  1. Great artwork and very true! Even so I don't care about admitting that I'm the one with the biggest interest... and I often go to the LEGO lanes by myself or without the kids. I think I'm almost there. I'm at around 150,000 so I can be a bit more picky these days. However I'm a real sucker for discount LEGO. IMHO the good thing about a LEGO collection is compared to other hobbies, like cars, it can be quite cheap. Also, if you tire of LEGO (is that possible?) you should be able to sell your collection at at least 50% of what you paid for. Try doing that with a car. You've got the skills that's for sure, but yeah, to be professional you'll need speed and consistency as well. I've always been surprised at how fast Manga artists can churn stuff out.
  2. Note the date. This was 11 months ago. It could be smarter to wait until AFOL12v updates this topic.
  3. Grogall has more high-res pics, this time Harry Potter! Hi-res Harry Here!
  4. Well first off, sorry that I have caused offense or have made you unhappy. Believe it or not my goal is to keep EB running smoothly and I take my cues from what members expect from EB. It may seem that it's all on a personal whim, but rarely it's like that. In fact in this case I noticed your topic early in my morning and thought "gee, this is a bit excessive" but I had real life things to do so I let it slide. Later on in the day I received a complaint about it, gave it some more thought, made what I saw as a polite post and closed the topic. Funnily this morning I received a few complaints about this topic too and that's why I'm here! Sorry to say, this is where you are 100% wrong. We have over 9000 registered members, with around 2000 of those being active. Now look at the BSTF forum; with my settings of 40 topics per page there are topics that cover about 15 days. Isn't that great? If someone posts a topic in there it'll be reasonably viewable for 2 weeks! Now look what you wanted to do. Each time you updated that topic you would have made things just that bit harder for someones sale to get exposure. What would happen if 40 people made a similar topic? The sales topics would keep being bumped down and as a result the BSTF forum would be useless for selling and people would be annoyed about it. There would probable be a lot more topic bumping for this reason, causing more problems. Do you see my point of view? You may see it as a loss of freedom, but the simple fact of life is that freedom almost always comes at a price. In this case your freedom to have a topic for your purchases takes away the freedom of other members to sell or buy on EB. Don't you think that's a bit selfish? I sure do, and that's why I closed your topic. Personally I use Peeron for the same purpose. It's designed for it and it's a really great resource. Sometimes I post in the Aussie Sales topic if I think it could be of interest or use to other members. Exactly. I just did that as I'm decently sure that he's read it. Yes, it'll be merged into our S&M topic.
  5. It shouldn't. What browser are you using? Do you know how to reset your cookies? That can often be the problem. I never log out.
  6. In my experience all rechargeables are the same. I personally use rechargeables in almost everything so it doesn't make a huge difference, but I just wanted a chance to get one of those new packs at a retail price. Looks like I might have to pony up the big bucks...
  7. Happy Birthday Mr News!
  8. NOTE: I'll be expanding this first post later... Bricklink can be a good place for bargains, but the bigger stores will sometimes ship internationally. Depending on the current exchange rate, it can be a great way to get sets early or at a lower price... but experiences vary. Some sites flat our ban it, others sometimes cancel prior to shipping, but other times you can get a bargain! Common sites include; Barnes & Noble Amazon.fr Amazon.co.uk To get the conversation started I've moved some relevant posts from the Aussie Sales topic to here.
  9. Sad to say custom work is expensive. Making the mould itself will cost several hundred; how is your prototype made? In any case my only advice is ask other customisers, such as http://www.arealightcustoms.com/. (Since this is moving more and more towards custom work, I'm moving this to the custom forum. I probably should have put it there in the first place... )
  10. It's not that hard, but I'm feeling generous. These guys sell one, this guy made one and here's a whole forum.
  11. Internal EB messaging. But you've given your EMail so that's probably what you actually meant. I've re-named your topic so people don't have to read it first.
  12. You can't receive PMs as you just joined. I'm moving this to community.
  13. I just removed two; one was 594 x 480 pixels and the other was 615 x 461 pixels...
  14. It's not that easy. Even sites like EB that are designed to re-scale have to be designed to accommodate for the smallest common screens, which we've set as 1024x768. I'm running Opera on 1680x1050 + 1280x1024 + 1280x1024.
  15. Ahhh! Now that makes more sense! I just wasn't understanding how they would be selling the rechargeable pack with a new mass marketed train. This makes everything more clear. It is a disappointment thought; I wanted the rechargeable one...
  16. My thoughts exactly. I've merged your other two topics into this one. Please keep all your 8683 related conversations in here.
  17. Yes. I'll probably be skipping them at that price... but I've said that before. Yeah, I posted about that elsewhere. I consider that price OK, but certainly not good. But 160 for 1204 pieces is better than average.
  18. Honest Nirmal Hello beauteous one! Princess Tamina Er... hello? Honest Nirmal I notice there that you are on a camel. Princess Tamina Yes, thanks for that. Honest Nirmal No, no, no, you misunderstand! Someone such as you deserves something much grander! Princess Tamina ..and I suppose you have it? Honest Nirmal Indeed I do! I present my stretched elephant! Princess Tamina Oh my! Honest Nirmal Yes, 2000 years of selective breeding you see before you! Princess Tamina I'm sure... I'll take it! Honest Nirmal I knew you would! The handler comes with it and after trade in it's only 200 gold pieces. Princess Tamina It's a bargain! I love how I can look down on every one! Honest Nirmal I have no doubt... happy journeys! Honest Nirmal Now I best be off before she comes back to complain when he dies in a few days... but what to do with the camel? Oh! Hello! Good sir; I notice you're eating a heart; would you be interested in a camel for afters?
  19. There's an Australian price now; $159.99. All things considered it's an OK price. Thanks.
  20. Well thanks for sharing... but my advice is to see that as a joke. One Bigfoot sighting doesn't prove much.
  21. No, there's no extra figure. It's that simple. The fig that is shown at 2:38 or so is a stupid trick. Why is this a fake? It makes no sense to hide something like this, and LucusArts wouldn't allow it anyway. Proof? Did I miss something?
  22. We tend to only pin obvious topics, such as indexes. It's been proved time and time again that pinned topics are often ignored because they are pinned...
  23. While that's good information that I'm sure no one else thought of it's hardly worth a separate topic so I merged it with the review. Sure you can.
