Highly original, I like how you've 'mediavaled' all the rides. Man, you're on fire, don't you have anything else to do besides build?

... to the land of Lego Legends. Mark couldn't believe his eyes. He saw life-size versions of all the legendary Lego sets of the past. They hovered over Main Street, flew through the gates of Black Falcon's Fortress, greeted the friendly folks at the Guarded Inn, before arriving at their destination, the feared Black Seas Barracuda. "The captain's cabin, you will find the next part of the map in", Yoda said. Mark boarded the Barracuda and was immediately attacked by four clone pirates who all looked like alike ( ) and could only be identified by the combination of the color of their bandanas and colors of the stripes on their shirt. Mark easily passed these not so clever pirates and reached the door of the captain's cabin. In there was Red Beard, the pirate captain. Just as Mark was trying to grab the map of the wall of the cabin, ...

For the record: numbers are 30008 and 30009 (not 3008 and 3009). They're pretty nicely designed sets actually, not that I'll buy any, but still...

I prefer to at least have the interview available in text format, because it is much easier to scan relatively quickly. No problems with accents here... Keep up the good work Zullo and Iz.

Crazy similarities between pirate I and pirate II torsos
Rick replied to badboytje88's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think it's as much a coincidence as the similarities in the sets of the initial years of Pirates I and II (1989 and 2009). In other words: I think the Pirates II torsos are heavily inspired by/'updated' from the Pirates I torsos. So: You are not 'seeing things'. -
New element: Brick 1 x 1 with stud on 1 side
Rick replied to Rick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
All credits go to LowLUG member TAFOL, who doesn't appear to have an account here. -
"Strong the force in you is. Teach you use the force against evil guinea pigs, I will", he heard from behind his uncle. Mark couldn't oppress his laughter when he saw a little fragile creature emerging from the Naboo fighter. But before he could dry his moist eyes, ...

LowLUG member TAFOL has 'discovered' a picture of a new element: a 1 x 1 brick with a stud on 1 side in 30008 Creator snow man, which can be found in Bluefiddle's Brickshelf gallery. Building instruction (from lego.com): http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildin...ons/4581336.pdf Bricklink has the part erroneously inventoried as a 1 x 1 headlight brick. Personally I've been waiting for this element for quite a while. Should provide a very good alternative to a 1 x 1 technic brick with a half-pin in System building.

I really like the way the color scheme turned out. And good that you continue your 'signature': building in all sorts of non-standard angles: it really adds realism. I don't really like the sand-blue (or what's that color called?) minifig heads being used as ornaments on the roof.

My wife and myself actually both own a copy from our childhood collections. The very blueprint for a classic town car: a car chassis, two mudguards, two car doors, some headlight bricks, two car windows, and a hinge roof. Throw in some plates and small bricks and there's your classic town car.

... that - even though the little meteor was on a collision course with his Naboo fighter - it never actually got hit. Instead the meteor was shredded into millions of little pieces right before impact. Just when Mark realized that the fighter's crew must have shot down the meteor, the fighter started moving in his hands and...

You mean this one? But to get back to the question that started the topic: aren't you better off buying those hull pieces on Bricklink? Licensed sets tend to be relatively expense and you'll be stuck with those fleshies ( ), although those Indy sets tend to have nice pieces in good colors. So I guess that if you want to buy the set for the pieces it's all about price versus interesting pieces to you (versus the cost of those interesting pieces on Bricklink).

Yeah, that's what I meant to say... Happy birthday!

... loud scream, followed by a rattling noise very familiar to Mark. When he looked the other way, he saw it was his girl friend Mary. On the floor lay his Lego Millennium Falcon, that he just spent the past three nights building, in thousands of pieces. 'What made you drop my Millennium Falcon?', Mark cried out. Mark didn't have to wait long for an answer, because when he turned around he was faced with...

Indeed for facades of buildings it's often better to use 2 x X bricks, because you have the opportunities to easily add indented windows and ornamental pieces. Side walls can then use 1 x X bricks or you could share the wall with the neighbor's house and use 2 x X bricks for the separating side walls as well.

Found this prototype picture of the recently released carousel on Brickshelf.

Truly amazing. I like that you use your 'signature banner' in most of your creations. This certainly is 'collosal'... good luck in the contest!

Good you're trying to go for the purist solution. Looking forward to your solution.

Nice work. I like the snow covered trees, especially the little one in front of the shop windows.

When I wanted the Eldorado fortress as a kid (and finally got it), I was always naively hoping there would be a secret entrance into the 'rock' at the left side under the yellow arch.

These cubies always make me smile. Oh... and very well done, you really managed to 'cubify' the characters really well.

Alright, it's certainly not violent or anything, but maybe I'm missing the typical peaceful/peace time/end of war story to it that some other entries do have (like Nate's coming home from war scene). But other than that: excellent entry.
