  1. Wow! These are turning up earlier than I expected... and I love that new gun! Thanks for the review. (...and on a side note it's interesting to note that the helmet and the gun that was supposed to be exclusive to the fig line has now became common. No, I'm not complaining! )
  2. Thanks for the great review! I bought this set as at the time it was the best way to get the rest of the parts I needed to build a "supercar". I didn't like the model itself much, but it was a great parts set with good mechanics.
  3. Thanks for the comments everyone. I believe a mix of both; ones such as the scuba diver I suspect has a very solid internal frame. I doubt any are 100% solid LEGO thought, but we do have a few people on this forum who work, or have worked, at the parks who would have a more accurate answer. Well I have two kids so it was a new experience for them. I wouldn't go by myself... certainly not to see a few models! I think he's Poseidon or Neptune.
  4. Please don't create clone topics; if you want a topic moved report it and ask. I've merged the discussions... ...and improved the name.
  5. Impressive... most impressive. (The balcony is supposed to be curved though... )
  6. Well in that case...
  7. Not now; the topic title used to be something like "Need Help". I renamed it.
  8. Yeah, I was hoping as much. It's truly stunning!
  9. The balls are just leaning on that trans blue piece. Nothing complicated... Possibly.
  10. "Forager" class mechs are heavily used by the Classics as a light enforcement tool. Protesters? Send in a Forager. Hostage crisis? Send in a Forager. Drug smugglers? Send in a few Foragers. Tax evasion? Send in a Forager... OK, maybe not then. Maybe... Due to their overpowered legs they are capable of some impressive feats; jumps of 20 meters for example, or parachute-less deployment from over 100 meters and a ground movement speed of around 150 kph. Thus they get used for many odd jobs, but they excel at light enforcement, reconnaissance and anti-infantry roles. Unlike many larger mechs they don't have a separate "head" or true "arms". For this reason there are sensors in the "chin" and rear, and light manipulators capable of carrying around 100kg are equipped to reduce the need of the pilot to exit the safety of the cockpit. Weaponry varies according to the role, but common equipment are missile pods either side for anti-armour, twin machine guns aiming up for anti-air duties, and another machine gun and grenade launcher for anti-personnel. Against an anti-armour mech Foragers will generally do hit-and-fade attacks; their armour is strictly designed to handle small arms and a single hit (via either physical or weaponry) will result in the loss of the unit. Foragers do not have an escape system either. Even so, pilots usually like piloting Foragers, and races are organised regularly. In this role the missile pods are normally removed. On the subject of this photo, it's unclear what's going on here. The Classics refused to give an official image, so these one were sourced via a contact. This could be a terrorist camp attack, or it could be just that the pilot wasn't invited to a party and decided to do something about it. What happens next is also unclear; the pilot may have gone home after he grabbed the croissant, but that turkey looks mighty tempting.... MOC comments The story of this MOC is long and complex. Hinckley asked me about 2 years ago to make something for Brickworld. He asked one thing, I read another, and I made the wrong thing. I then got caught up in details, didn't like them, and then moved house twice. Last month I decided I'd finish this, and this weekend I did! It uses a lot of parts from the Midgard Serpent in 7018; using these parts was part of my personal challenge for this MOC. The head is used as the base, and the back is the cockpit. I then made something around that. When that was roughly finished, I then went onto the legs. At that point I made a silly decision; I want suspension! I then messed around for a bit but never made anything that I liked so the project was "shelved". (Actually boxed.) But in the end I did make something I was happy with. My main issue at the time was that I wanted it to be reasonably compact, strong, and smoooth. After about 20 prototypes I ended up with this. Here it is uncompressed.... ...and compressed. Well thanks for looking! Feel free to critique it; I won't bite... well I'll try to not anyway.
  11. I love the smug looking insurance! Great MOC... but I'm not sold on the Chrome. It seems a lot of effort, and cost. As he says, he must be a magpie!
  12. That's the way it has to be. Why? 1. Commenting on MOCs becomes confusing and it's hard to tell if a topic has been updated for a new MOC or for a new comment. 2. Many MOCs belong in a particular forum. For example Model Team and Technic don't go in here, and if a MOC is to do with a license it goes in Licensed. 3. It's harder to find a MOC if it's all in one topic. ...but most of all... 4. Why should people do what you want? I think most people prefer to post MOCs in a new topic. I do. While I'm discussing things with you, I'm asking you nicely to please improve your posting style. I find it very hard to believe you're 19... ...on second thoughts, I just checked; you've been warned on this before. Time to take this to the next stage.
  13. No. This is not a good idea...
  14. SNIPE Please don't make such vague and mostly useless topic titles. It's really annoying to the other members. Yeah. He's a huge help to this forum.
  15. I've seen the "Special Edition" to mean exclusive to any store in Australia. For example the "Special Edition" Atlantis set, 8080 Undersea Explorer, was exclusive to K-Mart. (The Australian K-Mart has no ties to the USA store).
  16. As a few have noted in the Aussie Sales topic, the group that owns the LEGOLAND parks, Merlin Entertainments now own Sydney Aquarium. As a possible precursor to this deal, in late October a new sub attraction called LEGO on the Loose appeared at Sydney Wildlife World and Sydney Aquarium. I just moved to the area at the time so I didn't have time to go, but today I went to the Sydney Aquarium and to my surprise the attractions are still there. Does this bode well for a future Sydney LEGOLAND or at least an official store? I'd like to think so! In any case, here are the photos! This is DUPLO! Vandalism (or old age) highlights how these are made...
  17. From what I've seen it means a limited number of shops.
  18. Sure. What I can do is let people vote for sites and I'll organise something. For now post here.
  19. Very smart. I love it.
  20. Yeah, there is that, but I'm sure they'll do a new one in time. At least it's available in some form; the lack of a minifig Millennium Falcon for the past few years has been annoying the begesies out of me!
  21. ...er.... please don't use misleading titles to gain attention. I've corrected the title.
  22. I don't think "limited" refers to time. I think it refers to availability. In any case I think it's a good thing. Why is it bad?
  23. Indeed it is. I've just merged a few topics on this MOC.
  24. Just here please. The whole point of having sub-forms is to keep the site organised and more focused. People posting in multiple sub-forums just makes a mess of the place. I'll try; I do have many jobs to do already, and most don't take long... Aside from not being offensive or too big, we don't have any rule on avatars.
  25. Errrrrr.... please don't clone topics hoping to achieve greater exposure, especially when it's off topic. That'll just get attention that you don't want. I've merged them.
