That is so cool! Thanks for taking the time! I've been admiring all of your work throughout the site for some time. So these are drawn, not edited? You're really good! BTW, I hope you don't mind, but I made a emoticon out of it! :sin: :sin:

Do note that doing that can change your viewing mode.

...and CopMike answered your question! So why did you create a second topic? Yeah, I agree, but if I move this I bet he'll just create a third topic...

As others have said, it's better to pick a few key words. I tend to have success most of the time... but to be honest I have troubles myself from time to time. You can select where it searches in the advanced options.

I've been wanting to take photos of this set for a while, but due to his size and shape it's hard. Recently I decided due to a combination of his bulk, fragility and wanting some of the parts that it's recycling time, and that caused him to run out the door. But I was prepared; I had a tonberry at the ready. Undeterred Grievous attacks! The fight rages on... ...and the General senses an advantage... ...but it was just a diversion and they resume their positions. The tonberry notices the weak spot... ...and moves in to strike... ...but it's skillfully dodged! Both combatants pause... ...and Grievous realises he may have met his match... ...and that he might be defeated by a soft toy. Go tonberry! My plan to break this aside, I think this is a very under appreciated set. As I said earlier, the model is very hard to photograph due to the size and complex shape, and I do think that this is a model that's best appreciated in person. Even so, it's a pain to keep together; parts fall off all the time, it's hard to put in different poses, hard to dust... and that's why I decided that I'd give him one last hurrah! Taking these photos was hard; balance is always a huge problem with Grievous, and parts kept falling off which is not a good thing when you're outside. (A few are noticeably missing; especially the sabers.) But I think that TLG did a great job making a model like this with relatively few pieces and if I had more room and pieces I'd keep him together. (There's an arguably better review here.)

I really like this! It give me flashbacks to the Batman LEGO game! The plant monster is especially nice; good use of that printed piece. The story is well photographed too!

New Lego Architecture 21006 The White House
Siegfried replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hmm, I actually like this one! Yes, that has been a complain of mine too. -
As others have said to do this would involve actually hosting the image. We have no intention of ever providing enough hosting space for every member to do that. (It's possible we might increase space for long-term members.) This is possible.

Yeah, I know. It does seem that my taste sux! My goal was to make it look like a WWI battleship top on a zeppelin; thus the grey and "wood" decking. Thus to me it looks mostly as intended. The only thing that I probably will change is the lower gondola; I planned to make the top around two times bigger but I realised that it wouldn't work. When I find the time I'll probably move the guns to the side and make the gondola about half the size. But thanks very much for your opinion! The good thing is that most of my MOCs that I'm planning in the future don't have a drab colour scheme... Yes, really! If this thing can do 260 km/h in reality land... ...mine can do 250 km/h in fantasy land. Seriously, it's not that fast; I've been on a steam warship that went at 80 km/h at full speed.

Has TLG ever borrowed ideas from AFOLs?
Siegfried replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You know, I was going to reply and say that it's nothing like the TLG one, but I checked just to be sure and... There is a lot in common, I have to say. I think (ignoring the pool) the official is superior but still, it does make me wonder. -
I'd be more likely to hide the fashion bag!

Thanks for admitting it. Oh. My. Gosh. That's some serious bumping!

Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
Siegfried replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I had a dream like that last night.... ahhh good times. -
Really? Consider how often I read stuff like "the house fell apart like LEGO", and how often LEGO is written incorrectly I think they are very restrained. The last time I heard of them complaining was over this.. ...but that was pulled after a complaint, no lawsuit needed. When were they last in court over trademarks?

Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
Siegfried replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Yeah, I've been trying to persuade the wife on that one for weeks. She hasn't been very persuadable. -
Errr.... not really. It is a close promotion but it's not connected. Do remember that we've had more than a few staff promotions from non-Fellows; it's not a required or ever related first step.

This is really cool and smart! (One really has to wonder why though! )
-
It's typical mainstream-media-covers-adults-that-play-with-LEGO fare, but it's still worth watching.
-
Cool MOC! Are you aware how insane this idea is; a stretched Smart Car? The funny thing is it's actually been done!

My thoughts exactly. My hobbies and interests are my business. I'm actually quite happy to discuss my LEGO interest with people. In fact I was out yesterday and a old couple were looking at a large set debating buying for their grandson. I butted in and told them it was an unmarked 30% off sale and was a good deal. They then asked "Does your son have this?". I just laughed and said "I buy more LEGO for myself!" Life's too short to care what people think.
