  1. ...and despite my clear advice, he went and advertised anyway. Please take this as an example of what not to do.
  2. Not as such. Posting about sales in the BSTF is a separate issue. Some people do over-post there, and that is a problem, but posting about your shop in your first few posts make your motivations for joining a site look a bit questionable. (By more active I'm not talking about 1000 posts. Just about 20...)
  3. Become a more active member first. Otherwise it makes you look like someone who just joined to advertise... ...and you agreed to not do this.
  4. I love Technic and Model Team, I love Backhoes.... and I love MOCs by Ralph_S. Load up!
  5. OK. Well all things considered...
  6. Yes. I couldn't put it better myself. I tend to go by the height, and work with the width. Take a look at the Speed Racer sets. For some silly reason these sets went for width, and for that reason they were waaay too big.
  7. No. We do. Anyway, I forgot to lock this...
  8. Well it seems he's not coming back so....
  9. Happy Birthday buddy.
  10. Please; improve your spelling and grammar. You're reminding me of a ten year old.
  11. Well since he made a public complaint, I'm giving him a public second chance; it saves me the bother of chambering him. If he doesn't give a good response today I'll ban him. As an added bonus, it'll hopefully discourage people doing the same thing... and at least in this case people shouldn't be questioning our reasons for banning a member!
  12. My first topic was locked!
  13. Both of those sets have one thing in common; I built them wrong on purpose. The instructions called for the props to be the same way, and that is just plain wrong (it'll cause the sub to pull to one side ) so I "handed" them. But that's not all I do. For example the 7661 Jedi Starfighter; I don't have it together at the moment (I recently moved ) but the engines I built so they were mirrors left<->right, rather than the left+top <-> right+bottom that the instructions call for. More often than not, it seems that TLG do this to simplify instructions; it allows more "x 2s", so I see it as "correcting". Am I the only one that does this?
  14. No, you're wrong. Your topic got closed because it's stupid to just jump into a new place and start trying to do something as ambitious as organise a team build with your first post. Are you aware that on EB you can't even PM until you have ten posts? Don't you think that would make it hard to organise people? Also, in the past we've had people start things like this and not finish it, leaving us the staff to finish things off. Thus we don't like it when people who recently joined try to do what you did. I gave you a chance to elaborate as to why we should trust you, and you just gave a silly answer. So I closed it pending us knowing more about you and your board posting habits. It seems I have my answer now.
  15. You're off to a bad start; you haven't even introduced yourself. I'm closing this for now. Get back to me when you're part of the EB community.
  16. Huh? Don't you think it's rather odd for you to announce a "community" project when you joined EB only today?
  17. Yeah, I was using a different hosting site. Thanks for showing me that it doesn't work as advertised! I've "fixed" it now.
  18. True but they start out lower; 1.25 nominal. Some devices see that as "flat" from the start...
  19. Wonderful! Very nice idea to base the engines of his buddies... I am thankful though that you didn't include Ken.
  20. But what's keeping his sleeves in place?
  21. I was out shopping and I ran into this. I then gave it too much thought on what was worse; the guy with no pants or the guy with topless-sleeves? I couldn't decided so I'm here asking for help.
  22. Because it's a custom smart high powered lithium. There's a good analysis here. Is it worth the asking price? I'm not sure...
  23. While this is probably the best April Fools joke I saw this year, the day has long passed so....
  24. Done! I'll have to download them too!
