Sorry, with females I never tend to look past their beard...
  2. Been having a a better look at the high-res picture now and it definitely are prelims, all torsos are stickered and the skiers face is even coming off
  3. And the hands as other vegetables...
  4. Nice ice cream van BTT! I really like the color scheme and the rounded front of this classic van. Excellent work. Did you put any interior in the back and indeed: can a fig stand in the back?
  5. You really managed to create a nice and complete shop scene on such a small footprint. Nice work. These are the sets that are desperately missing from the Town theme: medium-sized buildings. I still remember the 636x range of the early 1980s. Some of the best small/medium sized classic town buildings are among those 10 sets...
  6. Couldn't that be one of the 'play features' of the set. I guess it looks fine with the ladder up.
  7. Welcome to EB. Good to have another Town fan on board

I bet this will be final too. The only issue will be what face will be on the farmer, because it's different on the box compared to the real thing. Yes! That's what I hoped they'd do. I only wish it were S@H Exclusives or truly classic Lego sets (like the Town monorail, Main Street, ...) As for the Advent calendar (I'll keep it in spoiler tags):
  9. Nice to see you turned one into an engine. The ground clearance - both in the front and the back - looks a little low on the engine though compared to the ladder. I see you've also changed the grill design on both. It really looks better this way!
  10. Disco Stu? That's hilarious. ("Did you know that disco record sales were up 400% for the year ending 1976? If these trends continue... Aay!"). I hope they give him a cool album cover to hold. It's minifigs like these I like. I agree with Inky: I also am not particularly into the wrestler, weight lifter, surfer, and Pamela type of figs. Some of my favorite ones include the clown, cheerleader, Disco Stu, and the mime. The skier from series 2 looks surprisingly good too. And these don't really look like the final designs: too many common pieces. Two of the same common hairpieces, the cop's helmet, the absence of a sombrero on the Mexican... The 2 x 2 round with one centered stud for the weight lifter looks like a part than can make it's entry in Lego's regular lines pretty soon. The $1.99 looks confirmed though. I hope this also translates into lower than expected euro-prices.
  11. For now my 'MOC collection' mainly consists of parts from sets bought with a nice discount and some bulk brick buckets/sets for basic parts.
  12. I noted the similarity too, although I wasn't entirely sure. I sure hope the new hair molds and the accessories will find their way into the regular lines. I'm guessing the torso designs will be exclusive to the Collectible Minifigs line.
  13. Great. Version 2 indeed looks much better 'proportioned'
  14. Looks like dark green to me. The black (?) beard is clearly a different color than the torso.
  15. Welcome to EB! I used to feel the same way coming out of my dark ages, but now I think 4-/5-wide for cars and 6-/7-wide for trucks works perfectly and is much more reflective of reality.
  16. I had it set to 'Linear+' all of a sudden recently. That displayed the topic start at the top of every page. Now you have all three options complete (outline, standard, and linear+)
  17. Ever since I 'accepted' 6-wide (took me some time ), I really like the detail that can be put into 6-wide trucks. But cars are a close second.
  18. $2? If that translates to €2 that would be nice. But all I've heard about EU prices so far is €2.50 (at least nothing lower) For kids and parents this doesn't compare well to a €3.00 impulse set, which includes some bricks in addition to a fig with accessories.
  19. Town was and still is my #1 theme. Next to that I almost have the entire 2009 Pirates line and some childhood Castle and Pirates sets. But the fact that the Town/City theme will always be there (although Town Jr. had me worried there), is an important factor to stick with this. So I guess it's about 90%-80% Town and 10%-20% Pirates for me. So, I guess it's 'I settled for two themes' for me, since I hardly ever buy anything outside Town and Pirates.
  20. According to the coverage of a Toyfair in England on Brickset.com, samples were handed out a lucky few. So that's one way they came into circulation.

    Modular Buildings

Not really a review, but you can check last weekend's post on Brick Town Talk.
  22. You know you're a LEGO addict when... you beat someone to this conclusion by a minute
  23. Something similar has been done...

Or you can turn them into parking spaces or build a bike lane.
  25. Happy B-day Q!
