Well, that too is up to interpretation. You could consider them rare because they are not a set you will find in every store that sells lego. That doesn't mean UCS has that exclusive title of being rare, but anything that is a UCS set will fit the bill. And Expensive doesn't necessarily relate to your income, it's how costly the set is compared to other lego sets. When most themes do not have sets that are over $100, a 200-300$ set is quite expensive in comparison. Most UCs releases equate to lots of parts which lead to higher prices, and they are generally going to be found primarily in Lego brand stores/online.

True, the Mata kanohi were some of the smoothest of mask designs. I think the older Hau could look alright, but the newer Stars Hau still seems off to me. I suppose it's smaller size just looks odd in comparison to the shell design? Or perhaps It's just a case where I struggle to see a character with a red Hau as anyone but Tahu, so seeing him in the HF styling just seems naturally off to me.

I think Mcfarlane should focus on making sure his action figures don't crumble to dust first, I'm not sure who will be doing Halo 5's figures, but if they are anything similar to previously, there is still a lot of QC issues to deal with. A proper way to go about this would be to focus on keeping the "figures" highly detailed and articulate, and the focus of the building set being a diorama or a display stand for the figure(s). That's sort of what that picture shows already, so we will see where this goes.

I don't think I'd like it if they stuck to using just those. The actual shape of the armor (for example the "fins" on the sides of a standard shell) would still be there, and I think armor pieces with shells would still look too similar. Either way they have to do something, because I think trying to mix a Kanohi with the current aesthetic is going to look very odd. Earlier in the topic some of you posted mockups of your own tahu-hero factory blend, but they did suffer from a similar issue, the Hau didn't really seem like it was meant to be there. Of course Lego could redesign the Kanohi to look more simple to match the current armor, but that seems like a silly way out. We saw this same issue with Chima fire sets this year, their very ornamental weapons seem a little odd when compared to their smooth armor design.

Here's a rather obscure thought, Hero Factory being turned into a System theme, Or a system-constraction hybrid similar to Exo-Force in a way, Probably one of my bad ideas, but it would certainly make things interesting if HF and Bionicle were to co-exist.

I've begun "prepping" by rereading the novels, I don't have anything past the last book of 2009, but no matter. As for canisters, I only like to hold on to canisters for one of two reasons; 1) story significance. Toa mata, for example, and the original hero factory canisters had interactivity with the dropship. 2) functionality. The abilit to store masks and heads on the mata canisters (plus the moving label), the weapon storage of the inika, etc. Other than that I don't care much for keeping them, they take up space and I don't store anything in them really. The bags are more space efficient, but again I usually send them to the garbage.

I quite like the shin armor you've given him, and also the color scheme is dispersed well. The gold armor is placed accordingly so that it actually looks like gold armor (not sure if that was the intent or now) Also I do like what you've done with his sword attachments on his waist. The only real this that stuck out to me was the red balljoint in his waist, I'm sure that was due to lack of parts, but it does stick out pretty badly there. Also the krana is an interesting addition to his back, but I think a bit more armor on the back of the shoulders might help. Also..er what's with the hemp and radioactive symbols?

That topic has been live since halfway through last year almost, and has spanned an entire years worth of sets. Besides we don't have as large of a construction fanbase as other forums more catered towards it. Our activity in this sub forum has also doubled what it usually is when news is announced; there's no telling where this topic will end up once the year goes on (I'll change it to ____images and discussion as soon as something is officially confirmed) but based on this week, it is getting far better reception in terms of volume of people when compared to the announcements of rumors in the last few years. Anyway it's not important to discuss really, just an observation. A prequel to the original Bionicle story is an interesting theory, but where to go after that? A reboot is ideal in terms of rewriting the story to give it a simpler edge, if that is Legos intention, but I feel like they'd want to start with something that they can build off of for years to come. Though depending how they handled it, they could do that, like span off of the Toa and focus on a backstory of someone new introduced in that story. Either way, more anything new with a Bionicle story is a welcome change from more HF story (just personal preference to me) if the two run next to eachother, hopefully they keep HF simpler and leave Bionicle closer to what it used to be. Sort of like how you guys suggested Bionicle be kept as a more adult oriented theme whilst HF is aimed more for younger ones

That's an interesting idea. It would help to keep the themes more unique from eachother While I don't mind if Hero Factory were to end, having both running at the same time could really boost the amount of new/recolored elements. Though I think it's safe to say if they kept both, we wouldn't see many more one-off lines on the side like the Super heroes line or the now 2-year Chima ultrabuilds.

I haven't seen this many viewing the Action Figure forum in years- This topic jumped from about 5,000 views to 41,000 in about 2 days. I sort of mentioned this on Flickr, but it goes to show what an impact Bionicle had on people. Regardless of if this is real or fake, this news has pulled in far more traffic than any news about Hero Factory has done, and I see so much more dedication and heartfelt posts in this thread. It's really quite astounding And I will continue to never understand why everyone who takes photos of there things are apparently in the middle of a tornado.

If this is legitimate, I'm a bit worried how they will handle the story. I was someone who liked Bionicle's continuing and complex story. As I recall, one of the reasons Bionicle ended was because the story was hard to jump into if you were new to the theme. So with Hero Factory, everything is done on an episodic basis- What happens in the previous year hardly has an effect on the next. Some episodes leave with some sort of cliffhanger that is never gone back to, as a sort of "you imagine the rest" sort of thing. Oh, how thrilling. With the return of Bionicle, likely the story would acknowledge what has been done before, but it'll be a new story arc, and most likely more simplified. There no telling if we will get the comics, the same amount of books, and whatever other goodies Bionicle gave us before. But if it's done on an episodic basis, then it won't nearly be as dramatic as before, because the event will just be forgotten next time around. That's always been the thing with Bionicle to me, is the story and the marketing. Yeah, it was a building system, and change is good. I'm interested to see how Bionicle adapts the new system, and if this is a hoax and it's a different theme, I want to see how the new theme handles it. if it's Hero Factory, I just hope we don't see minifigures again. But with Bionicle, everything, from the books to the comics to the interactive things on the website (which were actually somewhat fun compared to what we've had lately) really gave me those memories. And with sets, things like part tubs, store exclusives, the sheer number of sets compared to HF, it's just things that really said Bionicle to me. And if that doesn't return, then Bionicle isn't 100% Bionicle to me.

Right then At this point, it would be completely impossible to discourage discussion about the recently found image, the previously hidden threads from earlier have been merged with this thread (formerly the "new theme in 2015=end of hero factory? thread) Where all rumors and talk about the future of contraction can be discussed here. As for the image, there is no official word on it's legitimacy, and if Lego requests that it not be discussed here then it will not be discussed. For now please remember not to post the image or videos containing the image to Eurobricks, just in case it is legitimate.
