I'm still here. Any ideas to "kick start" the guilds again? -
Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

For something specific? Or for contributions in general? PM me if you have something we need to discuss! Also, why are you seeking the recognition from me specifically. Is it a history thing that requires a regulator? -
Both of you please play nice so I don't need to use the warning stick on you! It seems there was some debate if it was the front or back due to the picture, so I guess your noggin was used when you correctly read it was the back printing! Maybe you can take pride in being right and let the perceived insult slide this time.

Thinking back to the LotR sets for example, Legalos only comes in the Moria set when he just as easily could have been in Helm's Deep instead. LEGO's hands are somewhat tied if a character could only appear in one set (Boromir could only be in the Moria set for example, and no hobbits could be in Helm's Deep) but after that part is set, for the most part they just spread them out so all sets need to be purchased to get everone. I think you are going a little deep on the Legolas Gimli family bond thing. I would guess since the dwarves are mostly together for the adventures, LEGO just did their best to spread the dwarves across the sets.

Making a topic for a WIP is not frowned upon, and in fact is HIGHLY encouraged. However, making a topic asking if you SHOULD create a topic for a WIP IS frowned upon! I guess you got two strikes in one swing on that one! You can edit your first post, and add the WIP pictures to it. Make sure the pictures aren't bigger than 800 x 600. I can change the title to whatever you want the WIP to say at that time. I fixed the extra 's', but we can come up with a better title once you have the photos. Something like medieval cottage WIP or something.

Hate to do the regulator thing on a good MOC, but keep the pictures to 800 x 600 pixels, the first picture is outside those limits. -
You question the regulator magical powers? I really liked your figures Ecc. They were very excellent. You seem to have a knack for creating and shooting great figures!
-
Great colors and very nicely detailed. The only thing I would say is that it looks a little more modern than the castle fig would lead me to believe. Very nice work though!

I agree and only SoT knows for sure. I am just saying my favorites don't mean squat! I just thought I could be somewhat impartial since I really didn't have a dog in the fight. I don't think you are being out of line, I am just not sure SoT or any guild leaders who like entries want to volunteer that info at the risk of seeming to have favorites or supporters or non-supporters of their guild!
-
Guild leaders tend to not vote because they don't want to vote "against their guild" or be seen as having "favorites". They do score the builds for gold for the guilds. In both of the last two challenges the best scoring entries were not the same as the most popular by vote. I do think the guild leaders do a good job of using the criteria listed to judge the challenges which might not be the same as the popular vote. In this case SoT had the only vote. To be honest, SoT is the main creative force in the preludes and it was his contest. There were a lot of good entries. Other guild leaders can volunteer their favorites if they like.

2013? These are out by December 1st! I would guess we'll see them at TRU before mid November! I suppose you are referring to the "other" sets due out after December 31. Who would buy outside history though?
-
Though this thread isn't THAT old, a general reminder to not bump older threads just to say "good work" etc. P.s. good work Ecc!
-
I would guess it is movable. 99% sure on that!

That gray mod looks like the hyenas from Lion King.
-
If that is accurate, that is good considering the # of figs and liscence up charge.
-
Dale, the real question for you is if you added lights to the castle yet! I agree- the torsos and hair pieces are excellent!

Nice work! Your first photo is outside the site size guidelines. Keep the pictures to a max of 800 x 600. -
Those were just MY favorites. Build was not #1 or else Torgar or Gabe would have been tough to beat, but I thought those entries ALSO had strong stories and fit in well with Historica. I am not privy to SoT's scores, but I know he did use story and theme idea heavily in his consideration. I think one thing that hurt entries like Gabe's and yours, Rogue, was there were several entries with an Orient type look. I don't know if he will release the scores or not, but it never hurts to ask!

Your friendly regulator adds the "main" pictures to the first post in the thread.

Could be both. Hobbit for sure at year end, could be a summer wave with LotR. We'll have to see.
