Indeed. I have quite a few troops, so I would love to make a MOC of them marching off to war, but I am working on Brickworld stuff first, then some other builds. Maybe I can slap together a little something soon. -
Very nice. double from me. Trian Burress is questing to track down the survivors of the house of Baine, but Sir Buress plans to send his second in command with the Mesodraconem army to the border to stand guard.

What?!? You and dG making a similar MOC... unheard of! -
Good work man. I like that you incorporated the snow this time! I like the mantlets. Yours are so small and cute, in a good way. for jFox, secret mantlets. The ram is cool, but a critique if I may... how do you move it into place? Normally one with a roof like that allow those on the inside to touch the ground, and push the ram while being protected from projectiles. Just a thought.

Edit: All the information here so Lord Rex can easily transport to first post Name: Trian Burress Rank: Lord of Mesodraconem Age: 51 Weapon of Choice: Javelin and shield (mounted) and Axe (on foot) History: Sir Burress, an old friend to the Artorious Rex's father, helped free the Enchanted Forest from the clutches of the House of Baine during Avalonia's "wild period". It is said Burress’s well timed cavalry charge through the Enchanted Forest finally broke the House of Baine at the Battle of Eli’s Rock. As a reward for his service, Lord Rex awarded Sir Burress Lordship over Mesodraconem and a post in the capital city of Albion to help rebuild the Pearl City to its former glory. Little is known Burress’s life before joining forces with Artorious’s father to free the Enchanted Forest from the terror of the House of Baine. Some say he was born to a Kaliphlin woman and Mitgardian man in a Nocturnus dungeon while others claim he is the secret heir and only surviving member of the House Greffin. The House of Burress may not rule Mesodraconem for long as Lord Burress, middle-aged at best, has never been married and has sired no children; though he has been linked in rumor to an Elven priestess named Mitress Greenclove. Lord Burress’s first orders of business when named Lord of Mesodraconem was to rebuild all the public schools and commission a new garrison at River Run Watchtower. He has since been questing throughout all of Historica to track down the rumored surviving members of the House of Baine. -
Eek! Looks like what I am planning on bringing has expanded in size... it is now 80 x 100 or so... hope we can fit it all!!

Nice and fun. I like the last shot the best. Damn Baine. I have heard rumors that four Baine Lords survived the supposed extinction of their clan. Their ability to corrupt and deceive is troubling. Even a single Baine Lord has the ability to corrupt an entire village. If the rumors of their survival are true, the Phoenix guard may need to rise again to fend them off!

uh oh. Drow sighting confirmed. Mesodraconem forces deployed... -
Ah, how sweet. Happy birthday +3.

Very nice. I like just about everything here. I would consider adding some snow to the roof or on the ground of the bridge. Nice work with the doors and the angled build.

Is there some reason no one blogged this? Anyone? No? No one at all? No? Not you down in the corner there? No? No one? Okay. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

As you mentioned, I disconnect the string from the reel on that trebuchet you linked to. With the "hamster wheels" on the sides to prime the firing arm, it would take a massive weight to uncoil it once it is tightened up. it does have a stop to hold the reel when it is coiled, but it would spin out very slowly without disconnecting the string from the wench. I did make a second trebuchet on top of the Great Gatehouse of Albion which also has a small counterweight that does not have the large wind-up wheels. That one, like yours, only requires a flick of a switch to fire. You can see that trebuchet if you click the picture of the gatehouse in my signature.

Ohh. Nice. I like the seige tower. Black is usually so hard to photograph, but I can see the detail pretty clearly here. I used US coins (dimes specifically) in the counterweight on mine. I don't know how the coins compare to the batteries but maybe that could send the bricks even further!

The pictures look great! Way to go man!

I also tried it this morning. It works perfectly (its like LEGO thought of that when the designed the brick)! I would caution though that newer 1 x 2 x 2 panels have extra supports built in and are too thick to work. The tall panel then can go up in multiples of two bricks and the little panel can do single level so long as there is a plate or brick below it. I guess we have ourselves a legal solution (until DC tells me it is illegal somehow). Indeed. I think it would quickly be called the "Corner SNOT brick" or the "CSB".

Some of that is true. We do like light pink when it is the color of the blood stains on our swords and armor. We do bring sandwiches with when we go to war (that is just a common sense), but we never put celery in them. Everyone knows you use celery to make "ants on a log". We do fight in the rain, but we prefer the mud best when two salty Avalonian wenches are wrestling in it. We don't use purses for quivers, but we do decorate our quivers with the ears and teeth of fallen Drow. I could see the confusion there. I have some questions for you "master" Drow... Is it true that the Drow battle cry is "Drow eat ice cream!"? Is it true that Drow can tell the difference between every shade of red and black, but are otherwise completely color blind? Is it true that all Drow smell like the feet or a Kaliphlin ostrich racer? Is it true that Drow build massive buildings because they are compensating for something? Is it true that Drow put celery on their sandwiches? That is just too weird! -
How is it even possible that no one has tagged this for blogging yet? [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] Plus there is that whole Golden Hinde right on the backside there!

Drow shmow. They don't scare me. Always walking around screaming "Drow Eat Icecream". I think Nocturnus should be worried though since their leader is named icecream cone... I mean I Scream Clone... I meand lord Slytherin... I mean... I don't know what I mean... -
It would get hard to go up more than a level or two if you were doing a corner like Matn did. I wonder if this piece would work to go up TWO levels though... I would think it would clear the stud on the bottom, and on the front, but I am not sure if the top would hit the stud or not. I have used it for "lattice" work on houses when there will be plates on top of the "travis" brick and panel which is typical for a lot of SNOT building, just not for the corner thing you have done here.
-
it is significant, or it is not significant? I take it gabe doesn't use the connection then...
-
I didn't know it was a called a travis brick... where did that come from? Yes, it is technically illegal (DC informed me of that) because the holes don't quite line up perfectly on those two parts. If you look closely at them connected, you will see the Technic 1 x 1 is slightly higher than the "travis" brick. LEGO does have the connection listed as illegal if you have as brick or plate above or below the connection. I think this part or this part would be legal though, and I have used these with some success! Despite the illegal connection, I used it ALL the time anyway just like you two. It is barely off center and it is was more practical than a lot of other techniques!
-
Welcome back Matn. Can you post this is the Albion thread as well? Thanks!
-
I like the trees. I have never done FP, so this look cool to me. I agree that an added baseplate on the sides or some cropping would enhance the look. Do you have a photo editing program? A blue backdrop could really enhances something like this as well. Good work on expanding your skills!

Good work snazzy Tazzy. I like dark gray tower color and the stained glass window (I swear I've seen that technique before) coloring is really cool. I don't know if it is the angles or the colors, but there is something I really like about the whole build. The one thing I will say, as cool as the BrickThing figures are, I would liked to have seen some close-ups/details of the build itself and not just of the figures.
