress at the Altar of Hardool who greeted me with great affection. The Priestess has since become Queen of her tribe of Elves. Though I am years older, she has aged not but a day since the victory at Eli’s Rock. She has not forgotten our days together after the defeat of the House of Baine when your father and I helped rebuild the Elven temples and villages. Much like Huntsman Raman, she too calls me “the Green Knight”. Though she seemed most ecstatic to see me, she was very troubled when I presented Vile’s ring. After much prayer to at the Altar of Hardool she revealed to me the existence of at least three more lords of Baine spread throughout Historica. One of the villains takes up residence on the mountain passes of Mitgardia, another in the swamplands of Nocturnus, and the last on the desert plains of Kaliphlin. Despite her great powers and hours of prayer, she could only clearly envision one of the evil lords. Varis informs me the description of the dark lord Miress envisions matched that of a legendary jouster in Kalphlin, Duke Greevum. Greevum has won the most brutal of jousting tournaments hosted in the Succus Badlands eight years in a row. As luck would have it, Varis says the tournament is occurring five days from now, and I have dispatched a Green Rider to enter my lance in this year’s tournament. Though it has been years since I have taken up a lance and shield in a joust, this may be our best opportunity to get close to Greevum. Varis says that even though the joust is for sport, Greevum has slain many opponents in the tournament. I question why any man would still raise a lance if such a ruthless ruffian was always the victor. Queen Miress gave me her tribe’s finest Elven lance and a finely crafted Elven blade in hopes that I may defeat Greevum in the tournament and learn more about the Baine Lords that escape her vision. With the Elven gifts in my hands and Miress’s enchanting beauty in my heart, I ride for the badlands. Your friend Trian Buress, the Green Knight of Avalonia Enemies defeated: None Allies Acquired: Miress Greenclove and her tribe of Elves Items Acquired: Fine Elven Lance and Blade Other Chapters in the House of Baine saga: Chapter 1: the Forgotten House Chapter 2: The Wizard's Tower (not posted) Chapter 3: The Keeper's Tomb (Challenge 3 entry) Chapter 4: Altar of Hardool
  18. I swear I have seen these techniques before...
  19. Great work man. The bottom level feels a bit sparse outside the main building but there are a lot of great deal of little details that are just excellent. You're best work by far. A++
  20. Okay your history regulator says 2 things... 1... We are discussing pure rumor and 2, this should be in a LotR 2013 thread. This thread is to discuss 2012.
  21. Nice Ork. He looks very tough indeed!
  22. Looks like what we have been talking about. An insectoid type baddy. That looks like a set in the line to me for sure.
  23. We were all focused SW... But there are other Lucasfilm properties as some have mentioned. Indiana Jones... Willow... I don't know if those go in the deal, but a new Willow franchise would be cool.
  24. Maybe you need to re-read what I wrote. I was saying the OT WAS market to kids, so I don't think this will be some sea change for the franchise.
  25. I think the Mickey jokes are a little silly. Is Mickey in the PotC movies? I don't recall. No? Is Mickey a staple of Monday night football? ESPN is owned by Disney too is it not... and Marvel as well... No Mickey in those films? Oh, okay then. I know a lot of it is sarcasm, but really, come on peeps, try harder! It's NOT like the original trilogy or prequels WEREN'T marketed to kids! To me, I like the general idea of the script writing being released from George's grasp. That is ultimately a good thing. I think George made a lot of mistakes in Episode 1 (didn't make the Sith something to really fear which could have been done with some background/flashback type work and really could have helped the whole franchise out) Episode II was totally forgetable (what happened in that one again?) and Episode III removes all the drama and mystery from Episodes V and VI surrounding Luke and Leia's origins. I think having another voice to say will be good. Plus, now Lego needs to maintain fewer partners for the theme sets. Maybe this means those sets will drop a buck or two in price. Probably not, but who knows.
