  1. That's all explained here.
  2. Welkom / Welcome to Eurobricks. Be sure to check out the Modular Buildings then.
  3. Great entry Etzel. As others have said I really like the color scheme, the window designs and the thick layer of snow on the roof. The accessories and the interior really make this very much like an official set.
  4. Very original idea. I really like the snow covering you did on the clock tower.
  5. Thanks for yet another PQ review Hinckley. Any sign in the manual or on the box that this set (or the obelisk in the plane set) is meant to be be used to fill the 6 x 6 opening in the baseplate of the pyramid set?
  6. That totally depends on your graphics program (I use the free program Paint.net, but you can also use The Gimp which is also free). Most programs have a 'magic wand' that allows you to select areas of similar color. I usually use that to select the background (has to be one color and contrast with what you're cutting out for that to work) and then simply delete it, i.e., make it transparent.
  7. This definitely is my favorite entry so far. It's architecturally different from the two official buildings so far, yet fits in perfectly. I really like how you did the snow covering. Excellent work Jameson.
  8. Not all file formats support transparency. JPG for example doesn't, GIF or PNG do support transparency. Be sure to set the background to transparent instead of white in your graphics program.
  9. Those Brickmaster sets were also a bit smaller, more typical promotional set size, so I still have my doubts about 150-200 piece sets being exclusives. But if they turn out to be exclusives after all, $100 isn't such a bad deal for over 1,000 pieces.
  10. Those tan headdresses with the snakes printed on them look neat and are exclusive so far to that minifig pack.
  11. Probably you had less than 10 posts when you first tried it.
  12. I don't see mentioned that they're exclusive sets, it might as well be regular sets (which seems more likely if they don't explicitly mention it). Also, I was thinking the minifig could be 'virtual'.
  13. It is just the new mold and isn't specifically for this set. It is replacing the 'straight' cap, albeit slowly in some colors as TLG is using up inventory.
  14. Thanks for the review TheBrickster. It's a cute little log cabin. I really like the alternate builds, it really proves to be one of the strong points of the Creator line, especially in this case. The inclusion of a minifigure and more and more accessories over the years, pushes the Creator houses closer to the Basic housebuilding sets of the 1980s.
  15. And, not unimportant, much more costly as well.
  16. He won't be getting cold that's for sure. I also like how you've used the whip for the arms of the snow man.
  17. These are really great. I really like the idea for the first entry and the way you constructed the homeless. The second one can go straight into production as a winter promoset.
  18. Excellent review TheBrickster. This is the one set I definitely plan on getting from this theme. The minifig (one more vote for oil stains) is the best of the adventurer crew, the bike and the accessories (staff, swords) are great and the rest of the pieces look useful too.
  19. I foresee mafia death scenes.
  20. Thanks for the detailed review Hinckley. They really balanced looks and playability nicely. I really like the color scheme of these sets, the tan/dark-tan combination for the structures, with dark-blue accents, the dark-red for the vehicles, ... It's nice to see the scorpion has printed pieces, but I'm surprised at how well the pyramid looks without stickers even (good choice on using them on the main entrance though). The figures are absolutely fantastic, especially the Anubis' head. Of the adventurers, the 'mechanic' is absolutely my favorite character of the line: the torso is great.
  21. No, now that I think of it, I forgot one: a sword in the Sphinx set.
  22. One of the headdresses is the golden 'collectible' item that comes with the pyramid set (there's a shield, a staff, a gem, and a piece of gold in the other sets).
  23. Sharing a case with 3 AFOLs isn't going to work this way. I wouldn't have mind missing the barcodes at all in series 3 if the distribution was at least 3 of the same figs in a case. It would have been the perfect compromise for AFOLs: Avoid picking cases based on barcodes but still being able to get complete series easily, by splitting a case among three people.
  24. Header and/or separate column would seem most appropriate. If you mean the big images in the search results: yes, I would definitely go for something smaller. So maybe you could have a list with columns for set number, thumbnail image, reviews, further set info.
  25. I'm definitely in favor of putting all reviews in the Set Index eventually (and to leave it up to the forum mods whether to keep updating a separate index or not). However, given that the main purpose for creating the Set Index has been to make searching for reviews easier, I do find they could receive a more prominent place in the search results. Right now they are tucked away with all the other set info. If I'd use the Set Index for the first time without knowing the background, I probably wouldn't notice the links immediately.
