1. Another great banner! I like this one even better than the first. Nice work Hinck (I assume).
2. I agree with those points. It made the game move at a painstakingly slow pace at least until half way through the game. The final days, with fewer remaining players, proved to be much more interesting. And yes Quarryman, you were one lucky bastard...
3. Crime never pays. You learned the hard way. Congrats to the Noodles (well, at least the one remaining) and Quarryman for a well-played game. I was a town protector. My night action was inherited by brickme after I got axed. Too bad I got killed off so early, but someone's gotta go early I guess.
4. It is actually built on a slope. It's only 1 brick or so higher in the back, but what else were you expecting?
5. I'm Ryan Catchers. Seems I'm the only sane person here. With even the staff proclaimed insane, I guess it will be up to me to root out the sinister murderers. If you need me, I'll be in the Bear room pondering over this situation. Thanks def for letting me play!
6. Nice entry, I like the dark color scheme. The roof and the snow coverings are well done. I'd only like to see a door post on both sides of the doors to the rooms upstairs.
7. Indeed, a lovely scene. Well done.
8. The hill house, but especially the light house are great. Personally, I like that they blend in more and more with the City line. All the new Creator structures use plates as a base. The same thing can be seen in the Kingdoms' 'mill set'. The barn seems to be built on large plates instead of base plates.
9. I agree with the mainstream opinions here I guess. The harbor looks pretty neat. It has a real classic town feel to it, probably due to the color scheme, yet it still feels contemporary. I like that's it no container ship this time, so it will be a nice addition to the previous City harbor. Too bad the dock isn't raised, it look like three or four of these base plates. The fishing boat looks nice. The speed boat doesn't look like anything special, but the picture isn't really clear. However, like many of you, I was expecting a lot more from the marina. But perhaps that's mainly because of the iconic status of the Sail N' Fly Marina among AFOLs. The Creator light house should be going well with these sets.
10. I indeed think they're inspired by old 1950s alien invasion movies, with the typical 'flying saucer' type UFOs. Not that I'm getting any of these, but I do like the concept. The pitchfork in the Kingdoms' 'mill set' seems like a brown Atlantis trident. Chances are it's the same thing that's included here.
11. The tram indeed is nice, but I also like the roof structure of the station a lot.
12. You could have just converted me, you *%&$%&%
13. Nice axe you got there. I used to have one a lot like it in Dystopia. I meta-gamed (based on your performance in Hogwarts) you as the Noodles godfather once the third family was revealed.
14. Beautiful scenery. I like the simplicity of the scene, combined with the refined build.
15. Or a harbor set contains a red cargo ship and this green one is available as a stand-alone set.
16. This (preliminary, so do not deeplink) picture from a retailer's catalog was posted in the 2011 Kingdoms thread. The left of the page clearly shows a green prefab ship hull with a farm logo on it.
17. Thanks! Nothing better than a blurry picture to fire up the speculation here... There definitely seems to be some new type of cattle in the village set and a new pitchfork, although it looks a little like an Atlantis trident on the picture.
18. Yeah, they're terrible... I really like the 'balcony' on the castle wall. And your instantly recognizable 1 x 1 round wall technique works great here. Excellent work, especially considering the limited time used.
19. Oh my... a test, just to get in and get some help... ok, stay calm, I'll try this, I can do this... don't go nuts... here it goes... oh my, I see LEGO in all these pictures, I think I might be obsessed with LEGO... does that count as insane? Please tell me that counts as insanity, PLEASE?! Help me Dr. Blutziegel... HELP ME! 1. South Park's Kenny with wings on his feet and shooting laser beams. 2. Two minifigs descending from an alien space craft. 3. Two pirate ships sailing into a Death Star hangar. 4. A space ship with mighty guns and it's constructed studs-down. 5. A Bionicle, Exo-force cross-over angel of dea... waaaahaaahaaa.
20. This is most impressive. The exterior is nice, but the multi-level structure and all the interior details are really great.
21. There's a "theory" behind it... Cherries in Cafe Corner -> Green Grocer Fire hydrant in Green Grocer -> Fire Brigade Girl with bag in Fire Brigade -> Grand Emporium (Market Street isn't technically part of the series). ... far-fetched I agree. Based on this theory, the next modular would either be a post office or an ice cream parlor.
22. One of the first definitely was the introduction of the minifig in 1978. I'm happy this occurred right after I was born, because it's a big factor in my love of LEGO. Then 1989 saw TLG introducing printed faces in the Pirates line. Actually seemed like forever until they introduced those, but it was only 11 years after the introduction of the minifig and it's almost ancient history now. The extensive use of SNOT-building definitely is a major change that happened gradually over the past decade, in part fueled by (or the other way around perhaps)... ... the release of sets specifically targeted to AFOLs. The exclusives line and the specific focus on AFOLs definitely has been the biggest change of the past decade.
23. This really was a no-brainer.
24. I don't think - and I'm glad you can't - remove the underline. But you can apply different text colors to links by putting the color or other formatting tags inside the 'url'-tags. Link Link But then again, signatures aside, I don't see the point for formatting text that way. I'd much prefer if everyone would just use standard formatting, with the occasional 'b', 'i', or 'u'-tag to highlight something and definitely wouldn't use color in the main text of a post.
25. Eurobricks trying to take over the world again, eh?
