We have a topic on this problem here. In short, it's a local issue (as in your computer, not EB) that's often caused by cookie errors. Deleting them (via the bottom of this page) supposedly can help. (I've never had this problem myself so I don't have any better advice.)

The votes are recorded by the board, but there's no easy way for anyone (including admins) to extract that data. I'm not sure if it even records the actual choices. My best guess would normally be that you've damaged the power to the backlight... but the "very dark at certain angles" at first that then became "99.9% dark at all angles" implies something different. To my knowledge Apple put ambient light sensors in the keyboard so it shouldn't be that. I looked around and found this, which give some advice.

Cool castle! That's a lot of Modulex... Ratio. LEGO bricks have a 6.5:5 width/length ratio, while Modulex is a cube with a 5:5 width/length ratio. This is done for ease of building to a scale.
